Creative Xmas gift ideas?

Tanya

Hey. I've just finished school and I'm at home for about a week or so before I start working. So I really feel like getting creative. Any creative gift ideas for the coming festive season????????!

Answer
I made my friend a poster on the computer last Christmas... I found lots of images of things representative of things we had done and lots of inside jokes and photoshopped them onto a background of a place we used to hang out at as kids.... I then took it to the local printers and had it printed on proper photography paper and it looked really professional. I gave it to her with a little book with a little recount of each event the items represented... She has it framed on her wall now and really really loved it

Christmas gift ideas for a teenager ?

willsmith9

My girlfriend is 13 almost 14, so Bath and Body works is probably my best bet. I have no clue what to get her. She doesn't want a gift, but most teenagers are trying to be modest when they say that, so I don't know what good scents are. Whats some good stuff for a teenage from Bath and Body? Thanks!

Answer
I think you should get her a little stuffed animal or a bracelet or necklace. Why don't you just ask one of her friends?
also though, beware, if she says she doesnt want anything she might not want anything. Lots of times gifts at Christmas put too much pressure, and then the couple breaks up quickly.

christmas gift ideas?

Avery

Although its early, my 14 year old daughter gave me her christmas list, which unfortunately was very uninformative. Christmas shopping is not as easy as it used to be, and if anyone knows what I should get her, it would be very helpful. Thanks.
she is a dancer, and likes stores like urban outfitters and free people. I am not looking to spend ridiculous amounts of money, but I am not on a super strict budget either.
she is not into stores like abercrombie, hollister, aeropostale, and stores like that.

Answer
1. I think for teenagers, the most sought-after gift idea falls into technological or electronic products such as eBook reader, android tablet PC, portable game player, MP3 player. Amazon Kindle is the best selling E-book currently. And they have launched the 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire tablet at price $199. (check amazon.com to get the details)

2. As we know, girls are always fond of fashion clothes. A dress, jacket, blazer or jeans can be a good option. Think about which celebrity or fashion icon your daughter prefers and get a similar style dress for her. ( view at promgirl.com or forever21.com)

There is a wide variety of presents can be found online at relative lower and affordable prices than stores. You may check smarter.com or shopsimple.com to save money. In order to spot the most appropriate gift for teenagers, Remember you will have to choose something that is related to what they like doing and the kind of personality they have. Your present should be fashionable or cool, otherwise, teens might avoid using it.

First year wedding anniversary gift ideas?

b_holderne

I was surfing the other night for one year wedding anniversary ideas, and I found this really cool website. Long story short I can't find any of the information I wrote down about it. If someone can help me figure out the website I would really appreciate it. It started out w. asking you questions of how you two met, how he popped the question, wedding song, what your day was like, what you look like etc. The information is taken and your first year of marriage is drawn w. cartoon characters featured in front of 'buildings'. I know this isn't a lot information but I can't think of any more descriptive words. Any help would be wonderful and appreciated.

Answer
If you want to spend a little more time on this one you can gather up your photos, write up your story of how you met and got engaged and then publish it into a beautiful wedding memory book. MemoryPress will do this for you. Even though us guys act tough on the outside, when we get a thoughtful gift we melt inside.

My roommate is getting married this month and he is creating a wedding memory book for his fiance right now. He wrote his story of how they met and how they got engaged, then she wrote her story. Then Justin (my roommate) invited me, and all of his family and her family to the book to write their favorite memories about the two of them. When he is done, MemoryPress will ship them a hardbound color copy of the wedding memory book.

My sister also just got married in March. I have made a wedding memory book for her also. She wrote me a card thanking me for it. These books are completely personalized from beginning to end.

You should gather up all your photos. Get his side of the story (he will never expect) and then give him a wedding memory book.

Good luck.

Unique wedding gift ideas!?!?

Lindz C

My little sister is going to be getting married and my husband and I want to give her (and the groom) a really great and unique gift. We will probably pitch in with some of the wedding costs but we really want to get them something special. Any ideas? They are sports fans, they both LOVE music and movies, and they are pretty artsy people.

Answer
What's your budget here?

My husband and I are both sports fan and we have a room in our house with pictures. You know the large framed ones of your college's big game. For my school I have the national championship game that we won and he has a time they beat the biggest rival. Those large framed ones are expensive. Then on a smaller scale we ordered a framed picture on ebay of our hockey team. Here is a picture from the guy we ordered from.

http://cgi.ebay.com/2007-Stanley-Cup-Champions-Frame-Anaheim-Ducks_W0QQitemZ150186243514QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUS_SM_Fan_Shop?hash=item22f7cc35ba&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

You have your choice of pictures and then we ordered 3 pictures from him as well that we framed and have hanging around that one.

Since you say they love music, how about i-tuning a whole bunch of songs for them? You can burn a ton of mp3s on a cd that they could put on their i-pod. You could even borrow their i-pod and put them on there for them.

A year subscription to Netflix if they don't already have that.

Personally my favorite idea is the sports thing. You could get them some pictures for their wall, tickets, some gear like a new jersey car flag etc or even things for tailgating if they do that often. I know you can find some good deals on jerseys on ebay and many people are quite picky about having a "current" jersey getting new ones if their player gets traded.

I can't really think of much for loving movies, other than donating your time. My husband is an engineer and he always helps friends hook up their sound system.

I know for my sister I wanted to do romantic things--a monogrammed afgan with their wedding date, a gift basket for dinner the first night home (candles and spaghetti stuff though someone also suggested taco stuff), spa products, and a couple useful things off their registry.

You mention they are artsy but what does that mean? Is there anything you can make them? My FIL got me the best gift ever for Christmas. He made a puzzle shelf like at Crate and Barrel with the perfect size holes to display our items. We love to travel and to display things we've bought in those countries. If they like to make their own stuff, items for that would be nice. Paint, clay, or woodworking tools. Whatever the interests are. Though unless they do this together it seems more of a Christmas gift to the individual than a wedding gift to the couple.

Another idea is a picture of the two of them though it might be nice to use a wedding picture so you may have to wait on that but several companies take pictures and turn it into art. I've used www.mydavinci.com. It is amazing the skill they have and a nice oil paining is expensive.

One of my favorite gifts is some wines for the local wineries. I love to go to our local wine fairs and we have some really good wines. A wine fridge filled with wine would be a great gift but you don't mention if they are into that.

I hope this gives you a couple ideas at least. Unique is hard without knowing what others are getting them and what your budget it.

Christmas gift ideas for kids..?

SallY

We are stretched very very thin for christmas this year and will be getting a couple of presents for our daughters. I have 6 nieces and nephews to buy presents for and am wondering if you have any ideas on gifts that are affordable. I really wish i could buy very nice gifts for them but its just not in the cards this year. I sew and was thinking of making dresses for my nieces but have no idea what to get for boys.
Does it seem lame or like a bad idea to make a gift? I even saw a pattern for an imitation snuggy and thought i could make them with their fav. cartoon characters on them. Any ideas? Im sure im not the only one stressed about being able to afford christmas presents this ye.ar.
As for the adults, i hope they enjoy baked goods that i am going to make for them.

Answer
i think the homemade "snuggies" w/their fav characters on them is a super great idea!!! I made my girls those fleece blankets that you tie knots all the way around them last year: 1 tinkerbell, 1 high school muscical, and 1 hannah montana. my girls still LOVE their blankets to this day. they sleep with them every night, use them to snuggle on the couch and even take them with us when we go on long trips during the winter.

I think your nieces and nephews will love the snuggies. you could also make the knotted blankets like I did-there is no sewing involved. just buy 2 pieces of 2 yards of fleece material (one printed, one solid) for each blanket then lay them on top of each other on a flat surface. go all the way around the blanket and cut 1-2 inch strips then tie them in double knots. that's it you're done!!

hope this helps!!

Need cheap gift ideas for kids/teenagers?

I need some ideas for girls and boys ranging from ages 10-21! My husband has 11 nieces and nephews to buy for this holiday season. That can really break the bank, so we usually only spend about $10-$15 on them. In the past we've done movie tickets and iTunes gift cards, but looking for something different this year. We normally try to get them all the same thing too to be fair. Any suggestions would be great!

Answer
Earbuds; get them each a pair in their favorite color. For the girls, something from Bath & Body Works (get a few different ones and then they can trade), make-up bags. For the boys, cool hats, maybe? The earbuds would probably be best, unless they already have Beats or Skullcandy ones, or they don't have iPods. An iTunes or Visa gift card is always great!

Christmas Gift Ideas For 5 Year Old Girl?

My Brides

I like to think outside the box with gifts that I get my family for Christmas and I have the adults in my family all set, but now need to shop for the kids, meaning my nieces and nephew.

I actually have my nephew done. Everyone goes along with the same one or two ideas, and I don't like that. For example he will be 8 but he is obsessed with those little one piece non-flexible 1 to 2 inch army men and any accessories that go with them. My sister suggested I get things like an army tank or helicopter, but that got me thinking outside the box....

Instead of getting him redundant gifts, I got him a gift that I think he won't forget, which is a remote control helicopter. I think it's the coolest thing since it actually flies, and not just does it fly but this helicopter reaches heights of about 300 feet. It's pretty cool, check it out in this video, and if you like the idea I will tell you where to get it at a fair price. I don't want to seem like I'm advertising for this gift idea, so if you see this video and want to get this gift for a boy then email me and I will tell you where you can buy it online for under $100 - phillipbrunelle (at) yahoo (dot) com

HELICOPTER VIDEO LINK:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kLT8KnAZTw8&feature=player_embedded

So now what I'm wondering is what are some ideas for a five year old girl (again, thinking outside the box).

I'm looking for some ideas with a budget of up to about $75 to $100 but if you know of a $50 gift that's okay too, I just need some idea's for the girl's gifts.

Have you got a gift that is not too ordinary but that would excite a kid to get (like the remote control helicopter)? Or do you know any gifts for girls that are really popular this year? Share your gifts and gift ideas below... and please, for girls that are about 4 to 5 years old only, no boys gift ideas.

Answer
just seen the video for your nephews gift, you are a great uncle, that's a gift I would never forget as a child if I got!

For a girl at that age, it's the perfect age for a bike or scooter if she doesn't already have one, or by now if her personlity is showing, go off her personality for a gift idea that others aren't thinking of.

Like if she is paying a lot of attention to dress up and the way she looks, maybe try to see if there's a girls vanity set for kids about her age.

Answer
If you are asking for what gifts you can buy in Canada and sent over... I have no idea what your friend is like or what things interest her.

* Maple syrup.
* Smoked salmon.
* Canadian stuffed animals -- RCMP moose, bears, beavers, etc.
* 2010 Winter Olympic items -- jersey, t-shirt, mitts, mugs, etc.
* Red Rose tea.
* Native art work.
* Various Canadian t-shirts or hats.
* A collection of common food items you can't get in the UK -- just go to a grocery store and sent her O-Dutch potato chips, Quaker-bars, Canada dry gingerale, etc.
* Take a lot of pictures with a digital camera and have a picture book made of it.

What is a good gift idea for a best friend?

One of my best friends might be moving and I don't know if she'll still be at my school by the day after tomorrow. I want to make her a gift for tomorrow, but i have no idea what to do. Any cool and creative ideas? Thanks : ))))

Answer
One of the most amazing gifts i ever recieved from my best friend (who lives in another country from me) was a calender. For every month, she had stuck a picture of either her, me, or us together. It was for my 17th birthday back in 2010 and it was for 2011, but even today, in 2012, it hangs on my wall near my bed on a picture of the words 'i love *then my name is written here* that wasnt designated to a month. That calender means SO much to me. Maybe something similar for your friend?

Unique ideas for graduation gifts for my friends?

Kayla M

All of my friends and I are graduating high school in about a week or so and I can't come up with something creative to give to them. My group of friends has been a pretty tight-knit group all throughout middle school and high school - there's 8 of us. Everyone is making something personal instead of buying stuff. I wanted to do something with pictures or maybe involving the college that they're going to. But i'm not sure? I don't want it to be boring but i have no ideas! Please help! :)

Answer
I'm also graduating high school soon, and making a scrapbook for one of my best friends. I'm putting some of our favourite quotes in it, our drawings, photos of our high school years, lists of things (pets she would love to have if she could, favourite things, etc.) and just putting our memories in it. We've been friends since kindergarten, so I'm just putting all of our memories into one big book so she can look back on it in the future. We'll be in different provinces next year, so it's good to have. Mind you, you have 8 friends, so it could be a bit challenging. You could make small scrapbooks of roughly the same things, but personalize each according to each of your friends' tastes and styles.
Hope this helps!!

$10 or less Gift Ideas for 14 year old Boys?

Sweet Box

My daughter drew a 14 year old boy's name out of the secret Santa hat at her Kung Fu class, and I have until next Sunday to buy him something under $10. My daughter is only 7 so she doesn't know anything about him.

Open to any ideas. Whoever's idea I go with will be best answer. :D

Answer
Well, he's 14 so, i wouldn't go with a toy, because he's probably to old for that.(I'm a 14 year old girl). You could get him a tee shirt, or maybe a soccer ball? You could get him a box of chocolates? When I done secret Santa I got a guy and our limit was 15$. So, I got him a gift card for McDonald's and a chocolate orange, or you could a 10$ one, from like Tim Horton's or another cafe? Another option could be an itunes card, if he has an ipod or iphone. Hope I helped, Merry Christmas :)

Gift ideas for boys 7-9 years-old?

Leticia

My family and I "adopted" and orphanage, in Tijuana, Mexico, for El Dia del Niño. We need ideas for what kind of gifts to buy five 7-9 year old boys. We want to get them something that is not electronic (because they won't always be able to buy batteries and stuff). If you could give me ideas of what boys 7-9 years-old like, that would be great. Thanks.

Answer
Any type of building blocks, any kind of popular action figures, simple games where they don't need to read the English, outdoor equipment like balls, puzzles, crafts. At that age, kids still like most things even if its not some fancy name brand...I would imagine especially so for orphans. Whatever you can afford will be appreciated.

Ladies...need help with gift ideas for my wife for Xmas!?

idiot boy

My wife of 21 years (she's 41) is a knock-out gorgeous gal. I've bought her everything under the sun through the years. She drives a Mercedes, has the finest of jewelry, watches, etc.

Last Xmas, I went a little overboard and bought her the following:

Chanel J1 Watch
David Yurman necklace
White ski jacket with fur collar
Northern face "running around" jacket
Strongwater rabbit figurine
Ornate italian chandelier for our breakfast room

SO...any ideas on what I should get her this year? She wants an iPad so I'm going to do that, and some Uggs boots. What would just knock her socks (errrr....clothes) off?

Help me out here ladies!

Answer
iPad does not have USB port. Forget iPad, it's so last year. Get Nook Color which has USB port and is better for half the price of iPad from bn.com or any Barnes & Noble physical store or BestBuy or Walmart.
Nook Color specs:
- $249 with free shipping
- 7 inch Color LG Touchscreen 16 million colors with anti-glare coating 1024 x 600 delivering 169 pixels per inch.
- 8GB built in memory expandable to 32 GB with microSD card.
- 512 MB RAM
- Formats supported: EPUB, PDF, XLS, DOC, PPT, PPS, TXT, DOCM, XLSM, PPTM, PPSX, PPSM, DOCX, XLX, PPTX, JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, MP3, AAC, MP4.
- Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), USB port
- OS: Android 2.1
- Processor: TI 800 Mhz ARM Cortex A8-based, 45nm OMAP3621
- Nook allows to lend books for 2 weeks to friends or to your other devices that run B&N app. Barnes & Noble allows (when you walk in with the Nook to B&N store) to read any available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi. With Nook, while in BN store you get exclusive articles from top authors, and great offers including cafe treats and unique deals.
- Nook Color is better as a color e-Reader than Kindle simply because it has color and Kindle is black and white. Content that greatly benefits from color - such as kids books and magazines - looks much better and sharper on Nook Color's screen.
- Nook Color is better as an e-Reader in general than iPad. It has a new generation screen which is anti-glare coated and is better performing in sunlight than iPad's. Also, as it's smaller in size than iPad, the text appears sharper on Nook's screen. Also it has 12,000 (more soon) kids books that are built as a game with feedback.
- Nook Color has been picked as the editors choice by PC Magazine while pro reviewers of other sites (CNET, ZDNet, Engadget, AllThingsDigital, etc.) mentioned that it tested to be pretty fast for apps and PDF's, and has a beautiful screen.
- Overall, Nook Color is more than e-Reader as you can also watch video and use Android applications on it. It's a hybrid device, much more than just an e-Reader but not a full tablet as it doesn't have a camera. If all you want is to read novels, Kindle (or the original e-Ink Nook) might be better for you. If you want something more from your device at half of the price of iPad or Galaxy tab, then Nook Color is your best bet.
- Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for library ebooks.
- Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for renting text-ebooks.

50 year old birthday ideas and gifts?

Alex

Ok so my Fathers 50th birthday is coming up and im stuck on what to do for him im not sure what to do? If i should have his friends over or go out to a restaurant. Or anything please give me an idea to do or something also if u got any birthday gifts ( be reasonable) please respond here thank you!

Answer
50 years! That is great. Happy Birthday to your Dad. I would recommend a surprise party for him. After all, 50 years is a big one and why not celebrate it with other family and close friends?

What does he like? Does he need anything? What has he talked about that he wants lately?

I give my Dad gift cards most of the time since he is hard to please and doesn't need anything. Make him a card too.

my moms 50th birthday is coming up. . ideas for gifts she'd like ?

snoop d

she likes reading books, she likes romantic comedy movies and stuff like that. . . what would be an ideal gift.

Answer
If you really want to give her something she would use and like, try a manicure or massage. It's something for HER and most women love that kind of thing!
Gifts for women can be a challenge simply because of their various interests and hobbies. Women 50-65 years old can especially be challenging as this time in their life can be different from woman to woman. Many women at this age are preparing to retire or have retired, becoming grandmothers or are already grandmothers, and enjoying their womanhood at this stage in their lives. So finding the perfect gift may just take a little preparation and even a little research. Below I have provided a few ideas and options to help you get started shopping for that special woman in your life whether it be your mother, grandmother or wife.
Gift Idea #1: Many women at this age enjoy collecting photos of their family and friends. A photo album, scrapbook or even picture frames are always nice gift ideas. Adding a photo of your family will make her day even more. If she does enjoy scrapbooking, consider giving her scrapbook supplies such as decorative paper, stickers, glue, and other small embellishments.
Gift Idea #2: Clothing is always a nice gift to receive. Consider buying your special lady a new robe or a new set of pajamas. Many women don't think about shopping for themselves. So a gift like this will show that you care. Slippers or even a blanket are also great gifts to consider.
Gift Idea #3: A vacation just might be what the woman in your life needs. If she has just retired and is looking for a way to unwind after years of work, consider booking her a getaway with some friends of hers. Many cruise lines cater to this age group, and the options are very affordable.
Gift Idea #4: Books are another option if she is wanting to relax and enjoy herself. It has probably been awhile since she has sat down and allowed herself to read a good book. Consider a title by her favorite author or even a historical book of the area she grew up in so she can enjoy fond memories of her childhood.
Gift Idea #5: Give your special woman a spa package as a gift. Taking a day to pamper herself will make her feel extra special and renewed. A simple package could include a facial and a manicure, or you could go all out with the works of a massage and a wrap.
Gift Idea #6: Find out what kind of hobbies she likes. If she enjoys gardening, give her a gift basket full of gardening goodies such as seeds, new tools, sunscreen, a knee pad, and a gardening book. If she likes to knit, buy her some new yarn and a new pattern book. If she likes to cook, consider a gourmet gift such as a new cookbook, new cookware, or even a cooking class she has always wanted to try.
Gift Idea #7: Gift cards might be a good gift for your lady. If she has a tight budget or a fixed income, the extra support in gift cards are sure to show you care. Consider stores like grocery stores, department stores, gas cards, and even the movies. This allows her to buy what she needs and enjoy herself on occasion also.
Gift Idea #8: Consider having a family get together as a gift to the woman in your life who is 50-65. Chances are family members are spread out, and time together might be uncommon. Spending the day together doing an outing or making a special meal may be the perfect gift of quality time.
Other gift ideas that might be the perfect gift depending on her interests include: candles, exercise equipment, a collection of their favorite songs, a journal, perfume or bath products, a new camera, and flowers.

How do you help a 7 year old boy who has no remorse for his actions?

Natalie

Hi my name is Natalie and I am a step mom of a brilliant little boy. He is so intelligent that he is often bored in school (even though he skipped an entire grade and is still in all the gifted classes) and when he is bored he gets into trouble. But lately he doesn't seem to care what he does. He got in trouble in school last week for throwing a rock at another boy in school. His mom made him write an apology to the boy as well as his teacher (on top of grounding him for a month) but he he didn't want to sign it he just had a real care free attitude about he whole thing. We all explained to him how serious this is how he could really hurt other people but the bottom line is, he just doesn't seem to care. He has no compassion for anyone. I know kids can be selfish but to not even care if you physically HURT another person? We are at a loss... any ideas? Only helpful advice please!

Answer
You can't fix this. His parents can't fix this. And his teachers can't fix this. The boy needs professional help. And your family has a huge problem on their hands. If that 7 year old boy feels no remorse now, he certainly won't at 10, 13, or say 18.

He needs to be evaluated by a competent child psychiatrist immediately, preferably in a children's hospital, if possible. Don't let anyone get away with saying that this is just a stage the boy is going through as it isn't. He needs prompt evaluation and treatment before you have a sociopath on your hands. Take care.

Take care.

Need ideas for a 30th birthday gift.?

Scarlett

She's my husbands best friends wife.
Stuck up is too harsh of a word. She can be fun, but I will say she's very "PROPER".
She prefers the finer things in life. We are a family on a tight budget.
I don't know what kind of party this is going to be yet.
HELP!

Answer
OK, I would NEVER buy a gift to try and 'keep up with the Jones'. I like my gifts to either say something about me, OR that will be totally different to anything else the person will receive. Money does NOT talk (IMHO). If it was ME, I would appeal to the 'fun' side of this woman. Give her 30 X 30 'useless items' (Because people dread turning 30)......
30 X Spent Matches,
30 X Grains of sand
30 X Used lottery tickets
30 X Take away menus
......you get the idea. It wont cost much...but, by the time you FIND 30 examples of 30 useless things, and wrap them up in lovely wrapping...no one will be in any doubt as to how much THOUGHT and TIME has been put into it - and it will be NOTING like ANYTHING she will have been given before!
The last thing people with money appreciate is an expensive gft -if they WANTED 'that' they will have already bought it themselves! Appeal to the PERSON, rather than the bank balance!
Always works for me, anyway!

50th wedding anniversary gift ideas?

Aidan'sMom

my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary is this weekend. i would like to get them a keepsake as a gift, however, it's too late to get something that is personalized with their names (unless it can be written or etched somehow).
i need ideas on what i can get and where i can get it. links, if any, would be helpful.
my budget is limited (definitely under $50).

Answer
If you really want to get them a keepsake gift, try Things Remembered. They can engrave stuff right after you buy it, and they tell you to come back for it in an hour! Or, I've seen at a bunch of stores "then and now" photo frames. The say that on the frame, and have a place for two photos. You would put their original wedding photo in one side, and then a more recent photo in the other. If there is a party, you could leave the more recent side empty for now, take a photo at the party, and tell them you will get it developed for the other side. You really would have to google that to find a frame you like and is in your price range.

Or, you could get them a gift certificate to a nice restaurant so they can have a romantic night out.

I'm sure they will love anything you get them.

I hope this helped! :D

Gift Idea?? For a best guy friend?

anonymous

So, there's this guy ( of course.. ) except its not what you think. We are absolutely just best friends. We met three years ago when I transferred to his high school. We used to be inseparable, but recently we have grown apart. However we are still friends, but just not as close and we tend to fight (we never used to fight). But, he has helped me so so much throughout these three years with so many personal problems. He has especially helped me this year though through a lot of personal issues and he always helped me through everything, no matter when or where. And, I have to go to his graduation party next week, and I need a good gift idea.(we won't be attending the same college). And I was thinking like a gift card.. but then I thought a really personal and creative gift would be even better. I was thinking like maybe a long letter on why I appreciate him or like a little scrapbook or something.. but I'm not sure!

Can you please help me think of something that shows how much I appreciate him and love him (as a brother)?

Answer
your idea of the letter and scrap book is really nice.
It really comes from the heart and it's very personal.
It shows all the memories you shared and how
special your friendship is. I think you have a great
idea and I'd go with that. Just do both a nice letter
and the scrapbook. You really can't go wrong with a gift
from the heart. It will also be a reminder to him of your
time together as friends and all the time you shared together.

Good luck (:

Gift ideas for a guy friend?

Jenslvdr

He likes pink ( hes not gay FYI) but I dk wht to give/buy him.... Any ideas? Thnks, I appreciate all of ur answers!

Answer
Umm, skip the pink stuff. Just 'cause it's a favorite color doesn't mean that all gifts have to be that color. Would you or your bf drive a pink car or live in a pink house? Probably not. Go to Spencer's at your local mall and get him a belt with one of those big a$$ buckles. Or buy him the belt part and get him a gift card for the buckle. Guys love that kind of junk, but it's easier to tell their dude friends that their gf picked it out for them and that's why they wear it, instead of admitting that they picked it out themselves. Belt buckles are super cool. But no pink belts. Just a nice chunky black belt. And worse than pink, no white belts. Unless he drive's an ice cream truck or marches in a band.

i just graduated jr.high, and i want to give all my friends a small gift, maybe something homemade. whats a good idea?

Answer
How about a homemade picture frame (graduation related) with a picture in it of you and your friends. Or they can put a picture from graduation day in it later. You can get the supplies from a craft store like Micheal's or the Rag Shop. A photo album is another idea.

Answer

gift ideas for newborn boy?

AM2000

A close friend of mine is scheduled to deliver her first baby in march and I just found out she's having a boy. I want to start buying her things early because she and her hubby are moving relatively soon. I have no kids (yet) so I have no idea what to buy. I know for sure that I want to buy her a wipe warmer since we live in Colorado and our winters are cold. I also know that I am going to buy a baby tuxedo suit because its going to be so adorable. What would you recommend buying?

Answer
I have to agree with the ones that say a tuxedo is not very practical. It is a fun gift for a photo shooting but nothing to wear every day for a baby. So I'd think about this once again ;-)

As for the wipes warmer, I never needed one for my 3 kids but it surely is a practical gift idea. To decide which one to take I'd see the reviews on amazon first.

If you want to browse some special baby boy gift ideas, this website will give you lots of tips and suggestions (they do not sell anything but just want to give advice): http://www.best-baby-gifts.com/baby-boy-gifts.html

A diaper cake also might be a nice idea, since it always is an eye-catcher, easy to make and a handmade gift always is more personal than 'just a bought one'. And diapers are always needed. You can attach baby clothes, cuddly baby toys, baby bottles, baby bath accessories and baby care products to the cake. The same goes for a gift basket. The a.m. website also shows you how to make a diaper cake and how to make a baby gift basket.

Good luck!

19 Month Old Preemie...Easter gift ideas??

Mom of One

Yep, I'm one of those Mom's that wants to get the next holiday done right after the previous one (Heart's Day). Does anyone have any good gift ideas for a 19 month old. She's delayed though and is around 12 months developmentally. She doesn't need anymore toys! So far I have a Pooh Easter board book, some bubbles, and a little chick that chirps. Any other ideas? She doesn't quite grasp the concept of coloring so coloring books and sidewalk chalk are out. Thanks for your thoughts!

Serious answers only please!!

Answer
I'm thinking books is always a good way to go. I know what you mean about not needing any more toys though! Books, bubbles, those little wind-ups toys...sounds like you've thought of everything I can. =P

A cute outfit and the Easter basket with the stuff you mentioned will be plenty enough, in my opinion. You could get her those little plastic eggs and put some little toys or treats in them for her to crack open and "find"...kids love that kind of stuff.

Have fun!

Birthday on Easter Sunday? Gift idea?

dorky123

We are attending a Birthday on Easter Sunday...and I would really like to tie in Easter and Birthday together in my gift. So I was thinking about a basket filled with books a bunny and small toys. It's for a 1 year old girl. Any ideas on something cute I can do to add to my idea or a new idea?

Answer
I use to have a girlfriend who was really into cows and I had found a card in the shape of a cows head, and a paper with black cow spots. So I took black yarn and braided a tail. I wrapped my box in the black cow spot paper, taped the card to one end of the box without the envelope and the tail to the other end. I think you can do the same only as a bunny, Either find a card of only the bunny head or cut one out you like of the appropriate size and but Cotton balls on the other side for the tail. Unless you can find a large hollow egg (the kind used in window displays) and put the books inside of that wrapping a huge ribbon around the seam of the egg. You may have to hot glue some of the ribbon down. Gift wise I think your good.

Answer
Found this, Should be helpful:

Aries (March 21 - April 19)
Active Aries is always looking for ways to stay in shape, particularly during the holiday season... so athletic equipment is usually a good choice. People born under this sign are also fond of the color red, so a cranberry scarf or a scarlet hat could win their favor. If romance is in the air, let Aries know that you put his or her needs first. Buy tickets for two to a sporting event you loathe... or a CD by an artist you can't stand... to win big points with your favorite Ram.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus appreciates any gift that appeals to his or her sensual side. A box of gourmet chocolates, a richly colored tapestry or a soft cashmere blanket are all great options for Bulls. This sign also enjoys having money to play with, so a gift certificate to their favorite store is a welcome option. Always remember that quality is more important than quantity â Taurus would rather have a small bottle of expensive cologne than a carafe of the cheap stuff.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)
Quick-witted Geminis enjoys gifts that appeal to their sizable intellects. A challenging book is always welcome, as is a magazine subscription. This sign rules the hands, so some scented hand lotion or a sparkling ring might delight. Geminis also love to entertain, so a set of glassware might fit the bill. If you want to splurge on a special Twin, give them the latest cell phone or PDA, so they can keep in touch with their gazillion friends.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)
Sentimental Cancer loves gifts that have personal meaning. Handmade items always delight, whether it's a finger painting, angora sweater or mincemeat pie. This sign also has a special affinity for silver â a monogrammed hand mirror or picture frame would be very well received. Since Crabs have an affinity for liquids of all kinds, a special bottle of wine, a fancy cappuccino maker or a shiny tea kettle are also good possibilities. And don't forget that these Moon children love the domestic arts â a cookbook specializing in comfort food is another sure winner.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)
Lions love gifts that make them look and feel terrific. Hair accessories, cosmetics and grooming items are all good choices for this image-conscious sign. Leos love drama, and enjoy presents that involve a bit of flair. Opera tickets, gold jewelry or animal print lingerie are right up this cat's alley. Leos also love to gamble, so a sheaf of lottery tickets or a weekend getaway to the casino could make them purr with delight. When shopping for clothing, remember that Lions have a special affinity for red, gold and purple.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22)
Virgins love practical gifts...so avoid dust-catching baubles. A bread-making machine or a power drill would be equally welcome. These folks are also known to pride themselves on their impeccable appearance. Scented soaps, lotions and shampoos made by an earth-friendly company might be just the ticket. Virgos are also incredibly organized and might appreciate a good watch or a leather-bound date book. Or try a health-conscious basket of organic foodstuffs.

Libra (September 23 - October 22)
Librans have a special affinity for music, and always appreciate a good CD to add to their voluminous collection. If you want to do something really special for a Libran friend, splurge on a two concert tickets â this sign hates to do anything alone. Born beneath the sign of the scales, they also need plenty of balance in their lives, so a pair of candlesticks or bookends might appeal. If you're still stumped for ideas, have a lavish bouquet of red roses delivered accompanied by a loving handwritten note.

Scorpio (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpions are secretive by nature and enjoy gifts that obscure their appearance in some way. A pair of designer sunglasses, a filmy scarf or a slouchy hat are all great choices for this sign. These mystery-lovers also enjoy moody, atmospheric stories. A collection of film noirs on DVD are sure to go over well with your favorite Scorpion. The rumors concerning this sign's sexual appetite are happily true, so seductive lingerie would get plenty of use. Since Scorpions also like to get beneath the surface; a gift certificate for a deep-cleansing facial will be appreciated.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)
As far as Archers are concerned, half the fun of getting gifts is ripping them open! If Sag doesn't like a present, though, he or she will tell you outright. Avoid awkward scenes this holiday season by giving this outdoor enthusiast some camping equipment. Hiking boots or a water-proof parka would also be appropriate. These animal lovers adore any gift associated with their pets. A calendar filled with pictures of dogs or horses is sure to elicit a big smile. Finally, you can always feed this sign's wanderlust with a comprehensive atlas.

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)
Career-oriented Capricorn always enjoys gifts that will boost their job status. A leather laptop carrier or monogrammed briefcase would be welcome. Contrary to popular belief, though, Goats aren't all work and no play. This sign is blessed with a wicked sense of humor, so try the BBC's "The Office" series on DVD. Capricorns also love luxurious presents they'd never buy for themselves, like a silk bathrobe.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)
You never know what this unpredictable sign will be doing from moment to moment â one week it's skydiving and the next it's yoga! Still, this quirky sign always appreciates technological gadgets, whether it's an all-region DVD player or an iPod Nano. If you'd like to choose something a little more personal, why not make a photo album detailing all of your exploits with the Water-Bearer? Aquarius may not show it, but they harbor a special fondness for their friends. Still stumped for ideas? A basket filled with brand new socks is both weird and practical enough for this sign, which rules the ankles.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)
These mystics love gifts of all kinds, but especially ones that help them escape the harsh realities of life. A bottle of champagne, a kaleidoscope or a book of fairy tales will appeal to your Fishy friends. And because Pisces is a Water sign, it's a good bet they'll appreciate bath salts, foaming cleansers and shower gels. If you'd like to give something really special, a digital camera will make a bit hit with this natural-born photographer. Looking for a romantic gift? Choose a gilt-edged volume of love poetry.

Cheers!

I wanted to buy my wife a gift. No event. Just because. Any ideas? Thank you for the help.

Answer
a surprise indeed.. it would be a lot better if you'll make the gift yourself, not just buy-wrap-give gift. make it personal, at least. you can also prepare a romantic dinner for you two. or maybe you can buy something unique, something she wouldn't easily see when she goes to malls, boutiques, etc. and have a letter for her, write how much she means to you.

Gift ideas for a 18month old?

K02

What are some great gifts for a 18month old girl?
I have been to several toy stores already but just couldn't decide what to get. What do/ did your kids enjoy at that age?

Answer
My son is around this age. He'll be 21 months at Christmas. Some of the things we've gotten him:

Little Tikes stand alone slide
A sit and spin, the musical one
some curious george stuff (he loves it and discovered it recently. we got him the movie, a stuffed "george" and a few board books from the series)
some art stuff (he loves to scribble with crayons and do finger paint. we included a smock in that bundle as well as an easle)
Fisher Price pretend camera
a learning laptop by Little Tikes
a ride on Mini Cooper (geared for 2 and up, Costco Online)

We'll fill his stocking with things like a juice box holder, some cars to play with, tub toys and little things like that. He gets a single, small chocolate santa in his stocking since we don't want to load him on extra sugar with all the treats around the holiday that are all ready there.

I found some great money saving things for the holiday's this year:
* check grocery stores for things like juice box holders, crazy straws, sippy cups in fun designs, kids table ware and even stick on tub letters and things. You'll save money.
* Toys R Us door buster sales have everything in the whole store practically on sale with deep discounts and buy one/get one deals. You can really do more with less $$ on these which is how we got a ton of little tikes stuff from toddler MP3, trucks, etc.. for practically nothing to what we'd pay normally.
* KB TOYS online has free shipping on alot of things and big sales up to 70% off.
* check online deals at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us,

Anniversary Gift?

girl_to_ta

OK, so my boyfriend and I will have been together one whole year in July. We met when I lived in his city. I moved back home (about a 9 hr drive) 7 months into the relationship. We continued to do that long distance relationship and now we're hiting the one year mark! It happens to fall on a week day. I cant go visit him until the weekend. So, do any of you have any suggestions on what I can send him on the actual day of our anniversary? Do guys like recieving flowers?

Your help will be greatly appreciated!

Answer
um, i dont think guys like flowers. and i guess its kinda too old fashioned. here r a few ideas:

if he's the kind of guys who like to play boardgames, this one is a great game, it looks really fun:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=613&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D613%26occid%3D936&pid=69222

u can buy it thro dat website and it's cheap too. and u can also put a pic of u and him on the board game too, and dat would be even more romantic:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=613&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D613%26occid%3D936&pid=115173
u can have a nice dinner and play the game.

u can also buy him a digital photo frame, it's kinda pricey but u can find the cheap which is about $70.

or if u want to be even more romantic and want to show ur feelings here r some ideas:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=614&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D614%26occid%3D936&pid=70343
and write a card for him dat says"i love u".
and this one is really romantic also:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=614&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D614%26occid%3D936&pid=124692
omg! and this one is so cool and romantic and cheap too:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=615&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%
2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D936&pid=25932
and this one is so sexy:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=615&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D936&pid=61053
but dont buy dat for him, if u havnt had sex with him. cuz u wouldnt want him to think dat u want sex!!!
and here's a blanket:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=615&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D936&pid=101625
and here's the black one:
http://www.findgift.com/cgi-bin/Gift_Wizard.cgi?m=Show_Gift&genid=301&whoid=1727&ageid=615&occid=936&sr=1&gpp=24&p=1&RURL=%2Fcgi-bin%2FGift_Wizard.cgi%3Fgenid%3D301%26whoid%3D1727%26ageid%3D615%26occid%3D936&pid=101632

and if u dotn like non of these, here's the website:
http://www.findgift.com/

dont forget the wine bottle. and dotn forget to tell him, cuz it'b be really awkward if ur the only one who brings stuff and he dotn even remember it.

6 Month Anniversary gift?

Sarah

Alright, so coming up in about 2 weeks will be my boyfriend and my 6 month anniversary. I know typically this is a "big" anniversary and people tend to get each other some sort of gift. I've never actually been in a relationship this long, though, so I've never really gotten to the gift giving part. My question is, what do people usually get for each other?
Details: My boyfriend and I are both 18. Although its only been 6 months I feel like I've found someone I want to be with for life. Unfortunately, we are in two different states right now and will be on our anniversary because we're off at college.
Ideas for gifts? What have you all done before? What do people typically get one another?
@Tim....he's 1001 miles away. Sex isn't gonna work out....
and I don't have the ability to spend tons and tons of money..
if it helps he's a huge hockey fan/player as a goalie and he's a drummer.

Answer
Think of something that is useful and he can treasure forever. I suggest you get him an accessory box where he can store his stuff. Not just a great gift, it's unique and help him organized too. My sister got me an accessory box from MarqArt and I love the design! Until now I use it to store my stuff like watches and keys. Check their collection, awesome stuff and very classy.

What are some gift ideas for an 8 year old boy?

Zoe

My brother just turned 8 a week ago, and I'm totally stumped on what to get him for Christmas. All he wants is pokemon cards and mini sticks, but he has a load of both and I already bought him pokemon cards for his birthday.

He spends a lot of time on the computer, wii, or watching TV. I know he would like getting a computer game, movie or wii game, but I don't really want to get that because when I was his age TV was a treat, and I want him to have fun with his imagination before he grows out of it.

Any ideas? He especially likes pokemon, and hockey. He already went through his hot wheels, spider man, and transformers stages, so those aren't really options...

Thank you!

Answer
I think he would like a Nerf gun they are realllly good fun my 7 year old has a few different ones and me and my hubby join in the fun with him its good :o)
Also the prices range from under £10 right up to nearly £100 so you can get one to suit your price range good luck and Merry Christmas :o)

Crafty Easter Baskets
Craft supplies are easy items to slip into an Easter basket. Put in crayons, markers, glitter glue, modeling clay, or anything that will keep your little one happy and creative for hours on end! Kids love to create things and by offering these items as gifts, youâll be helping their little minds develop while keeping their teeth clean and sugar-free!

Educational Easter Baskets
Another great way to spark the kidâs imaginations and to keep them away from all of that sugar is to place books in the basket. For smaller children, large board books with colourful pictures are a great Easter present! They will enjoy looking at the pictures as you ask them, âWhereâs the bunny?â For older children, place in a book from their favourite series, or a book that is related to a topic they are interested in. Placing a book in the basket that is all about Easter and the meaning and traditions of the holiday is a nice way to celebrate the day and to keep the basket festive!

A Gardening Easter Basket
An Easter gardening basket is a terrific idea for kids. Place in the basket some non-sharp gardening tools and some seeds for the child to plant. If you live in a warmer climate, you can plant the seeds on Easter Day or you can buy some small pots and place those in the baskets as well. Just as they love to create things, they will love watching the plant or flower thrive and blossom because they made that happen!

Easter Baskets with Toys
Place some outdoor activity toys in the basket that can be played with while you are outside with your child planting seeds. Things such as skipping rope, sidewalk chalk, and croquet sets will keep the sugar-highs down and will encourage physical activity. Plus kids love being outside and running around to burn off some steam!

Festive Easter Baskets
To keep with the festive theme, place some stuffed bunnies or chicks in the basket. This is especially useful for very small children that may not benefit a lot from seeds or outdoor play sets. These stuffed animals can be found just about anywhere during Easter and they come in very playful Easter colours such as soft yellows, pinks, and greens.

Bath Time Easter Baskets
For kids who love the bath, find some special bubble bath, bath crayons, bath foam, and shampoo to slip into their baskets. Itâs very easy to find these in characters that kids love, such as Disney characters. They will love to squeeze Winnie the Poohâs head to make special soap squirt out and it will keep them healthy at the same time!

Indulge and Teeth-Care Easter Basket!
If you really canât see filling a basket without one sugary treat, place a small chocolate bunny or other Easter candy in the basket. Just make sure that you also include a toothbrush, toothpaste, and other items that can be used after they are done eating the sweets! These can also be found in special kid-friendly characters!

My aunt is turning 50 next month, and to welcome her into the new decade, I want a funny make-fun-of-her-age present. I need ideas.

Answer
A great present: have her portrait made in graphic, pop art or avatar style, depending on what you prefer: http://www.printyourcanvas.com/photos-on-canvas-gallery-popart.asp
That will make her feel young as this is modern.

Gift Ideas?

KatiesMomm

Hi everyone, my neice will be 3 years old next month, and I need a cool gift idea. Would like to keep it at $50.00 or less. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
Come on guys, don't be jerks.

Answer
My daughter turned 3 in February. She loves dress up. Target has great dress up stuff - dresses, shoes, crown, jewelry. Or Lillian Vernon has dress up trunks ready for you to buy. Check out their catalog or online.

She's also starting to love Barbie. She's loves the dancing princesses. You could get her Barbie twelve dancing princesses DVD and a doll.

Toys R Us has a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse for $40 bucks if she likes Mickey Mouse. My daughter loves this.

Disney.com has some stuff on sale. Pajamas and personalized towels. My daughter thinks it's great that her towels have her name on them.

Play sets are wonderful right now.

And I'm always in favor of books. Just make them more fun by pairing them with a matching toy. For example, something Dora (which 3 year olds LOVE- the Dora princess is especially cool) and a Dora book. Or get "The monster at the end of this Book" with a stuffed Grover or "Another monster at he end of this Book" with a stuff Elmo.

Good luck!
