Christmas gift ideas! help?
Q. I need a gift for my friend, but I don't really know what I should get her!
- she loves art and is a great painter and drawer (but she already has a lot of art supplies)
- she loves movies
- she likes video games and computer games (she already has both oblivion's and zelda for the Wii, and sims)
- she likes to read (she likes books like Stephen King. i.e The Stand, The Talisman)
any ideas? Thanks!
*btw she HATES games that have anything to do with guns, like call of duty

A. Well you just put a whole list there!

Movie: Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows!!!
Book: 11/22/63 By Stephen King
Video Games: COD!!! Or Zumba on the Wii

Gitt ideas for a 9 year old girl. HELP!?
Q. She's very much a "technology kid"; however, I want to get her off of the PC and the Wii as she is overweight and needs exercise. She doesn't like playing outside or kicking a ball around, riding a bike, or roller skating. She, too, isn't very academic and has a fit at the thought of picking up a book or doing school work. I'm at a complete loss on what to get her for Christmas. I want to get it done as we'll be on vacation for a month in November and my plan is to have everything done and wrapped before we go. Please help!

Oh...she's not girly either. She won't wear jewelry, nail polish, lip gloss, sandals, or anything in her hair. I don't want to just do gift cards to places. I want her to have several things to open. I, too, am in charge of buying gifts from her grandparents so I'm clueless as to what to give from them and from Santa. HELP!!

You're only exercising the mind when you play Wii. She won't play Wii fit. She just wants to sit and play and not do much of anything else. I'm trying to get her more active. Her Mom did enroll her in dance class, of which I haven't heard how it's going, so maybe something to do with dance????

I need tangible gifts to wrap. Not just an outing somewhere. She has taken horseback riding lessons of which had to stop due to the cost. We, too, go to theme parks all the time since we live in Florida and have season passes.

Not crafty unless you sit down with her. Even then she'll rarely finish a project. I guess I should add that she's ADHD. She doesn't like putzy stuff but can sit for hours on end and play Wii. She does have Wii Fit of which she tried, realized it's tiring, and just tossed in her closet. We live in Florida, yet she can't stand to sweat!

I think she could be depressed also. She wants NOTHING to do with anything girly (has stuff for her hair, lip gloss, nail polish, etc. but refuses to do it but will watch me polish my own nails, etc.) and she absolutely refuses to do anything with books or reading unless she's stalling to go to bed. Then she'll put her book light on and read but doesn't want to be read to. She doesn't want CD's, but wants her own iPod of which her Dad or I would have to download songs and a laptop. I just can't fathom spending $500 on a laptop for a 9 year old.

A. Get her a Zumba dance workout video. If she likes dance she'll like this even if it is a workout. My friend is 12 and she loves doing this with her mom. Just an idea :)

10 pts Does anyone know activities to do that doesn't cost anything or doesn't cost that much?
Q. I'm 22 years old and I'm bored. My boyfriend and I moved here last year and I don't really have any close friends here. I can't think of anything to do other than to watch tv all the time. My boyfriend and I don't really have the money to blow going to the movies or going on shopping sprees. We both hate the cold. What I'm asking does anyone know activities to do that doesn't cost anything or doesn't cost that much to do to keep us entertained?
We have a wii and a ps3 but, we never agree on games so, we never play them. I didn't say we were completely broke we are able to go on vacation with savings but, I have a car payment and he has student loans to pay off so we don't do anything extra like going to the movies. We would like to do things at home without being completely bored.

A. this calls for bringing out your creative side! and that of your boyfriend's too! think of fun things you both enjoy. or just random activities and things you used to do when you were younger. :)

my long-distance boyfriend and i have come up with several ideas of fun things we can do when we hang out again, and i keep a running list of what we think up. some activities include:

-cooking a meal together/baking something fun (cake, brownies, etc.)
-going on silly or nature-like "photoshoots" around town (we're not really photogenic, but it sure makes for a fun adventure!)
-cloud-watching (lay on the grass and make shapes out of clouds)
-going to the local bookstore and "scavenger hunting" for certain books or just lounging there and reading interesting short stories with him
-hanging out in an empty field or stadium, better at night
-stargazing (grab a blanket on a nice, clear night and lay on the grass together to watch the night sky)
-sign up for a recreational class together (pottery or like a TON of my friends do, guys included, zumba...some type of dance/exercise thing, it's great XD)
-going for a bike ride
-making silly movies together (with a little camcorder or phonecam, you know...)
-going "free sample hunting" at grocery stores where they always display free samples of food (Target is great for this XD) and they don't mind...not much at least. haha
-scavenger hunting at a store, just for little trinkets that remind you guys of each other (again, more fun at night)
-learn a new instrument together, or if one of you knows how to play an instrument, teach each other!
-when away from each other, text each other pictures of yourselves doing whatever you're doing at that moment and the place that you're at (sitting on the porch watching the sunset, text a note: "wish you were here")
-find a place to volunteer together at (local nursing home or animal shelter or even a homeless shelter...play bingo with the oldies, walk some dogs together, hang out with sweet homeless children, etc.)
-make booksafes (find a book that both of you love, one for each of you, carve it hollow and decorate it as a safe for relationship keepsakes...cute pictures of you and him, gifts you shared, souvenirs from past dates and time spent together, etc.)
-snuggle up and watch favorite movies
-watching the sunset/sunrise
-making mix CDs
-video games XD
-if you're up for it, go paintballing or have a nerf swordfight, nerf gun fight, watergun/balloon fight (he will LOVE this)... and for more fun, fill the balloons with flour or paint instead :) (yea, we're such dorks. lol)
-speaking of paint, go painting! go crazy on a room in the house! or just paint pictures of places you guys visit together (or at least attempt to, i know i can't paint, but it'd be a fun experience, you know?)
-going for a drive just to blast both of your favorite music and sing/dance in the car XD or do that at home... :D
-write stories (however you like: funny, romantic, etc.) and share with each other
-go sightseeing in your own town...you never know what surprises await you. (and take pictures!)...in my town, there are these giant colored ceramic eggs scattered throughout and come Easter, he and i are going on an epic egg hunt to find them all and take a picture next to each one :D
-go camping or hiking or some other outdoors-y adventure-like thing
-play some fun sport together (ultimate frisbee if you can find at least 2 more players, tennis, catch, normal frisbee, football)
-mud wrestling... (more fun than you'd think!)
-swimming or snorkeling or fishing
-geocaching (this is a newly popular activity where people hide "treasures" throughout an area and attatch a GPS address to it that you enter into your GPS to find it) visit http://www.geocaching.com/ for info :)
-play childhood games together with a romantic twist (hide and seek and the seeker kisses the hider once found, etc.)
-tickle fights/pillow fights
-making pillow forts together and "living" in them
-playing board games
-finding new, fun places to kiss (doesn't have to be in public and nothing crazy or sexual)..we came up with me hanging upside-down on a tree and him standing to kiss
-going for a drive down a rarely-traveled backroad
-going mudding!!
-tree climbing :)
-visiting the beach/lake
-visiting a local park just to "be kids"
-local bowling alley, movies, arcade, city fair, amusement park/waterpark or other fun little venues like that
-window shopping

...and many many more! just be creative! and don't ever completely grow up! haha, most of these ideas are from us loving childhood days. XD sorry the list is so long, but i hope this helps!! :)
