gift ideas for 1st wedding anniversary?

c-lina

my husband and i will be having our anniversary on june 21.... we just moved to germany, so i dont know any good restaurants or romantic places, so what could we do for this special day, and what should i get him for a gift.... we are both 19 yrs old, any ideas?
any wild and sexy ideas?

Answer
This isn't wild and sexy but paper is the official anniversary item like silver is to the 25th anniversary or gold for 50th anniversary. So buy him something made of paper. It can be really nice if you think about this. If you don't know where any romantic places are ask around or look in the phone book. Rent a hotel room for a night with a hot tub. Go to the Black forrest and walk through the woods and have a picnic with wine. Buy or make a Black forrest cake to celebrate where you are. Buy a german dress and wear it to the picnic and bring good german beer and brats. Then maybe you can find a spot in the forrest and make out. Make sure to to pics because this day only comes around once. You could scrape book the pics and give that scape book page to your husband framed for one of his gifts on paper. Have fun.

Pokemon birthday gift ideas.?

Ryan

Okay, so it's my girlfriends birthday next week, and she really likes pokemon.
So does anyone know where i can get anything pokemon in oklahoma?

Some ideas:
Pillows, slippers, shirts, dolls.

Anything like that.
Please help.

Answer
Try stores like target or wal-mart. also a new pokemon game for the ds came out just this past sunday. there's soulsilver or heartgold. if she has one already and enjoys playing the games enough you could get her the other one.

eta: the game is actually only $35 on the ds, not $70 like the person below said. and nintendo ds' are only $120, not 200.

Boyfriend Birthday Gift Ideas?

Scarlett F

Hellooo.

I'm having such a hard time picking out a gift for him even though I know his likes. We've been together six months, so I don't know what going to far would mean. I also don't want him to think that if I get him something expensive, I expect something expensive back when it's my birthday.

Anyways, he's a few things he likes:

He writes music - Maybe a journal to write his songs in? I'm having a hard time finding a decent one online, any ideas?

He's a huge The Beatles fan. He likes 60's/70's/80's music but he has A LOT of CD's already. Wouldn't know what he has or not.

He's 23 btw.

He plays the guitar and the bass.

He's a shy guy for the most part.

He still uses his walkman and carries his cd's with him everywhere... I was thinking an Ipod? But... Would that be too much?

I also saw this The Beatles throw that I think he might like.

Please Help! Anythiiiing anythiiing will be of help!

Thanks! :)

Answer
Since he still uses CDs, you could be all old school and make him a mix. Put songs you think he'll like and songs that remind you of the two of you.

A music journal is a nice idea. Have you seen the ones that have blank sheet music in them as well?
Like this: http://www.themusicstand.com/64-Page-Six-Stave-Student-Blank-Music-Book-p/567781.htm

Or here is a nice music themed regular journal: http://gifts.barnesandnoble.com/Home-gift/Musicians-Black-Notebook-Manuscript-Paper-for-Inspiration-and-Composition/e/9780762403691/

I'm a fan of Etsy and they specialize in a lot of vintagey stuff so you may find some 60s/70s/80s music themed stuff there. It's all unique and make great gifts.

They have a ton of Beatles related stuff apparently! Check it out:
http://www.etsy.com/search?search_submit=&q=beatles&noautofacet=1

An iPod is always an excellent idea for a music lover but it's up to you to try and feel out how he'd react you getting him something expensive. But like another poster suggested, Nanos and shuffles are also great options! You can even get a Beatles skin for it!

http://www.wirelessemporium.com/p-ms-1177598-the-beatles---band-music-skins-for-apple-ipod-shuffle.asp?source=gbase

Whatever you get him, I'm sure he'll love it :)

Fingerpaint ideas! for 3 year olds?

LP

I need to do a cute and unique fingerpaint idea for my 3 year olds. We are having them printed for christmas gifts, and i want something creative! help please!

Answer
Bummer it's for x-mas. :-) We did a really cute Thanksgiving project...we fingerpainted a brown turkey body. Then we painted feet and printed them different colors and when dry cut out and placed behind the body. Then we added a picture of the child onto the body of the turkey. Glued it to a contrasting color. Some of the parents even framed theirs! LOL You can keep that idea for the future. :-)

Okay...so x-mas. Let them finger paint with green and maybe white paint. Then trace their hands and cut out. Make into a xmas tree. Another time you can let them finger paint yellow/gold on a mat/pan and then print onto a star. (Very neat...printing fingerpainting work). You may wish to add gold glitter.

You can also make those hands into a wreath instead.

You can provide red and white or green and white fingerpaint and let them do two papers and make a picture frame.

You could have them paint a small box and then fingerpaint/print their hands in a heart shape on top. Inside the box you could put "ornaments" that the child has made.

A Mailbox Idead: Have them make candy canes- you can have them fingerpaint a sheet red and then cut it into long strips and let them practice their own cutting. Then provide them 2 white candy cane shape and they glue the the red "stripes" on. Then glue on to the front of a card or onto it's own paper (green is a nice contrasting color) in the shape of a heart. Put their picture inside. Here's the poem they suggested.
Two striped candy canes,
As simple as can be,
Together make a heart
That sends love to you and me.

Good luck. Sorry I don't have more ideas. We don't do a lot with the holidays so I tend to not "collect" holiday ideas. :-)

Birthday gift ideas for a 9 year old boy?

Precious1

My long-distance nephew will be turning 9 soon. I'm unsure as to what to get him. I'm reluctant to give him a gift card because it's so inpersonal. What do 9-year-old boys like these days?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Answer
Nerf guns and water guns are loved by so many people and such a classic. However if their parents are the slight bit uneasy about the idea, go with something else. Other good ideas are video games, remote control cars/boats/helicopters and even kites. If his birthday is in summer, you could make him a summer fun back, with a basket and some sunblock, a fun beach towel, a hat with his favorite team or character on it, and some summer snacks (like fruit by the foot, ice pops, candy). Hope I helped!

Homemade gift ideas for my boyfriend.?

bgamer

I'm 18 and unfortunately low on money this Christmas and out of a job but I still want to celebrate Christmas and get my boyfriend a present. I'm just learning how to knit so I can make simple things for him, but I'm still a beginner.

He LOVES music and writes his own songs. He's also a writer and is in the process of writing a story. I have no clue what to do with that though. I'm really good at drawing, painting, baking (not cooking though, ha) and I'm in the process of learning to knit.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can do for him with all these things? I want to make it special for him since it's been such a rough year but I'm drawing a blank here.

Answer
Homemade Gift Ideas for Your Boyfriend

Cookie Jar
Favorite Coffee
Make Him Laugh with a Knit Condom
Homemade Meal (his fav)
Tile Picture

⢠Make a video
If you know how to use the editing and video software on your computer and have a video of the two of you, you can create a video with music and special effects.

⢠Create a playlist
Try to take his iPod from him and upload a special playlist you downloaded from Napster or iTunes. Choose songs that remind you of him and ones that you know he would like but hasn't downloaded yet.

⢠Picture frame
Buy a plain picture frame from a craft store that you can decorate. Put a funny or loving caption on the top or bottom and then place a special picture inside.

⢠Treasure hunt
You can make this as big or small as you would like. Have him find little treasures all around your town or just in your home and make the big, final treasure â you!

⢠Romantic evening
Make a special dinner he likes and turn your bathroom into a spa that both of you can enjoy.

⢠Collage
Create a collage of pictures he can hang on his wall. You can either handwrite or print out a poem to place in the middle and then arrange the photos around it. He can place it on his wall and stare at it for hours thinking about how much he loves you.

The Romantic Map

Yes, think of all the places where you guys went out together. The first date, the first movie, the first kiss, his favorite restaurant, the coffee place where you spent hours gazing into each otherâs eyesâ¦al this and much more. Make a map of your city, and mark all these special places. Use glitter, stickers and loads of colors to make your map attractive. In case you want to make it look like a real one, mark the latitude and longitude lines with a pencil. To give it a rustic look, burn the edges at the corners to make it look like an old map. When you are done, roll it up and tie it with a satin ribbon. To make it more interesting, place the map in a wooden chest that appears like a treasure box.

Photo Key chain

This homemade gift is quite a mushy and romantic gift, but it is also useful as a key chain. Collect some good snaps of the two of you together, and take small sized prints of all these snaps. Once you have the prints, get every snap laminated with a plastic coating to protect it from water and other damage. Now punch holes at the top of every photograph. Once youâve punched the holes put these into a simple key ring to create a very romantic personalized key chain for your boyfriend.

Memory Collage

The movie tickets from your first date, your high school snapshots, the egg shells from the day he made you breakfast in bed, the gift wrapper for your first gift, a tissue paper from his favorite coffee shop, the first rose that he gave youâ¦If you are the one who collects such things, then this is the gift idea for your boyfriend. Get a big cardboard piece and stick all these little memories on to it. Once youâre done sticking all the things, draw hearts and fill up the spaces with love messages and quotes.

The Ultimate Romantic Scrapbook

A scrapbook is a great way to capture the fond memories forever. In case you donât want to buy a scrapbook kit, just make customized scrapbook pages at home by cutting a chart paper. Use innovative ideas to decorate the scrapbook. Paste pictures, paper flowers, draw sketches, graffiti, quotes and your personal messages on every page. Use stickers, newspaper cutouts and sketch pens to decorate the book. Write what you feel about him, the way you felt when you first met him and so on.

The Book

I remember reading this idea somewhere on the net. It is an awesome idea sure to hit the target. This idea is for people who chat a lot using the Internet messengers. The idea is pretty simple, just copy and paste all your chats into a word document, get it printed on a good quality paper with golden edges. Hard bind the pages and make a book and give a romantic title, which should be embossed on the front cover. A book that contains your online chatsâ¦now thatâs romantic!

Handmade Knits

Some of you might find this a tad bit old fashioned, but go for it if you know how to knit. You can knit a great sweater or a muffler for your boyfriend. You can personalize it by adding his initials on the sweater to make him feel truly special. You can even create personalized hankies for him as a gift. It is a very romantic idea, and most guys would love it. Also every time he wears the sweater, heâll think of you and will instantly have a smile on his face.

Cookies and Chocolates

If you are a great cook, and your guy is a foodie, then this is the idea for you. A freshly baked pan of cookies will do the trick. Bake his favorite cookies and make them heart-shaped to make the gift truly romantic. You can toss the fresh cookies into a cute basket and top it with some ribbons, and a cute greeting card attached to the basket. You can also print a

Retirement Gift for a Woman?

Dee

I'm looking for a unique, clever retirement gift for my sister. She's finally retiring after 35+ years as a dental hygienist. Any ideas?

Answer
Jewlery is always best. It's a keep sake, and it will a reminder of you and her accomplishment of retiring (lucky her)

A nice pair of diamond earrings, necklace or watch would be nice. It's not often someone receives jewlery.

What is a good retirement gift?

Violet_Roz

I know a woman who is retiring at 65 and I want to get her a gift. What would be an ideal gift for her?

Answer
Think about HER, not just retirement gifts. Find an idea to feed her new Creativity, her Soul.

Retirement, tho a happy time, is also a bit of a downer -- new retirees often think "who am I?" and "what will I do now, every day?" The need to keep busy... others don't understand it until they are "there" and it happens. So many are totally surprised when it happens too. So think of something she can keep busy with.

If she has a hobby, or travel destination -- what about books? (with a personal message written inside, signed and dated) Think of what she does when she is away from work.

Gift certificate for Lunch WITH you (after she retires).

A local class on her favorite hobby? or even something new (crochet class or cupcake decorating classes at JoAnne's, for example).

Photos of everyone at work -- in a new photo album, or better yet, arranged in a new cool scrapbook (you could even stick in pieces of forms from work, and other things that fit.. whatever "work" was all about). Make it personal.

Amazon has some retirement bracelets and retirement sayings for her walls to commemorate her retirement too.

engagement party gift ideas?

itsme

I am the maid of honor and I have no idea what people give for engagement parties! They don't have a registry set up. They are in their mid-20's...any ideas??

Answer
Where are you from?
Engagement parties are gift giving events in Australia.

When I go to an engagement party I alway give a $50 gift card from a homewares store. That way they get to choose what they need and what matches their decor.

If you want to get them something a little personal, why don't you search through your photos, find a beautiful photo of the couple and have it framed. A friend did that for my birthday (a photo of my fiancé, our baby and myself). I loved it. By far the best gift and it was personal too.

Any engagement gift ideas?

Ness

Since I am going to be the best man for the wedding, I would like some ideas on what to get the couple for their engagement gift. I want to get something unique and thoughtful that they would both enjoy.

Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Answer
Any gift that the couple can use together and is wedding related is great! It really depends on your budget too...Here are some ideas:
If the couple is having a classy wedding you could buy them a gift certificate for dance lessons.
If they drink, you could get them a decanter from Tiffanies.
If you have a picture of the two of them, you could bring the photo to a local artist and have him paint the couple's portrait.
Couples tend to have tension during the wedding planning process so buying them tickets to a show, a gift certificate to a nice restaurant, or a gift card to a local adult arcade can help them enjoy being together without talking about the wedding.

Baby gift idea?

jack_98

I need suggestions for gifts for (1) a newborn boy; (2) his 4-year old brother; and (3) his 5 1/2 year old brother. I want to make the older brothers feel appreciated and not 'left out'. This is for an American family who, obviously, already has the basic baby stuff.

Answer
Newborn baby----a supersoft blanket to swaddle in this just getting cool weather. And books were popular with me when my little ones were born. Try Bear Snores On by Karma Wilson or Llama, Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney. Maybe a gift certificate for a local portrait studio?

4 year old and 5 1/2 year old----exactly the ages of my two boys so this should be easy. Let's hope that noisy obnoxious toys are out. Maybe a new cartoon that will help to keep them occupied while parents tend to newborn....Transformers toys and videos are extremely popular with my boys.....coloring books/crayons.....books to read to new baby would be great (see above for two of our favorites)......hmm....it's so close to Christmas now that it's hard to think of fun, yet practical gift ideas.

Also great for the entire family would be gift certificates for either home cooked meals or to a few local carryout restaurants. Or a gift certificate for a new family photo. Free baby-sitting couldn't hurt either.

Best of luck!

Gift cards?

staggmovie

I am not a fan of gift cards, I do know what they are and I know the fact is that people like to give them out as gifts, and I have been on the recieving end of them, but never on the giving end. It seems like that I figre that people give these out as gifts to wiggle thier way out of giving somebody an actual gift. So I will give out some questions here, and heopfully, I will get some good answers out of you. Wha do you think is the most popluar store that people buy gifts cards from? Why do you like to give them out as gifts? How much do they cost? Are they the same as the amount that you give out, usually it will be $25.00 is the abou the usual amount that people like to select. So were are talking about gift cards did you give them out as gifts this holiday season, and if so how many did you give out? Did you get any gift cards, and if so how many did you get?

Answer
I will give a K-mart card to a friend for a belated Christmas present, she will be thrilled, she'll love it, and a Walmart card to her daughter[she sews and they have yard goods]. One to another friend from the orange chain hardware store, that is what she wants and asked for. And one to Michaels to another friend, who is totally impossible to buy for.
The amounts are all for $25, because that is about what we spend on each other.
The first two are getting the cards because they had no money for presents this year, they spent the money on a nice family dinner, and on a gift for their preacher's wife who cooked a fabulous dinner for the whole church, and gave each head of family a pie.
I love gift cards, I have one waiting for me to go spend it, it's for $15, and is for Walmart. I'm as bad as a kid, can't wait to figure out what to buy. And I give them for that reason, people can go buy something useful, or put it with their own money to buy something bigger, or just go buy what they did not get for Xmas. I prefer to buy at the discount chains, so they can get the most bang for their buck when they go to spend it.
Illinois just past a law in which gift cards do not expire, nor decrease in value in this state. Cool! and Walmart already had that policy.
Among my friend's Walmart is the most popular choice for a gift card. We have a brand new superstore near, and the novelty of it has not worn off yet. One store I know charges a buck for a card, all the other stores it is free, one even gives out an envelope, another has a envelope that folds into a little box. . The stores make their profit for the cards that people do not ever spend. I forget how many millions the news article said the stores make from people do not use the cards that they bought, or were given.
I did not get any gift cards this year. But I have not had my Xmas party yet, it got postponed due to weather.
I gave the reasons above for the cards, impossible people, requests, poverty, kid in a toystore [me at Walmart] theory.
And yes, I still believe that it is much nicer to go buy a present, and wrap it up. If only my friends liked this idea, too! But I always either wrap the gift card, or at least find a gift bag, in a color they like.

I need a UNIQUE gift card idea!?

phlufster

We are exchanging unique gift cards and I need some ideas. It can't be for gas or Walmart, it has to be somewhere that you usually wouldn't go to, but if you had a $50 card you would. Some ideas I had so far are Omaha Steaks, a few nicer restaurants in our town and some online shops. I would love some input!!

Answer
You can find a lot of ideas at the Gift Card Mall. https://www.giftcardmall.com/ . How about a SpaFinder gift card for a facial or massage. For a guy, Home Depot. AMC theaters for a nice movie. DSW for shoes, the possibilities are endless. But, for a unique experience I would go to a nearby small gift shop or eatery to see if they have gift cards/certificates.

What is a good christmas gift ideas?

.x.Extraor

Answer
If youâre wondering what are good Christmas gift ideas, all you need to do is think about the recipient. Your focus on what they really enjoy will guide you to choosing the perfect present.
While some people may be amazed at the selection of luxurious items in the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, which debuts every October, that doesnât mean you need to spend this kind of money for every person on your list.

You can come up with a variety of unique gift ideas by first sitting down with pen and paper and mapping out who youâll be giving presents to this year. Then, draw up a budget. Does this make you Mr. Scrooge? No. In fact, the right kind of budget lets you expand on your creativity, instead of winging your way through the mall picking up any old thing on a sale rack.

Your gift list might include:

* Children, partners, parents, and siblings
* Close friends and special relatives, like grandparents, aunts, and uncles
* Your childrenâs teachers or sitters
* Neighbors, Sunday school teachers, instructors, and people who provide special services

Once youâve established a budget, you can think about what are good Christmas gift ideas for each individual. When shopping online, take advantage of retailersâ sites that help you by sorting items by price range â itâs a much easier.

What Are Good Christmas Gift Ideas for Family?

Time spent together and opportunities to explore individual interests are terrific ideas for loved ones.
[edit]
Children

When buying for children, choose activity-based games and kits that encourage the imagination and time spent together. For example:

* Kits for making homemade bubble gum or building cars. These often require older child or adult supervision, but itâs a different type of play.
* An all-ages board game.
* A portable keyboard with a wide selection of instruments and sounds so everyone can join in.
* A pass to a science center or childrenâs activity center for family fun all year long.

[edit]
Teenagers

Todayâs teenagers have special wants and needs that may differ from other children in the family. Consider these gift ideas for teenagers:

* The opportunity to throw a special party.
* An image makeover â works well for both young women and men.
* Tickets to a play or concert.
* Supplies to indulge a special hobby.
* An upgrade on a cell phone or mp3 player.

Keep in mind that while many of these gifts are great ways to spend time together, your teen may choose to share them with friends instead, or simply have a little âmeâ time. Donât put stipulations on the gift; just let them know youâre interested in joining them if itâs their choice. That option may be another gift you give them.
[edit]
Partners

Ask yourself, âIf I had one full day without chores/work/kids/other obligations, what would I do?â Spend all day scrapbooking? Finish building that flag frame in the woodshed? Go to an authorâs book signing or take in a game with some friends? Before giving your partner another clunky kitchen gadget or talking fish, consider giving your partner a new âhoney doâ list, as in, âHoney, do whatever you want this Saturday!â

Remember that before you were a wife or mother, husband or father, you were two individuals who enjoyed spending quality time together. When someone asks what you want for a Christmas present say, âTime alone with my spouse.â Arrange for another person to babysit or dog sit, and you and your partner spend a day or an overnight somewhere together. This type of gift will keep giving for a long time.
[edit]
Parents and Siblings

Each family shares a unique history. Think about memorable trips, occasions, and celebrations and put them together in a special book or scrapbook.

If this is a gift for parents, ask each of your siblings to write a chapter on one of their favorite family moments, or a collection of experiences. Each person can sort through photos or mementos, and donate a little to the cost of printing and binding so that each individual has a copy.

This doesnât have to be a one-time gift: build the book into categories such as âChristmas Times I Rememberâ or âLake Vacationsâ and make a new contribution to the book each year.

Another gift for siblings is to do something together you loved to do as kids. This could be a weekend trip to an amusement park or camping in the backyard.

Gifts for Other Special People

Friends and other people who enrich your life enjoy your thought of them during the holidays. Good Christmas gift ideas for them include:

* A gift certificate for a movie or lunch.
* A gift card to their favorite store or for a special hobby.
* Homemade food gifts you can personalize to suit a particular taste.
* A donation to a group or charity in the personâs name.

Another gift idea is to give of yourself. Maybe a new mother needs an extra set of hands, or your grandfather wants to learn how
