Newborn baby boy homemade gift ideas?

Q. So my Dad and step mom are having an baby boy and I'm wanting to make them (the baby) something cute or something that he'll use. I was going to make a blanket but my aunt beat me to it, so I'm needing new ideas ASAP.
Also I don't live with my Dad and Step mom so I don't have a pictures but I'm visiting the week the baby is being born. Oh also I'm VERY creative once I get an idea I can make almost everything

Answer
Make a diaper cake or a gift basket. You can include almost anything in a diaper cake or a baby gift basket. You can choose a special theme for your cake or basket and come up with something very cute!
Here is a link on diaper cakes and how to make them: http://www.best-baby-gifts.com/how-to-make-diaper-cakes.html. For more unique ideas visit the diaper cake gallery on that page and you'll get tons of ideas.
Here a link for making homemade gift baskets: http://www.best-baby-gifts.com/newborn-baby-gift-baskets.html. Also see the section on speciality baby gift baskets. You can for example make a bath gift basket in the shape of a sailing boat.

The website has still more homemade baby gift ideas such as a handmade baby picture frame, a baby time capsule or a door plaque. I am sure you'll find something awesome to make for your step brother!

Hope that helps.

What are some great gift ideas to give parents of a newborn baby or a child?

A bunch of my friends are starting to have kids now, so I want to give them a gift that is really useful and thoughtful. I usually fall back on either a bib, little baby clothes, onesies, or a gift certificate to Target. Is there anything more unique or more useful I can get the parents? Are there any customized gifts that are good? Since I don't have kids, I am clueless! Thanks!

Answer
Newborns - DIAPERS DIAPERS AND MORE DIAPERS. I know it's boring, but it is VERY useful. Diapers are expensive and babies go through a TON. They are also ok if you get the wrong size, because they are very easily exchangable with or without a receipt.

Fantastic gift for toddlers - they have music CD's and books that you can order personalized with the children's name. Like my daughter (2 years old) has an Elmo CD that says "Come on Mia, let's play a game!" and she just LOVES it. She will listen to it over and over again...

http://www.justmymusic.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_music_info&cPath=1&products_id=5&gclid=CKr0g8zTkJcCFQFqxwodh1p6dA

My oldest (five years old) has many books that are personalized with her name printed into the story and she just thinks that is cooler than snot. :)

http://www.mychildbook.com/?gclid=COf78N7TkJcCFRJexwodhmG0Iw

Also a really nice gift that I have been given in the past was blankets and pillowcases with the children's names embriodered along the edges. It was very nice, and I knew they had put some thought into it. Don't know if you know anyone who does sews, but you should be able to find several shops that do it on commision as well.

Good luck to you! Hope I helped.... :)

About 2010 Christmas Gifts?

my parents said they got me 20 christmas gifts and im 19 years old i said you should of got me gifts like when i was 12 and under they was like your not a little kid anymore and things are more expensive when you get older i wish i had like more than 20 christmas gifts for christmas this year

Answer
Happy holidays, I hope you had a good one.

christmas question...?

Q. christmas question... okay so as a mommy i have had 3 past christmas times. my sons 1st christmas i lived at home with my mom so didnt have to pay bills other than my car and phone so my son got a lot spent on him for christmas and had A LOT of gifts. his second christmas the older ladies at work were talking about how they missed getting gifts for small children and would like to help out the associates with kids so they had employees with kids who wanted to participate write down their childs gender, age, clothing sizes, and what they liked. my son got about 6 toys and an outfit from that and i bought him 3 toys and an outfit. last year money was tight bc i was on my unpaid 7 week maternity leave so we had 1 income. my son got like 3 toys, a pillow pet, an outfit and had some candy/matchbox cars, and a dvd in his stocking. my daughter got a 2010 christmas teddy bear (since it has the yr she was born on it to keep as a keepsake thing and a little stuffed snow man in her stocking. .... so for 2/3 years our christmas's have been really small. this year im thinking of getting my son his first bike with training wheels (all he has now is a redflyer tricycle), a helmet, and an outfit (and stocking stuffers of course) and getting my daughter a baby doll, outfit, new shoes (and stocking stuffers) are my kids going to grow up thinking my christmas's stunk and were nothing special if they only get a small number of things? is it okay for now, but i should up the gifts as they get older??
also, my kids both have birthdays in the winter..my daughter is in november and my son is in february. they have huge birthday parties.

Answer
Well, our focus in regard to Christmas is on Christ. We do gifts, but we save big/multiple gifts for birthdays- that breaks the expense up, too.

I think that your children are getting PLENTY. Honestly, one year we did do a "big" Christmas- it was not meant to be that way, but I had bought more than I realized and they were overwhelmed by it all (not in a good way) and it was too much clutter to bring in at one time. Especially at their ages, keep it simple but even as they get older (I have four children ranging from 13 to 1) you do not have to go overboard.

Corporate Apology Gift Ideas?

mari m

One of our clients is really upset with us now due to a big "oops" by someone in our company. We want to send the client an apology gift. It's actually for the client and his seven colleagues. We're looking to spend about $150-$200. Any ideas as to what kind of gift in that price range could help smooth over this situation?

Thanks.

regards,
mari

Answer
I wouldn't give a gift of any kind. I think that sends a message that you think your clients are easily "bought." If a firm working for me did that, I would be insulted.

A very, VERY sincere apology from the boss, and assurances that it will never happen again, are what I would want. People make mistakes; it's a part of life. What's important is that we learn from our mistakes and try not to do them again.

Gift ideas for 10 and 12 year old boys?

infinitysb

Hi, I need some gift ideas for my nephews. Money is tight this year so I can't spend too much. My brother has decided to show me up and get them both a Wii, but he forgot about getting any games for it. So he said I should get them Wii games. I don't really like being bound by his gift, and all the good games I saw were over $40, even used. I don't want to get crappy games that they won't play. Anyways, I would rather get something more with a personal touch. The 12 year old is into his guitar and drums and rock music. He also likes sports, as a spectator, and is into nerdy stuff like Star Trek (thanks to his dad). The 10 year old is an animal lover, who doesn't like sports, and is into anime type stuff like Naruto, Inuyasha and whatnot. Any ideas would be greatly appreciate. Please try to keep it under $25

Answer
10 and 12 year olds are just the perfect age to spark an interest that they may gravitate to later in years and become a profession....The star trek boy may lean toward astronomy and become a Nasa expert..the field is wide open. A good telescope may spark a desire to know more...the animal lover may become a Veterinarian or animal biologist with great books about Jack and the Sea or the "crikey" guy (can't think of his name) and books about the little known world of animals. They may not thank you profusely now but later on, call you their mentor.

Gift ideas for 2 year old boys birthday?

mom of two

My son is turning two soon and I need help finding gift ideas for it. He has a three year old brother so my house is over run with toys. I'm hoping for ideas other than a the usual. Such as trucks, blocks, dinosaurs and so on. We like to read so we also have an abundance of books as well. Does any one of ideas that stand out and are different?

Answer
-Dress up for boys. Hats, vests, beards (style ideas: pirates, construction workers, lumber jacks, etc). I've seen those on Etsy and I think they are adorable! But that would add to the toys, but at 2 years they begin playing make-believe.

-Edible playdough. Make it yourself (google search or look it up on pinterest), or buy it from Etsy. Put it in a fun jar or tupperware. Eventually it would disappear either because he ate it or because he let it dry out. No toys to add to the clutter!

-Pop-up Playhouse. We got one of these for my son last Christmas for about $18. You can get them at most of the big stores (Target, Walmart, we got ours at Big Lots and I've seen them at Ross and TjMaxx). The beautiful thing about it is it's giant when it's set up, but the whole thing folds up flat in less than 10 seconds and slips nicely behind the couch. Easy clean up, big fun!

There's another great list of birthday gift ideas - it's for 1 year old kids, but most would still work for a 2 year old - like bath toys, sensory balls and stuff like that. It would be adding to the toys, but I thought it worth mentioning... at least for some more ideas.

Good luck whatever you decide!

I need good "Thank you" gift ideas for my Realtor.?

arcy

Our realtors worked extremely hard to sell our old house and get our new house. I need a good gift idea for a thank you gift to show my appreciation. (One for girl and one for boy).

Thank you!

Answer
The best gift is to refer friends to them. Other than that it depends what you want to spend and if you noticed anything they could use.

A gift card to a gas station would be appreciated by anyone. Something to help them with their job like a new Thomas Guild or GPS system.

I have it, a beautiful leather daytimer appointment book. they might have organizers on hand held devices but everyone can use something to hold scraps of paper.

Is it traditional to give gifts to realtor or buyer of my house at closing?

onearth

My house sale closes tomorrow Sep 15. I am the seller. Is it traditional to give gifts to anyone? There are 2 realtors, the buyer's agent who brought the buyer and my agent who handled the sale. And there's the lawyer. And then there's the buyer of course.

Answer
My realtor gave me a gift at the closing of each one of my houses, a gift certificate to a local garden store, some hand crafted topiaries.
If you wish you could give her a nominal gift, especially if you like the job she did, but it isn't expected. Much better would be a letter to her company, explaining why you were a satasfied customer.
A cute idea for the buyer is to have something in the house the day they move in, a card, some candy or cookies, if it is an older house, some pictures of the way it was.

Gift ideas for 13 year old?

James

He likes video games but he despises gun games like call of duty. He already has an IPad and a phone. The consoles he has are 3ds and his laptop but he says he doesn't want a new one.
He doesn't really care for clothes I don't know what to get him.

Answer
Since he doesn't like gun games so much and he has a 3ds then a Wii U could be a good idea. It has tons of games and is far cheaper than a xbox one or ps4. Although it's a home console that doesn't mean your son needs to hog the tv either due to features like off-tv-play where you can simply play the game entirely on the gamepad. It has great 1st party games such as The legend of Zelda, The Windwaker HD and Super Mario 3d World as well as lots of fun 3rd party games like Rayman Legends. Also if you are gamer yourself, but prefer more mature games then it can forfill your needs as well, with games like Zombie U or Ninja Gaiden 3. Wii u also comes loaded with entertainment features as well so you can watch all your favourite movies and tv shows through netflix, lovefilm, hulu plus or amazon instant video! Also if you live in America then Nintendo's tvii service is available to you to, soon to be available elsewhere as well. Those are the reasons I think you should buy a Wii U for your son!

I have to make holiday gifts with a group of 3 year olds?

NA

I recently took on responsibility of a group of 3 year olds at the childcare center that I work at. The former teacher was asked to step down for several reasons.

During December, there are MANY holidays that are celebrated - and I am to have the children make a holiday gift.

My first choice is having the children decorate babyfood jars with glitter and putting a tea-lite candle in them. Its something that all religions can appreshiate.

I was also thinking of having the children use Silver and Gold crayons, paint, and glitter - whatever they choose - on white paper. I would laminate the picture and put a cute holiday or gift poem on the back - and put a string through it for hanging.(The child care center's december colors - and winter colors)

Let me know what you think about both ideas.

Answer
these are great ideas. i like the second one best out of them. another suggestion to do is
1use sissors to pre cut constuction paper into doghnut shapes. (big enough for a small picture.)
2have the children decorate the frame with sparkles, paint, whatever they'd like.
3 take a picture of each of the children and put it into the frame
4 tie a ribbon on top of the frame so it can be hung
5 your frame would be done!

What is a good retirement gift?

Violet_Roz

I know a woman who is retiring at 65 and I want to get her a gift. What would be an ideal gift for her?

Answer
Think about HER, not just retirement gifts. Find an idea to feed her new Creativity, her Soul.

Retirement, tho a happy time, is also a bit of a downer -- new retirees often think "who am I?" and "what will I do now, every day?" The need to keep busy... others don't understand it until they are "there" and it happens. So many are totally surprised when it happens too. So think of something she can keep busy with.

If she has a hobby, or travel destination -- what about books? (with a personal message written inside, signed and dated) Think of what she does when she is away from work.

Gift certificate for Lunch WITH you (after she retires).

A local class on her favorite hobby? or even something new (crochet class or cupcake decorating classes at JoAnne's, for example).

Photos of everyone at work -- in a new photo album, or better yet, arranged in a new cool scrapbook (you could even stick in pieces of forms from work, and other things that fit.. whatever "work" was all about). Make it personal.

Amazon has some retirement bracelets and retirement sayings for her walls to commemorate her retirement too.

Gift ideas for teachers?

~* Petite

I had to have five of my HS teachers write me letters of recommendation for colleges and I would like to get them something to thank them. I was thinking like $10 each... do you have any ideas? They are all women, by the way...
In case you didn't notice, this isn't about Christmas... forgive me, I just thought I would get some good feedback here.

Answer
The best gift doesn't need to cost much. Teachers say a heartfelt thank you note is kept and re-read, and is one of their most cherished gifts to receive. So, you don't have to spend a fortune to give a gift a teacher will love. Something that can inspire teachers to become career conscious is a perfect gift idea. You can consider an inspiring book for teachers- âvision revision: the teachersâ master key to career successâ. Teachers like it because the book is primarily a teachersâ guide to career management and retirement careers. You can also consider one-year subscription to the Teacherâs Digest for your dear teacher.

HELP on idea for (funny) gift exchange?

Ip

I'm in this gift exchange and it's kind of a gag gift thing (whatever, it's supposed to be a funny joke) for example: fuzzy handcuffs or edible underwear
Stuff like that, so any ideas?

(it's for a girl)

Answer
I don't know if you have a limit as to how much to spend but an inexpensive gift could be a couple of magazines showing really buff guys, like a weightlifters magazine. Perhaps a gift certificate, if they have them, to a sex toy shop. When a friend of mine got married, his soon-to-be wife, at her bachelorette party, received a check for $50 from her sisters and friends, many of whom worked at a bank. She is a very tiny lady but the check was written on a pair of panties big enough to fit a 300 pound woman. The bank cashed it. Last year at Christmas a family member, an older guy, kept going on about how he hated coconut and anything with coconut or coconut milk in it. I just wrapped a fresh coconut for him for Christmas.

I need work gift exchange ideas for work?

laurie0802

We usually do a "secret santa" exchange at work. The only problem is that we don't know who will all be attending, and don't want to give a name and that person not show, like in the past. Do you have any ideas, other than everyone just bringing in a gift and putting it in a pile to pick from? We are an office of about 25 people. Thank you.

Answer
Make a gift basket you can do
cheeses, crackers and those rolls of meat
Movie basket -2 movies, some popcorn and a few big boxes of candy(like the ones you get at the movies) you can now buy them at the stores.
Chocolate lovers basket just put a bunch of kinds of boxed chocolate candy in the basket
Candy lover basket is with different kinds of bagged candies.
That way you don't have to worry if a male or female gets your gift, it works with either one.
A fun thing to do is play Dirty Santa - first person picks a gift, next person in line can take a new gift or take the first persons gift-if they take the first persons they pick something new,3rd person can take person # 1or 2's gift or get a new one off the table - you do this till all gifts are taken and everyone has a gift.
Hope this helps.

Any good gift ideas for office x-mas party?

mocisme2

-one of those white elephant things so i dont know whos gonna get it. (guy/girl, older/younger, ages 20-50's?)
- $35 minimum and i'd like to keep it under $50

Answer
Our office is limited to a $10 gift exchange that is wrapped and placed on a table. Everyone draws a number to grab a gift. If you are first and get a good gift, you won't keep it because someone else after you can steal your gift, then you get to choose again. If you get a stinking gift, you will take it home, or else drop it in the trash bin on the way out the door.

my friend is turning 21 and i dont know wat to get him...and no i cant get him alcohol because im only 19.

Answer
It all depends on you budget. If you would rather them decide, you can get him the Guy Gear Gift Collection Ensemble. It is a great selection of âboy toysâ for his workshop, den, office, and more. There are many other different themes to choose from and there is no price amount on it when you give it to him. Just an album of gifts for him to choose from. They just pick the gift, go online and say that is the one they want. They pay nothing. Just go to http://ribbon.arcameda.com and search around. When you go into an album, click on "View the Gift Collection" to see what the album contains. There are two ways to give them the gift, as an album with a gift card or just as a gift card. If you need any further help picking one, go to my profile to email me.
Some other ideas.
Luxury Gift Collection Ensemble which features a lavish offering of items for relaxing, cooking, fun, fitness, and more.

Delicious Gift Collection Ensemble that offers him a fabulous selection of delectable food items and handy cooking essentials.

Ribbon Variety Gift Collection Ensemble ($25) that offers a great selection of exciting items to make life more pleasurable, convenient â and fun.

Unique birthday gift?

Aravind C

From where to find unique birthday gift online. Any idea?

Answer
For a really unique and different birthday gift, have a look at a personalized Photo Collage Jigsaw Puzzle from jigsaw2order.com.

Just send the guys at www.jigsaw2order.com a collection of photos and specify any other hobbies or favorites she may have. 10-20 photos usually works best. You can also specify the words to a favorite song or poem. Based on your photos and input, let the professional designers at jigsaw2order.com create a unique photo collage layout for your approval before making it into a puzzle. Don't worry, you get a chance to review and approve the photo collage design before they make a puzzle. Once completed, it can be framed and put on the wall as a keepsake of the birthday.

anyone whos ever been 16 their opinions would really help.
thanks for the great ideas! im sure she would love any of them but i havent quite decided which to do yet or maybe a combination of a couple of them

Answer
If you're thinking Gift Card make it personalized.. not just her favorite store.. make it something she likes... does she want a manicure/pedicure, gift card it there... (I also like the idea of a gift card in a cute present like a pic. frame) Does she have a cell phone? Get her a phone case, or a phone stand...

Does she have her licence/car? Get her a decal, or a cute steering wheel cover, or a cd case or a gas gift card if she drives around alot......Does she like movies, gift card it at the theater... Take her go carting, mini golfing, out to a fancy fancy restuarant (her meal may be free, so youd just pay for yours) Get her something she usually doesn't get herself that she likes... a nicer perfume (Herbergers) an expensive dress, coat, purse, or shirt she's been looking at lately.... I'm sure you'll find SOMETHING!! Good Luck!

Do you have any great Gift Basket Ideas?

seashore10

I thinking about making gift baskets this year for Christmas for my son's great grandmothers.(4 in all) I only have a few ideas and I'm hoping someone could help me out--it would be great to start shopping now for some things.

1 grandmother is Hawaiian so I want her basket to be "Hawaiian themed" (She is a VERY PROUD HAWAIIAN! LOL! in case you're wondering!)

Here are some ideas I have:
mini-calendars/lotion/candles/a framed photo of my son

Can you help me out? The more unique and personable they are--the better! Thanks in advance!

Answer
A painting or drawing from your son, home made cookies, ornament with the year, name, etc, candy, chap sticks, puzzles, word searches, sewing supplies, empty picture frames, or personalized key chain.

Hawaiian theme-Hawaiian calender, hibiscus shaped candles, and or Hawaiian candies. Google Hawaii themed gift baskets and a lot of websites will come up and they have a lot of good ideas.

Also go to personalcreations.com and they have a lot of items that you can personalize any way you want. They even have calenders were you send them your photos and they make the calender using the photos you sent to them.

Small gift ideas?

Sarita

at my school we have this big sister/little sister program and I am a big sister and I want to get my little sister (an incoming freshman) a little gift. I was thinking of doing a little gift box, I just don't know what to put in it! Any ideas?

From her facebook I got that she likes sports, but can be girly too. She likes golf, throwing around footballs and soccer. She likes bands like Red Hot Chili Peppers and singers like Justin Timberlake, th beatles, foo fighters, etc.

IDEAS? Im desparate, I want to be a good big sis!

Answer
A gift box is great--sort of like a school survival guide.
One thing I'd definitely include is a list of things you wish YOU knew when you first started high school. Imparting your wisdom as a Senior will help your "little sister" navigate her way through her first days in a new place.
I'd also make her a mix CD of some of the music you like, to introduce her to some sounds she may not have been exposed to as of yet.

A few healthy snack foods--tasty energy bars, mini boxes of cereal, etc.--would probably go over well.

Some cute stick-up Post-It notes for her locker (or anywhere) will be useful as well. They have all sorts of cute designs now--check out their web site for ideas. http://www.3m.com/us/office/postit/products/prod_notes_sn.html

You can also throw in a cute pack of pens--there are always fun designs that beat the basic Bic, and they're cheap.

A small container of Purell or scented hand lotion will come in handy, too.

Good luck, have fun.

Creative Idea Needed for Awesome Gift to Wife - Part 4 of 4?

sam s

â¦my 15 yr old is giving $200, my 12 yr old is giving $100, and my 9 and 7 yr olds are each giving $50 (all their ideaâ¦and Godâs I think). Their contribution actually makes up the difference between the original and new price. I certainly donât need their help, but how cool that they want to be a part of this. So, we left the restaurant immediately and went directly to Jaredâs to purchase the pendant. Itâs beautiful!

So, hereâs where we need YOUR help. We are trying to think of a great, creative way to give this to my wife and their mom. Weâve thought of some ideas, but we donât think the right one has hit us yet. Wonât you help us? Please only serious replies. We want to make this as special as possible for a really wonderful woman.

Do we put it her cereal? On some roses? A scavenger hunt? Weâre open for specific ideas. Itâs a SECRET, so just reply here or to Ideas4Tree@bellsouth.net. Me and my girls are waiting.

Thanks for reading!
Sam

Answer
Hi,

What a great idea all of you had. I was trying to think of a good idea, and not knowing any of you it is a bit hard. I would do a scavanger hunt with a twist. First give her the first clue, the when she finds the second clue, include a photo of one of your daughters. Then she follows the second clue to find the next clue and another photo. At the end she should have five photos, one of each of you. On the back of each photo, have one word telling her the location of the necklace, like a puzzle. It could be "Look under your bed pillow." or whatever. Then have a photo frame to put all the photos together in a collage, so she can remember her own circle of love.
