Need opinions!! Bachelorette Party ideas!?

EarthToYou

SO! I am getting married in February. Bachelorette party will be in January. We thought about Chicago but decided not to do that as it is a 4 hour drive and we don't want to go through ice and snow. We are thinking maybe do something locally...maybe go to some bars?

idk....do you have any ideas!? Thanks!!!!!!

Answer
Visit www.slumberparties.com
See if they have someone in your area, they do the lingerie, toys and gag gifts and you get free stuff from your sales at the party so everyone wins. The parties are a blast and you could serve drinks and food to your friends and maybe go out for a bit afterward. Or stay home then you don;t have to worry about MAKING it home. I've seen someone o this as a bachelorette party and it was perfect.

Engagement party gift ideas?

Davina Lop

I'm attending my cousin and his fiancée engagement party next weekend and I have no idea what kind of gift to give them since they already live with each other and have everything they need for their house. I was thinking of just buying them a card and putting $100 dollars in it. Is money a good idea or should I get them an actual gift.

Answer
I agree, most people do not consider the engagement party to be a gift giving event, it IS the gift!
You can't go wrong with just a nice card.

If you wish to give a gift, cash or a boxed gift, fine, you can. But do know that you might be invited to lots of wedding events. Perhaps more than one engagement party. Perhaps the shower, or more than one. Then the wedding itself. Perhaps even a bachelor, or bachelorette party.
It would be nice to give them some money up front, I'm sure they would appreciate it. If you can afford it, why not?

This is a good time for the family to give heirloom or new bought gifts for the wedding, like a cake server and knife, or toasting glasses.
Also a good time to hand down heirlooms for their house, or jewelry.
Also for the family to chip in with financial help.

Books on weddings are a good present.
a bottle of champagne intended to be opened at this party, or for another time, or a bottle of nice wine is good.
Photo albums and scrapbooks would be fine too.

Shower Hostess Gifts?

annabelle7

My mom's friends are throwing a bridal shower for me in August and I have no idea what to give as hostess gifts. Any fun ideas?

Answer

GREAT Hostess Gift Idea..??

CandyCane

Hey all.. I need some great, fun, unique ideas for hostesses gifts. I'm getting married in October, and I'm having three showers, with multiple hostess, and I need to find gifts of course, for them. All suggestions welcomed! Thanks!

Answer
Since you do not know what they like, just get a Gift Album. There are many different themes and there is no price amount on it when you give it to them. Just an album of gifts for them to choose from. They just pick the gift, go online and say that is the one they want. They pay nothing. Just go to http://ribbon.arcameda.com/ and search around. If you need help picking one, go to my profile to email me.

Perhaps the Ribbon Variety Gift Collection Ensemble. It has electronics, appliances, different tools, Jewry and ... and it is only $25.
There is also the the Personal Accents Gift Album. It is an array of necklaces, earrings, watches, and bracelets that they can choose from.

2012, What do you Believe?

B0L3A

end of the world? no? yes? myth? another stupid y2k threat? John Cusak are you kidding me? whats with the hype!

Answer
It's going to be like any other year. Just another one. I believe I'm going to enjoy my christmas gift that year. And I hope it's something I want.

2012 is just a myth ( not even but anyway ) The mayan calendar ended on 12 december and people believe it will end. Maybe the guy got a heart attack while setting it up. Or maybe he got sacrificed to the mayan gods. Who knows. But I can bet my life it won't happen. If it happens I'll die....... Everybody dies in anyway on that day IF it happens.

How do you help a 7 year old boy who has no remorse for his actions?

Natalie

Hi my name is Natalie and I am a step mom of a brilliant little boy. He is so intelligent that he is often bored in school (even though he skipped an entire grade and is still in all the gifted classes) and when he is bored he gets into trouble. But lately he doesn't seem to care what he does. He got in trouble in school last week for throwing a rock at another boy in school. His mom made him write an apology to the boy as well as his teacher (on top of grounding him for a month) but he he didn't want to sign it he just had a real care free attitude about he whole thing. We all explained to him how serious this is how he could really hurt other people but the bottom line is, he just doesn't seem to care. He has no compassion for anyone. I know kids can be selfish but to not even care if you physically HURT another person? We are at a loss... any ideas? Only helpful advice please!

Answer
You can't fix this. His parents can't fix this. And his teachers can't fix this. The boy needs professional help. And your family has a huge problem on their hands. If that 7 year old boy feels no remorse now, he certainly won't at 10, 13, or say 18.

He needs to be evaluated by a competent child psychiatrist immediately, preferably in a children's hospital, if possible. Don't let anyone get away with saying that this is just a stage the boy is going through as it isn't. He needs prompt evaluation and treatment before you have a sociopath on your hands. Take care.

christmas gift ideas for mom?

soccer chi

ok im 15 years old and christmas is obviously coming up. does anyone have any reasonable affordable ideas for gifts i could get for my mom? she is 46, single, uhhm, doesnt really like chocolates and that kind of stuff. any ideas please let me know.
thank you very much :)

Answer
This may seem silly but it's definitely unique. I got my son a cool gift - have you ever heard of iPixxl? They make these super cool life size vinyl stickers that can go on your car or walls in your home. They peel right off to be moved! They are great. I just took some of my son's favorite animal photos and used them to create a jungle feel in his room. But you can use the stickers for a lot of things, maybe a best friends photo, or a photo of you and your mom, or maybe of her favorite animal, or pets. Check out their site http://www.ipixxl.com. Good luck and Happy Holidays!

Does this sound like a good christmas gift for my mom?

Jasmine

I was thinking about it and I realized she likes Christmas music (cds).I get her a cd almost every year.
Now I thought of learning how to play a bunch of christmas songs on piano and burn them onto a disc put it in a nice case and give it to her for Christmas. Do you think she will like it?

Answer
Personalized gifts are always great. It is a good thinking. Your mother will be highly pleased after feeling your love for her. This is the most unique gift you can gift your mother. You can try other personalized gift especially handmade jewelry and clothing.

Valentines Day gift ideas for my boyfriend?

Alyssa

Hey guys,
So Valentines Day is coming up! I'm absolutely terrible at coming up with gift ideas and it'd be great if you guys could leave a few ideas. I know it depends on the guy but he's pretty simple; varsity soccer player, likes xbox, and is a just typical teenage boy in general. We are both only 15 so don't say my virginity or anything like that haha, just some cute ideas would be nice. Oh and cologne is out of the picture because I have already gotten him that on other occasions. Thank you!

Answer
Electronics and Accessories

Men and electronics seem to go hand in hand. If your boyfriend has an iPod, consider buying him a gift card for music downloads. Track his favorite music, and buy him a DVD from his favorite band. If he's a movie buff, buy his favorite actor's newest release--or even better, locate a hard-to-find version of a movie your boyfriend would love to own. Phone cases, earphones and any other type of accessory for his favorite gadgets will make your gift a favorite of your boyfriend.

College and Sports Theme Gifts

If you live near your boyfriend's alma mater, consider taking him down memory lane by purchasing tickets to a favorite campus event. If your boyfriend is in high school and has his eye on a certain college after graduation, order a T-shirt or sweats from the college bookstore. For the boyfriend who is a sports fanatic, the choices are endless when it comes to choosing the perfect gift. A throw blanket, a sweat shirt or a hat with his favorite team insignia will ensure a happy reception. Less expensive choices include a keychain, pen or business card case.

Engraved Gifts

For the connoisseur of fine things, buy him a one-of-a-kind engraved gift. A businessman might enjoy a business card case, a pen set or a special set of engraved goblets for use when entertaining. A younger boyfriend might appreciate an engraved ID bracelet, a keychain or a knife. A set of dog tags with both of your names or a special quote will make a long-lasting gift.

Donations

If your boyfriend is the type of man who already has everything or prefers to live life in a clutter-free zone, consider making a donation in his name to a favorite charity. Analyze his likes and dislikes before deciding on the right contribution. If he already has a charity he prefers to work with, this gift will be an easy one to put into place. Write him a simple note telling about the gift, and place it in a card. He'll likely treasure the card as much as the thoughtful gift.

Edible Gifts

Most men--whether teen or adult--will happily welcome a homemade gift of food. A tray of brownies, a decorated plate of cookies or a box of hand-dipped chocolates will make his mouth water. If you aren't the baking type, find a local bakery and order a variety of his favorite pastries, a cake or a pie. If your boyfriend is health-conscious and prefers not to eat sweets, put together a special gift basket of healthful items such as muffins, nuts and fresh fruit.

Mall Scavenger Hunt Ideas?

syncroduck

For my birthday party, I want to have a scavenger hunt at the mall. I am splitting my friends and I into two groups. Each team will get a specific ammount of money to spend in the hunt. There will also be a time limit. Then, there's three categories for the hunt. They are: things to buy, things to get (as in freebees) and things to take pictures of. Any suggestions of what to put in the categories? Also, what would be a good time limit for 7-8 teenage girls?

10pts best answer!!!

Answer
This is a great idea! I have done it before and it was a lot of fun!

15-30 minutes should be enough time.

Things to buy:
1. Something blue
2. Something under a dollar
3. Something sparkly
4. Something edible
5. Something you would like (more gifts for you!)

Things to get:
1. A hot guy's phone number
2. Perfume swatch sample (from a particular store)
3. Free sample from the food court (or a napkin - something like that)
4. A toilet seat cover (it would just be funny)
5. A bag from your favorite store

Pictures:
1. Dress up a teammate in the worst outfit possible
2. A teammate kissing a guy on the cheek
3. A picture in a dressing room
4. Dress a teammate up in only orange (or any one color) attire
5. Convince a stranger to let you dress them up and take the picture

Hope that helps! :-)

Party gift ideas for a BEST friend?

receedingh

My Bestfriends Birthday is coming up. We are celebrating by going to a movie and dinner? She is turning 14 and i need a REALLY creative gift idea!!! Any ideas?

Answer
here are some gift ideas for your best friend:
1. Jewelry -either bought, or made by you
2. A frame with you and your friend together
3. a friendship bracelet/necklace/earrings
4. braided friendship bracelet made by you, or...in some places can be bought
5. a gift card to some place---See's Candies---
6. Pajamas
7. a cute shirt for school/or jeans/pants

-You know your friend better than any of us, think about what she would like. Use the things that she is into-
It is always a good idea to attach a card that YOU made with your gift. Make it thoughtful, and put things in there that you like about your best friend. Say things like "we will be friends forever!" or "BFF's!" or "You're the greatest friend ever!" Things like that.

Any fun, cheap but special gift ideas for close friends?

Daisy11

I recently went through a very tough time in my life (my fiance` left me) and my three closest girlfriends have been amazing at picking me up when I'm down and helping me move on with my life. The three of them are coming to my house for the weekend this Friday and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas for cute, small gifts for them. I want them to know how special they are for me and show them that I appreciate their amazing friendship. However, money is low right now so although I want it to be special, it needs to be somewhat cheap! Any ideas would be helpful, thanks!

Answer
I just recently bought my sister a gift for her birthday. I was refer to this website from a best friend of mine. The name of the site is called Melissa Jewel and Spa, and they specialize in unique fragrance. You have a choice to pick any of their fragrance, you pick the bath product you like, and finally you even get to choose the color you want. It's like to get to choose your own bath essential.

so if you want 8oz, Pink Strawberry Short Cake in a Whipped body butter, then you can have it that way. mention code refer1 to get 30% off.

Please Help...Gift ideas for mom?

Kylee's Mo

Last year i made my mom a poster with all of me, my brother and sister's pictures from our whole life on it. It said we love you supermom. She really loved it! But this year i have ran out of creative ideas. Im 17, my sister 13 and my brother 8. We have about 20-30 dollars to spend. Our parents are divorced and my dad refuses to help us out. HELP

Answer
The gift you gave your mom last year was incredibly thoughtful and sweet. Perhaps you could stick with the lovely theme and create a photo album or video for her this year. One of my mom's favorite birthday gifts was a video I made for her with pictures chronicling her life from the time she was born up to present-day, and last Christmas I made a video with my art work set to her favorite poem and she loved it too. I just used the Window Movie Maker software that came on my laptop, so it didn't cost me anything at all to make the videos, and it wasn't too complicated. There are free video editing software programs you can download if your computer doesn't already have one. If you have pictures on your computer it will be easy to import them to movie maker (or whatever program you'd use), and if they aren't already uploaded you could scan them onto your computer. Make a slideshow of the pictures and set it to songs your mom loves, then burn it to a dvd or upload it to YouTube. You can password-protect the video if you just want family members to be able to view it.

Other ideas:
~ If you have a lot of older family photos you could scan them onto your computer and upload them to a site like Photobucket or Flickr, then give the password to your extended family so everyone could view them. It may seem like a really simple gift, but I imagine your mom would really enjoy being able to share special pictures with other family members and friends, and it takes effort to scan all the photos in. If you don't have a scanner on your laptop you could scan the pictures inexpensively at Kinkos. Just be very careful handling any older pictures because they may be fragile, and don't put tape on them.
~ Make a photo album for her. You could buy an inexpensive album at an arts and crafts store like Jo-Ann Fabrics or Michael's and decorate it yourselves.
~ Many photo-sharing websites like Shutterfly and iPhoto allow you to create gifts like photo calendars, books, key chains, and even aprons and coasters with your pictures, and they're usually under $30.
http://www.apple.com/ilife/iphoto/print-products.html
http://www.shutterfly.com/
Drugstores and other places with photo-printing services can usually make items with your pictures too.
~ Find a picture you love of you and your siblings and put it on a coffee mug with "We Love You, Supermom" so she can smile every morning when she uses it.
~ Make a special CD for her with songs she loves and ones that were popular the year she was born and graduated from high school. You can download the songs and burn them onto a disk for under $30.

If there is a special poem or quotes she loves you could add them to the slideshow video you decided to make one. Here's the one I did last year to give you an idea:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2rCHEfrkD4Y
Windows Movie Maker made it simple to add the poem, transitions and music.

I hope you all have a very merry Christmas.

~ Peace : )
Good luck!

Christmas gift ideas for my mom?

Sarah

So it's a tradition that my dad, my sister, and I spend a whole day at different stores to buy my mom Christmas gifts. The problem is that she's always reluctant to tell us what she wants. (she's sefless) We really want to give her something special because she works hard throughout the whole year. I'm sure we'll find stuff to get her when we're shopping, but having ideas beforehand would be good. So, any ideas on what I should get my mom for Christmas? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Answer
Gift certificates.

Food makes good Christmas gifts. Items that can be found at your grocery store during December - they are in gift boxes and bags:

Tin of Danish cookies.
Box of chocolates.
Box of different types of cheeses.
Box of different types of sausages.
And many more.
All are in Christmas looking containers.

Have you seen the BIG tins of three types of popcorn? We have them at our mall. Great gift. Can also be given with a DVD movie.

Gift Ideas For a Guy Friend...?

ashdanbay

I have a guy friend turning 27 in a couple of weeks. He's one of my best friends, so I want to get him something nice and something he'll like. He works out a lot, so I was thinking something that has to do with exercising. My price range is about $70 - $135. I've looked at some good workout watches, but most of them just seem like heartrate monitors unless you buy additional stuff like foot PODs to measure speed and distance, etc. It doesn't have to be a watch...it doesn't even have to be exercise stuff...just an idea. Any advice would be great...especially from guys in that age range or from people that have had success gifting to guys in that age range. Thanks in advance!

Answer
Well you could try any of the following:
-Shoes (Any type in particular you know he likes)
-An iPod (If he doesn't have one)
-That "Perfect Pushup" thing
-Guys seem to like Oakley sunglasses
-A punching bag

I don't know. All of those gifts have worked for me. Yet again it depends on the person and their likes and dislikes.

Okay so my best friends birthday is coming up (August 3rd) and I have no idea what to get her. I was planning on making a huge card with a bunch of our inside jokes in it. A gift card to her favorite store (doesn't have to be much money if you're low on cash), a teddy bear, makeup, a basket of her favorite drink or snacks, concert tickets. Also, maybe there's something of yours that you don't really need but she likes, maybe you could give that to her? :) Plus I think the big card with all the inside jokes is a great idea along with whatever you decide to do. :)
Happy birthday to your best friend and good luck! :D

Help! I need to buy a birthday gift for my aunt who is turning 60? Any ideas!?

BlueEyes

Think Betty Crocker meets June Cleaver! My aunt is wonderful and I a stumped! We are planning a big dinner and I need to get the perfect gift. Money is always the issue so I unfourtunatly cant afford to spend more that $40 or $50. I need something nice...maybe a new gaget, kitchen/ house stuff etc...Please help!

Answer
most people at 60 have all the houshold items they want and need. and these gifts are not personal or memorable.find something she likes to do, like eat out and get a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant. a favorite hobby. perhaps you have a talent or a hobby and you could make something for her she would love that ! but, be creative. the presentation of the gift or even gift certificate is important. a nice gift bag, with some fresh flowers tucked in or something like that.does she like to stay in / go out. movie tickets, pizza gift certificates ? a small, inexpensive pendant, just from you for her, for a keepsake. most women have chains, so you dont need to buy one. a certificate for a pedicure ? if you love her dearly, you will know what she loves, and this will bring you to the gift.

60th birthday party ideas?

fvfv81

Answer
As baby boomers enjoy life well into their retirement years, Sweet 60 doesn't have to mean over the hill.

---Invitations---

Along with the where, when and RSVP details, use appropriate greetings for the front cover of the invitation indicating the specific party theme and a headline reading "Sexy Sixty", "The Big 6 - Oh!", Sweet 60", "or "Sixty is Nifty!"

---Party Theme Ideas---

The "Over the Hill" theme has always been easy and popular, but you can also opt for a theme centered around the celebrants favorite leisure activity. A sports theme party or a luau is always fun, or take a trip down memory lane with a tribute to the decade in which the birthday boy or girl grew up, such as the 50's or 60's.

A surprise party may take a little extra work, but with a bit of planning it can provide special excitement and lots of happy memories.

---60th Birthday Gift Ideas---

Gift-giving at a 60th birthday party is simplicity itself - whether it be 5 dozen roses, 10 six-packs of beer or soda, or 60 lottery tickets.

Create something more personal by arranging a memory book or scrapbook filled with favorite photos and keepsakes. Ask friends and loved ones to e-mail special birthday wishes well in advance to be included with the photos, or print-out the e-mails and pin them up separately on a decorated bulletin board.

---Party Food---

You can work in the Sweet 60 theme with another great idea: substitute the birthday cake with 60 individual cupcakes, served on a tiered party tray. Also try to include foods that everyone will enjoy, including low salt or sugar-free drinks for those on dietary restrictions. As with any party, self-serve is way to go, making for easy mingling around the buffet table.

If in doubt, skip the "lame" prune juice and Jello. The food should be centered around the guest of honor's favorites!

Unique Gift Basket Business name ideas...?

smayrae

I am starting a business from my home. The gift baskets will be for all occassions....Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings, Engagements, Babies, Congratulations, Graduation, etc.

Some thing cute...I'm a young girl (23) and have been making the baskets for friends and familes for a while and they have told me I should do it as a second job..so I'm doing to attempt it. I need a cute/sassy type name...to fit my personality! Thanks!

Answer
Hi, from one gift basket creator to another, sending an invite to join my blog on gift baskets. It's still pretty new so maybe we can brainstorm ideas together. I came up with my business name simply by using my real name, but I think that if you want to have a more direct approach maybe design your logo in a cute/sassy tone because usually with a name that's a little harder to change if you find that you want to do different themed baskets in the future and you'll have to spend money replacing your name on websites, letterhead, etc. Check out my site if you get a chance. Good Luck!http://www.simplicityisgood.typepad.com/

Cute Simple Ideas for Baby Gift Box/Basket..?

Tabs

Alright so my sister in law is pregnant with her first child..yay for her! :).. and has finally put her registry up.
I have already figured out what my husband and I will buy her, but I want to make her sort of like a gift basket/box.
Now I have some ideas in my head and from online, of course, but I wanted to know what sort of things others do.
Do you neatly put them in a decorated box or basket, and if so how do you decorate it & arrange everything.
I've never made an actual gift basket, I've always bought a thing or two and put it in a pretty gift bag.
This time I'm wanting to do a gift basket or box so I can stuff more in there.
Ideas are appreciated and websites/pix of boxes/baskets/ideas would be awesome too :)
Thanks so much!

Answer
I recommed you to browse this website where they give you ideas of what to put in a homemade baby gift basket and also give you tips and tricks how to make it and how to arrange everything.
It is always nice to go with a special theme, so if your sister in law has some favourite character such as 'Helly Kitty' or if she likes cats or ducks or owls (I think you get the idea) you could center your gift basket around this theme.
Use lots of ribbons to decorate and maybe also personalize the gift basket with wooden letters or simply add a door plate with baby's name. Choose a basket your sister in law can use later on to stack the diapers or take a Bumboo baby sitter and fill this up.
It's all explained in details and with photos here: http://www.best-baby-gifts.com/newborn-baby-gift-baskets.html

Oh, and if you feel comfortable to babysit, do not forget to add a babysitting coupon (booklet). This is the best gift ever (I am a mom of 3 and know what it means if you have a few minutes on your own when stressed out...).

Good luck, hope my tips helped.

Photo albums and scrapbooks would be fine too.

engagement gift ideas!?!?!?

mrs. mille

my boyfriend and i have an upcoming engagement party to go to, actually in 2 days, and we need some help as to what gift to give. the couple is unique in that the male will be leaving for two years shortly after the party to serve in Iraq, after which the wedding will take place. So, we need some unique ideas that stray from restaraunt gift cards, etc. Something we can get fast, not too expensive [under $100] that both can enjoy. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Answer
Hi,
I don't think a gift is needed. Definitely give them a card and, if you want, a nice bottle of wine. What you CAN DO....is be there for your friend while her fiancee is away. Offer to help her with any wedding planning. If you are not that close to her (maybe only to him?), you can still offer to take her out to lunch, go with her to a movie, or send her a card every now and then while he is away! She will really be missing him and she needs support!

Help! I need gift ideas for my best guy friend!?

Ashley

In a few months I am going to be shipped off to training for the army and my best friend is going to be lost without me. Before I leave, I want to get him something that will help him not only remember me, but to show him that ill always be there for him. We are together every day and to go from constantly seeing each other, tonight even being able to talk on the phone is going to be huge change for him.I need ideas for the perfect gift so that he knows I will always be his best friend. Any suggestions will be very appreciated and very helpful in this process. Thanks!

Answer
Congratulations on making such a life-changing decision to join the Army!
My boyfriend almost went to the Marines but decided against it later on so for a while I was sort of in your position. Is there something you're talented at such as art, playing an instrument, sewing, etc? If you are, I encourage you to create something that resembles your guys' friendship or create something that he will really like. That way, he can pull it out whenever he's thinking about you and remember all the good times you two have shared. I enjoy writing and recently wrote a short letter to my friend who was having a difficult time with her relationship and she loved it.

If you don't like these ideas, try making a scrapbook filled with pictures, funny things you two have said, fun stickers, and anything else that you guys have done together. As long as you making it meaningful, there's no wrong way of going about this way of saying "I'll always love you, buddy!"

Gift ideas?

Q. Hi,

as I will soon be in Korea again, I was wanting to ask all of you what kinds of gifts would be nice to bring for my girlfriends family?

I have some ideas already in mind, and my gf has also suggested things too, but just want to know from this community, what you think would be good ~^^

please keep the suggestions to 'airplane friendly' items, and things that a Korean family would appreciate^^ Thx!

Cheers ~ M.
Hi,

The gifts will be for her mother, sister (& sisters husband), and brother.

Her sister is older then me (30), and her brother is younger(22). I'm 27 in case you really wanted to know :P

Thx ~ M.

Answer
One point not mentioned, though, and it's a big point here in South Korea; this is true, especially if the gift receiver is senior to you in age. Although it's not spoken, the idea is conveyed to gift-givers that -

the expense of the gift bears a direct relation as to how sincere the gift-giver is.

In short - the more expensive, the more sincere.

The suggestion of Alcohol is the most common gift that is given, especially if it's imported from outside the country.

Believe it or not, Imported vs. domestic also bears a direct relation as to how sincere the gift-giver is.

In short - imported shows more sincerity from the gift-giver.

For example - Johnny Walker Blue Label, when it's available, can be purchased at the Camp Humphreys Class VI store for about $75.00.

Likewise, a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label, imported, could cost around 240 thousand Won in a Korean store (average $269.00).

But, a bottle of imported Wine could cost anywhere on the average of perhaps 70,000 Won for a bottle (average $79.00).

In short, which item shows more "sincerity" from the gift-giver?

Is the gift-receiver a male or female?

Honey has been also suggested for gift-giving. But the downside is this; South Korea is still considered a male-dominant society, even though thoughts are slowly changing.

In a male-dominant society, the gift of imported Alcohol vs. a gift of Honey would definitely help your chances when gift-giving to a senior in age male.

When I asked my (Korean) wife, she informed me that a gift of Honey would be considered a female gift; don't give a senior male a female-related gift.

As for gifts of food; I don't suggest that. Simply put, avoid problems with Airport Customs on your way in.

Canned-type food; I don't suggest that either. Korean people is notoriously picky when eating foreign foods, not including imported meats.

what would be good for a couples 25th wedding aniversery?
we are their friends and need ideas!
if you have any ideas of what we could get we would appreciate it very much!
please only if it would be $50 or less

THANK YOU VERY MUCH â¥â¥â¥â¥â¥â¥â¥â¥

Answer
Since the 25th anniversary is the "silver" one, a great and thoughtful gift would be to purchase a silver picture frame and have their wedding pictures re-framed in it! It would show your friends that you thought of tradition, and put time and efforts into getting their original wedding photos! (Maybe pick a frame with several picture options and use different pics from the wedding).

Another sweet and caring gift is that of star registry! Its typically cheap (around $50.00 I think) and you can name a star after them. They will give you a star map and tell you how to find their "star" struck love in the sky!

See the website Star Registry

What are some cute homemade gift ideas to make my girlfriend?

Q. My girlfriend and I have been dating for about four years. We are now out of high school and she decided to enlist in the military. She leaves for the marine corps boot camp on August 23rd, and she will be gone for 90 days. After boot camp, she comes home for ten days before leaving for a second boot camp. We live together, and spend almost every second together, so it is going to be a very hard transition from that to only speaking through letters. As hard as it is, I am trying to support her as much as I can. I want to make her ten days at home very special, and I want to give her one present every day for the ten days she is home. I don't have a lot of money, so I want to make her as many presents as I can. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. (: thank you.

Birthday Party Gift Bag Ideas?

pumpkinsmo

My daughter is having a bowling party for her 11th birthday. The guests will be boys and girls and will range in ages from 6 to 14. Any ideas for "affordable" gift bags?

Answer
Because the ages range so much (6-14) then i would just keep it simple so everyone gets the same gift bag, otherwise you would have to really spend some money to hit every ones age interests. I would just put in some candy, gum, balloons, chap stick, pencils and maybe go to McDonald's and pick up a few gift books to put $5 or so in every ones bag, or talk to the bowling alley about gift books. As i said it really depends what you want to spend if you want to seperate the boy bags from the girls buy differnt color bags and for the girls keep with all of the above but add in hair ties, lip gloss, costume jewelery, combs, scents. For boys there not much besides temp tatooes or sports game cards.

Good Baby Gift Idea for Christmas?

SweetPea

I am looking for a good Christmas Gift for my niece who will be 2 months old at that time. She obviously will be too young to care if I buy toys or clothes so I plan to make it more of another babyshower type gift. The parents don't have much money, so the gift needs to be useful. Their other daughter is 7, so they gave everything away from her.

I am looking for something unique that will make life easier for the family...I considered the Bumbo seat but am not sure if it is worth the money considering the short amount of time that it is safe for the baby. I already bought a portable crib w/ bassinet for the shower gift. We buy gifts for everyone under the sun, so I am only looking to spend $30-$40. Any ideas/suggestions?
My in-laws made sure to buy them all of the big items (crib, high chair, car seat, stroller, etc). I won't give gift cards to the parents because they will spend it something "stupid" or not for the baby. Any other thoughts on the Bumbo Chair?

Answer
Do you have any other siblings that would go in on a gift with you? If so, I recommend the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo ~$70.

Something in your price range that would be useful is a booster seat (can be used from first solids until 2-3 years old). They can skip the bulky high chair and just strap a booster to one of their kitchen chairs. Here's a great one: http://www.amazon.com/Fisher-Price-Healthy-Care-Booster-Seat/dp/B0000DEW8N/ref=cm_lmf_tit_3_rsrsrs0

List of Cute Gift Ideas for Your Boyfriend

Things to Do

Take your boyfriend on a date to an event or location he might like, or just find a secluded spot for a romantic meal.

Picnic: Set up a picnic at the park, beach, or even in your own living room. Bring candles, good food and don't forget about some champagne glasses for toasting.

Card and tickets: Find a cute card and purchase tickets to a sports game or concert he wants to see. Try TicketsNow or StubHub.

Visit animals: If your boyfriend is an animal lover, he may enjoy a visit to a zoo he's never visited. If the closest zoo he hasn't seen yet is far away, make it into a weekend getaway or day trip.

Objects That Show Your Affection

Sometimes, choosing an object to give him is easier and less expensive than pulling together an event. That doesn't mean the gift can't be special:

Message teddy bear: Buy a teddy bear or other stuffed animal and put a card or message around its neck. You could also find one with a zipper back and place a message inside.

Trinket: You can find little trinkets in card stores. Tell him to place it in his wallet and every time he looks at it, he can think of you.

Picture frame: Purchase a picture frame and place a photo of both of you in it.

Inscribed watch: You don't have to spend a fortune on a nice looking watch. Find one with a big enough back and have a special message engraved on it. You can purchase a watch wherever you'd like and then take it to your local jeweler if the store where you purchase the watch doesn't offer engraving services.

Matching jerseys: Does he have a special team and player he likes? You can buy him a jersey and then buy one for yourself to wear for the next time you watch a game together. Try Dick's Sporting Goods.

Word magnets: Word magnets are words you can place on your refrigerator to make sentences. You can easily make these at home by purchasing pieces of thin magnet at a craft store, printing out words from your computer and gluing them onto pieces of magnet. For this cute boyfriend gift idea, make sure to choose words that signify how much you mean to each other. If you need some ideas or would like to know what word magnets look like, visit Funky Fridge.

Recordable key chain: Check Radio Shack or other electronics store for a recordable key chain or picture frame. Leave a loving message on it so your boyfriend can hear your sweet voice and words any time he is missing you.

Mini digital picture frame: Purchase a digital picture frame for his keychain and download all the pictures you have of the both of you on it. If you don't have many of just the two of you, upload pictures of just yourself. You can find these anywhere from Amazon.com to Kohl's.
