Should I get my girlfriends parents a xmas gift?
Q. I am traveling with my new girlfriend to her home town. We will be staying with her parents. I have already met them once the last time we went and visited. I was wondering since we are visiting for xmas should I get them a gift. If so any ideas?
A. Get them something. The restaurant gift card is a good idea but $50 is too much for me. Cards for nice restaurants (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc.) are usually available at Wal-Mart for $25. A lesser priced option is a gift for the house or a couple of sparkling juice bottles with a couple of wine glasses.

A. No, that's the sort of thing you buy for your girlfriend, not something that you'd buy for a female friend. Buy her something nice which is the sort of thing that you would give to a friend. Don't spend a fortune either because this too is not how you treat a girl who isn't your girlfriend. Buying her an expensive heart shaped necklace is presumptuous and is likely to embarrass or annoy her, this isn't what you're trying to achieve, it isn't much different from buying her an engagement ring.
