Help need to get gifts for kindergarten class?

Q. Every kid brings a gift for every kid in the class, so my son would be bringing 20 gifts, as everyone else. The total amount of all gifts should not exceed 5 bucks. It can be different gifts for boys/girls. Can you please give me some good ideas? They will be individually wrapped.
I believe the idea is they will get a bunch of little things and that's more exciting than trading one gift.

A. Here is a place for inspiration with gifts http://gifts.bestsantasletter.com/

how do I come to terms with finding out I can never have children?
Q. I'm 25 years old and want children with my husband more than anything in the world. I'm very open to the idea of adopting or other options. What I'm asking for right now is advice on how to come to terms with my current situation.

A. Well, the option of visiting an adoption agency or an orphanage (do they even exist?) has its pros and cons, but both should help you come to terms with your situation.

The con would be those feelings of anger at the parents who could have children and wasted the opportunity, who treated their kids so badly or gave them up. A lot of anger and resentment can come from that. It may be something you have to go through anyway, get it "out of your system".

After that, look at the children in a different light (here's the pro). I believe that infertility is just a way of making adoptive parents. Parents who want so desperately to care for another child that they would take on somebody that they didn't have to, to choose a child to love and volunteer to be that childs parents forever. What greater gift do you have to offer a child than that? There are many children who need a loving home, especially children over a year old (everybody wants a baby).

My mom was adopted, and we have since found her birth mother (when I was in kindergarten). She has discussed her feelings with me when I was older. When I was born, she was angrier than ever at her birth mom for giving her up. "how could somebody give up their own child?" But when my sister was born, she realized that her birth mother must have hurt terribly to be separated, no matter what her circumstances would have been. She sought out and found her birth mother, and continues to have a loving relationship with the mother who raised her and her birth mom.

You have a wonderful opportunity here to be a parent. I chose to marry a man with 4 children from a previous marriage, chose to be an instant mom at the age of 20 to them. I thought for a few years that I couldn't have children either, even considered adoption if I was not able to conceive, but I now have a beautiful baby boy. You might get that outcome, you might not. Either way, you will find peace one way or another, and I hope you can find it without too much heartache.

How can I get my son to stop talking?
Q. My son is now in first grade. In Kindergarten, he was always in trouble for talking. Today, I received a phone call from his first grade teacher - he's gone from being in trouble for talking to kids to talking to himself and kids. He's a very good boy and the only problem he has in school is talking. I've tried reward charts, talking to him, etc. Any suggestions?

A. Mine now 8yrs and a third-grader hads struggled with talking too. His doing better this year so it just took time for us. I got reports from teachers that mine would actually get up and walk around the room as well. I don't know enough backround on your child to say much but I can tell you what has worked for us. I found that for mine and I got alot of ideas from Dawna Markova's book Smart Parenting Revolution, that first you are not doing anything wrong. Your child is expressing himself. The excessive talking may be a sign of a little anxiety. Try walking him to and from class. Lots of hugs for no reason. Visit his classroom unannouced and stay for lunch. Try one on one time, like in the car to just let him talk and talk even if you lose track of what he is saying. Tempature can be a factor too, sometimes kids are more chatty when they are cold (Dress in light layers that can be removed if to warm). Also know that what seems like a problem now could be his greatest asset later in life. Your son has a wonderful gift and if he is like mine he will have some teachers that don't see it and others that totally get it and will help him use his gift. Good Luck and hang in there.

My daughter is graduating from high school. What do parents do for kids on such an occasion?
Q. What to wear in the graduation day
graduation party?
Any speacial thoughtful ideas?
She will not go to a far college
thank you :)

A. Many moms/women in this location wear sundresses to the high school graduations because they are outdoors. Dad's/men wear dress slacks/polo's or button up shirts, but i've seen more casual looks on men and women.

As far as a graduation party goes, its up to you. I had a cake with my Kindergarten and Senior picture on it..it was cute. My mom invited family and friends and we had a Barbeque outside..just a small gathering, it was nice. My mom started a scrap book of my school years when I started Pre-school and she kept adding to it and personalizing it until I graduated and it was a total surprise, I knew nothing about it until I opened the gift bag after my graduation...talk about tears lol. She gave it as a gift at my graduation party. My dad bought me a car for graduation also..I was working a full time job at the time and I was going to be commuting to college the first year, boy was I excited lol.

My mom and dad also paid for the expenses for my senior week trip to the beach.
