What do you buy a 9 year old boy for christmas?

Baby Boo

I'm looking around the $20 price range! need ideas help.

Answer
What I like to do when ever I'm buying a present for younger child is to shop relatively cheap, that way you can get them more things, most children are too young to really understand or be offended by the price of their gift. I like to go to like a dollar store or a dollar general, and I take how ever much money I have and spend it all on toys like magnetic dart boards, planes, nerf footballs, things along those lines. Usually I throw in a bag of candy with their gift. This way when the child opens his gift it will seem like he's getting lots of things and you can do that all on a small budget! Best of luck and have a merry Christmas!

what to get a 9 year old British boy?

Kaila

Please tell me , what would a 9 year old English boy like for christmas? I am thinking of spending around 200 pounds on a gift. What is kudos these days?
suggesting alcohol for a child even in joke is out of order. my question was genuine. His parents have split up and his mother has frankly moved him away from out of his comfort zone so he is not really a very happy little boy at the moment

Answer
Depends on the boy. Ask his parents.

Gift Ideas?

Jessie j

I have a birthday, an anniversary on thanksgiving, and chirstmas comming up. Does anyone have any good gift ideas?

Answer
We'll, you've certainly got a lot on your plate there. For the birthday, it always matters what kind of person we're talking about. Your spouse/girlfriend - see below, regarding everyone else, best way to start is to consider any personal interests of him/her you know about for a moment.

People always consider those gifts most valuable that they didn't even know they wanted, but are related to something that they are passionate about. Things that scream "I'm thoughtful".
The second best thing is something that made you think about that person, or relates to the personality of that person in any other way.

This is of course a little hard to find out if you don't have that much inside in the persons everyday life, so here are a few more general ideas you can always consider:
a) Books are a good place to start, as long as the person actually reads (ok, that's an obvious one).
b) DVD's and other media also provide an entertaining experience, and the person you give them to can even share the experience with you.
c) Gift Certificates are a good choice, if you're a little creative and know the person well enough, you have nearly unlimited options on what to provide a gift certificate for. You can even go as far as organize a full day trip that way. This is of course most appropriate for good friends, your girlfriend or your parents. Buy-able vouchers for things like indoor climbing, trips to the cinema, a circus or a theater play also make very good gifts.

Girlfriend/Spouse specialties

With girlfriends, jewelery never wears off as gift. It's rarely used anymore, especially nowadays where people are always in a hurry and don't believe in there own ability anymore to choose something his or her partner would like.

It's easier then finding perfumes, for example.

Actually, jewelery and gems are one of the easiest gifts, because you just have to go shopping with her a few weeks before the actual event and keep taking your time in places and shops where she can check out the display. All you have to do is pay close attention to what she keeps looking at, and you'll have more options than you need for her quicker than you can imagine.

The best way to shop for jewelery, however, especially if you've got a limited budget, don't have much time, no Ideas what to get her at all or mixture of all of the above, is to start looking within online jewelery stores. This page should provide you with a good list for startes, which covers shops from all pricing ranges:
http://jewelerystores.weebly.com

Adventure gifts are generally extraordinarily well received as well, that's why I included two links below. But they are also a tad more expensive.

If you need more detailed tips, be a little more specific on the persons you need the gifts for, and maybe also the age range for the respective persons.

Best regards,
Thorsten

Gift Ideas for a Friend turing 30?

I have a friend, a girl, who is turning 30 in a month. I am struggling to come up with something fun as a gift for her. Any ideas? I would like to keep the gift under $30. Thanks for your input!

Answer
How about a gift made from Swarovski crystals, such as jewelry or a crystal miniture? Swarovski is a well known name that is associated with elegance. But many of their items are not very expensive.

Christmas list ideas under $30?

c

Our family is low on money right now so my mom said I can get a few items that are under $30 for Christmas. I don't know what to ask for and there's not much that I want, but I know if I don't ask for something my mom will buy me something random and waste money on something I don't like. I'm 13 years old, turning 14 in January, and Im a girl but I'm not very girly. I don't wear makeup.
Thank you so much for everyone who helps me!

Answer
Dvd's, Cd's, books, magazine subscriptions, cute PJ's, slippers, photo albums, candles, gift card to your favorite restaurant, Dunkin Donuts/Starbucks (if you're into coffee) Good Luck and Happy Holidays! =)

Gift ideas for my mom?

E. E

On Mother's Day, I made this big slideshow with pictures of our family and a little biography on her, and she said it was the best gift anyone has ever given her. I'm trying to top it on her birthday. I decided to make her a basket with 52 things in it (she's turning 52). She's very family oriented, she's very religious, she has a good sense of humor, and she loves hand-made things. I need some ideas on what to give her. I barely have any money, so I would need to make practically everything. Please help
I've already done the photo album/biography thing. I still plan on doing a picture frame, but I need some other ideas.
I don't want any picture ideas. No scrapbooks, no photos, no picture frames. I want different ideas

Answer
You can get one of those collage picture frames, the ones that are big with many openings. Some have different sized openings and some are the same sized openings. You can get them in Kohls, Walmart, Michael's, etc. Anyway, you can get one of those frames and put pictures of her and you, and her family in it, through the years, but leave 2 of the openings blank, one to write Happy Birthday and the date, and the other to take a family picture together on the day of her birthday so she has an updated picture, a most recent one, and one the picture is printed out, you can add it to the frame. She can hang it on the wall and it's like a scrapbook for the wall. She will love it. It can hold pictures of her and her family throughout the years, pick her favorite pictures, or the pictures you think she would like the best. The frames are inexpensive too!

You can also make her a scrapbook. These days you can make them in just about any size, 12x12, 8 and half by 11, 8x8, 6x6 and even 4x4, you can put a picture on one side and the journaling and embellishments on the other for the smaller albums and the smaller albums only take a few hours to do. The smaller albums, like the 4x4, she can even carry with her! You can even get those small ones that hold wallet sized photos and if she has grandchildren, make her a grandchildren's album with the picture on one side and the embellishement on the other.

You can also make her a picture frame, if you go to the crafts store they have the frames that you decorate. You can get one of those, decorate it with paint, stickers, glitter, etc, and put a picture in there of you and her together.

They also have picture frames for scrapbook layouts. They are 12x12 frames, they are wood, so you can even decorate the frame, and what you do is make the 12x12 scrapbook layout and then frame it in the frame and hang it up! You can get them at Michael's and AC Moore, where they have the regular frames and right in the middle of the glass of the frame it will say scrapbook frame. Then you can go to the scrapbook dept. and get the paper and supplies, make a layout and put it in the frame and decorate the frame or leave it the way it is, and give it to her that way.

Michael's and AC Moore, and possibly JoAnn's also sell a line called Bare Elements and they are boxes, like jewelry boxes, albums, etc they are white and you can decorate them and make them for gifts.

I hope some of these ideas help and that your mother has a very Happy Birthday!

Gift idea for a mom?

Fiona

I wasn't sure what section to put this in...so I apologize if it's the wrong section.
I have a great friend who is due any week now with her second son...her first son is about 15 months old and will soon be going through open heart surgery...this will be happening not long after she gives birth.
As far as I know she doesn't need a whole lot of stuff for the new baby (she saved everything from her first)...I just can't think of something to get her that would be helpful for her newborn and for her son going through surgery.
I appreciate any ideas/suggestions.
Thank you

Answer
Ok, if the mom doesn't need anything maybe get something for her son that is about to have open heart surgery, maybe a blanket, or a stuff animal. YOU can get the mom something with a nice saying on it to let her know you are thinking about her. My son had open heart surgery when he was 5 weeks old and my friends wrote me little says and stuck them in a jar and when I Was sad or stressed I would read them. A lot of them had quotes from the internet. Sometimes the best gifts are the ones that come from the heart and home made. Good luck and I will keep your friend and her family in my prayers, I know what she is going through. My son is 5 today and he won't need any more surgeries.

What are some idea's for long-distance relationship gifts?

Jacob

I live in New Zealand and she lives in England and we've only really just decided to try this long-distance relationship thing and to give it our best effort. But i'd like to surprise her by getting her something and i'm not really sure what it should be.
Does anyone have any ideas? Anything would be much appreciated.
Oh, and she's 17, turning 18, if that helps.

Answer
I'm in a long distance relationship, I got my boyfriend some perfume (Boys) It was hugo boss red, and he really liked it, so maybe an expensive perfume gift box set? If not how about a small home made gift box? Like a shoe box decorated in wrapping paper and girly shit, and then stuff it with a small me to you teddy some bath stuff? a card, some little cute stuff, If you think a home made shoe box thing is too tacky, how about finding a box... Not sure if you were looking for something like this but it's all I could think of:)

Any ideas for gifts for my long distance boyfriend?

Anyssa Bar

I have been dating my current boyfriend for a year and a half now and he's a year older than me. He went to play baseball in Louisiana and I live in El Paso texas. We did the whole long distance thing great and it's done some good and bad to us. We're bothe getting ready to leave to college and ill be playing softball in oklahoma while he is coming to play back in Texas:) we're only five hours apart now but I really wanna continue to keep that spark between us. Any ideas to how and what I could do for him before he leaves and after he's gone?

Answer
Long distance really sucks :( especially on those bad days.
What I would suggest is maybe making something personal, drawing a picture,a cute letter etc.
What my long distance bf has done is buy us matching bracelets, were both into studs and those kinds of things but you could get identity bracelets with an inscription? It's a great thing to do and your boyfriend can have it for ever.
Good luck and keep me posted? :)

Christmas List Ideas, 2013?

Maggie

I really don't now what I want for Christmas and everyone is bugging me about it so they can shop early. I'm a 14 year old girl, if that helps. I have a few things but I don't know if I really want them or not and plus I might change my mind. Anyway here it is.
-Grey Vans
-Our Moment Perfume
-White Converse
Brown Riding Boots
-Onesie from One Piece
-Black Combat Boots
Clothes from American Eagle, Charlotte Russe etc.
-Urban Decay Naked 2 Platte
- Cruiser Beach Bike
I also want a MacBook but I don't think my parents want to spend $1000 on me because there are 4 other kids in my family. I heard you could get some for cheap on eBay but I don't want a used computer.
Don't think I'm getting all this from my parents, I'm also getting some from my Grandparents and other family members its just a combined list.

Answer
Since you asked for the UD Naked 2 palette you could look online at Sephora & Ulta for other little makeup gifts - the Sephora Favorites collection is especially great! They have huge samplers of mascaras, lip products, etc. and you get to try a lot of new brands.
I recently got a new pair of riding boots and asked for some leg warmers or knee-high socks to have peeking out of the top of my boots - it looks super cute
Jewelry-wise, midi rings and stackable bracelets are in. You can find them at Forever 21, PacSun, Brandy Melville, Nordstroms etc. If you're looking more high end there's a Pandora charm bracelet or rings, and Fossil has some really cute necklaces.
A new coat or some cute scarves
Nail polish, body lotions and scrubs, face masks
Any new electronics you might want - if a MacBook is too expensive maybe a tablet or a cheaper laptop. There are supposed to be a lot of good Black Friday deals on laptops
Instead of just the one moment perfume you could ask for a gift set of it, if they make any (usually come with lotions and a rollerball or something like that)

I hope this helps!

Top 15 things a teen (13) year old would want for Christmas 2013! please I need help!!

Answer
Yikes.. That's not too much information!

1. New phone (iPhone, Samsung, etc.) http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cell+phone&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Acell+phone

2. Stuff for their room? New bedspread, pillows.. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_kk_1?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Abedroom&keywords=bedroom&ie=UTF8&qid=1384402909

3. Makeup? http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=makeup

4. Hair stuff, nice shampoo/conditioner. http://www.amazon.com/gp/search/ref=a9_asi_1?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Ashampoo+conditioner&keywords=shampoo+conditioner&ie=UTF8&qid=1384402936 I SUGGEST PAUL MITCHELL TEA SHAMPOO OR BEDHEAD.

5. Headphones (Nice ones.) http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_72_0?rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aheadphones%2Cp_72%3A2661618011&keywords=headphones&ie=UTF8&qid=1384402979&rnid=2661617011

6. New clothes, some sites for this: forever21.com etsy.com polyvore.com (Look at create for some cute clothes. There's great stuff there!)

7. New animal..??

8. New Laptop.

That's all I got, hope I helped.

My personal wants

9. Bow and Arrow, you can think about it, if the thirteen year old likes the idea, they need to pick out the type of bow they would feel the most comfortable shooting, and some target practices.

10. Punching bags, totally sounds different but it takes out my stress. I need a new one, but some people should start out with http://www.amazon.com/Everlast-Style-Training-Gloves-Black/dp/B000JF6LUE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384403233&sr=8-1&keywords=boxing

Everlast is a great company for boxing, from my personal experience. I do suggest a hanging one, instead of one on the floor. Unless you can try putting water or sand into it, to hold it down better. But otherwise, hanging is the way to go, if you have short enough ceilings (I have to use upstairs for this, unfortunately.)

Hope I helped!

Answer
Frankly, it sounds like you've got a great gift plan already. :)

But⦠other ideas might be:
socks (toe socks with funky print can be fun)

cheap earrings (in the states we've got Claire's⦠donno what you have, but a pair would be about 5 dollars (which, I think, still translates pretty closely into euros. Maybe 7 euros?))

Books (my friends are a bit nerdy. Fun things like blank journals with uber cool covers, or the next novel in a series they love (especially good idea to buy a manga book since they tend to be more expensive than a novel and so are more of a holiday treat), a sketch book for art friendsâ¦

â¦Books I loved as a pre-teen: Tamora Pierce series' (Protector of the Small is my favorite, but The Immortal series is for animal lovers (All of Pierce's books feature strong female characters and are set in a medieval fantasy world)), the Mediator series (girl who deals with ghosts. Very fun), Dealing with Dragon's by Patricia Wrede is hilarious fantasy.

Candy is always a go. :) (unless they're dieting, in which case it's good to avoid for politeness sake.)

hand made cards add a special touch if you're good at art. I make drawings and down size them to a fourth of a page with a copy machine. Collages, stamps, paintings, computer graphics all work. Making them yourself just adds a back-ground feeling of extra individual attention and personal thought/effort.

Band stuff - like posters, tee shirts, CD's, etc can be very fun too. Same goes for anything a friend is currently obsessing over. When by BFF was in love with the Alice in Wonderland book she loved even little things like a small pin or a pen with a photo of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter on it.

If you go the gift-card route, I'd advise choosing a specific store for it to go to, it shows some extra thought than a generic one does because there always the risk with gift cards of the gift feeling rushed and last-minute and as if the friend put no thought into it (which isn't often the case, but it can come across that way)

Cheap make up - like lip gloss, nail polish, maybe a funky color of eyeliner - can be fun to stick in with a candy bar. It makes candy feel less thoughtless (because just candy can also feel like a generic gift card) and is something they can actually use (which little junk like a cute stuffed animal might not be). Hair things like a colorful scrunchy or barrette can be fun as well since it's not something they would normally buy for them self but can also be worn with casual things as just a crazy fun accessory.

If they have a passion, like dancing or horse riding, it can also be a nice gesture to theme a more basic gift (like a blank note/sketch book) to their passion. Such hobbies can also be great places to start shopping. For example: thinking of my friend who loves to work at the Humane society with rabbits, I could go from there and look for the basic with an additional rabbit connection, or I might find a cute saying about rabbits that is on something she might like to put on her desk - she just moved so it's a bit sparse. Or maybe I find a cheap five-page kids book instructing how to fold origami bunnies. Little unique things like that can really cutesy-up a basic gift.

I hope this gives you some ideas, but really, your idea is pretty solid as it is - the wrapping sounds cute, and mugs are always usable. As pencil holders if nothing else! :)

Hi folks,
I was going to get something for my best friend witha budget of 30 dollars, and I was wondering if you had any ideas... He like photography, but has a camera already (idk wat model) and he is a swimmer on his school team, so maybe something having to do with swimming might work... He has an original xbox, but he really doesn't play it all that much although i know he likes it... Any ideas?

Gift ideas for a 5 year old boy?

Kate

My son, Noah's birthday is coming up, and I just cannot think of anything to get him. I have been to numerous stores, searching for his "big present," and then I buy him a bunch of little things. A "big thing," would be something that costs less than about $300. And the small stuff I just get from the dollar tree. He likes cars and trucks, and stuff like that. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

you can stay in your budget and get him one at walmart for 189$ for a 4 wheeler or go wild and spend a little over 300 for the jeep.you cant go wrong and it make a very big gift.

Gift ideas for my 9 year old daughters birthday?

Dixie

She turns 10 next week and I'm clueless as to what her main gift should be? I've already got a basket full of little things, clothing, games, hair accessories, makeup, etc... but I always get a substantial gift to go along with all the little things. Any ideas? (She's really not into toys anymore and already has a phone and mp3 player)

Answer
So hard! I have a 10 year old daughter & I had no clue what to get her for her birthday & I have no clue what to get her for Christmas. It's just an awkward stage I guess. For her birthday, I didn't get her a main gift. I just gave her a bunch of random stuff like you've done so far. She was perfectly fine with that. Maybe you could get her some shoes/boots or a new coat or something if she needs it? That usually all they're into at that age. Maybe an inexpensive digital camera if she's pretty responsible with stuff? They have some really cute pink ones & girly ones at Target for around $100 or less. Good luck!!

My youngest is 9 and he loves anything lego, lego star wars, lego city, Agents, bionicle, anything like that. I got him a new Bike helmet and an erector set and a puzzle and a few other star wars toys and things. I also got him a new DS game.

Have you ever heard of devil sticks? I got my son a pair, his older brother has them and my kids love them. It's something creative for them to do and they are fun. My older son got pretty good at it. Here is a link to where you can buy them and a link to a video of a kid using them.
