I need a cute, creative cookie recipe to use as a birthday present for a 9 year old boy. Any ideas?

Q. Needs to be cute and taste good!

A. I like the cookie bouquets for birthday gifts. You don't have to have cutters to make the shapes...just make the shapes from paper and lay the pattern down on the rolled out cookie dough and cut around it. To put the cookies on a stick you can just lay the stick on the back of the baked cookie and pour some melted chocolate over it....this will "glue" it to the cookie.
I used to work in a cookie bouquet shop and I have a very good icing recipe to use for the decorations. I also have 3 real different cookie recipes for rolled out cookies...you can choose which you would like.
This is a link to a cookie bouquet idea:
http://www.clevercookie.com/happy-birthday-to-him-cookie-arrangement.html
......after the chocolate has dried and the cookie is attached to the stick you can put the sticks in a block of styrofoam to hold them in place.

CUTOUT COOKIE ICING
3 egg whites, at room temp.
Whip 2 min., fast speed or until stiff.
Add:
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 tsp. vanilla
1 lb. powdered sugar (1 box)
Mix.
Add,
2 TBS. Crisco
Mix on low speed until smooth.
(if you want to make a glaze from this, just add a little hot water to it so it is thin enough to dip the cookie in or brush the icing on the cookie.

CUTOUT SUGAR COOKIES
set oven temp. at 375°F
1 1/3 cups shortening (I use butter or margarine)
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
(optional, 1/8 tsp. each, almond, orange, lemon flavors)
2 eggs
2 1/2 TBS. milk
4 cups flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Cream shortening, add sugar and flavorings and cream together.
Add eggs and milk. Cream.
Mix flour, baking powder and salt together.
Add flour mixture to batter. Mix just until incorporated.
Cool in refrigerator 1 hour or more. Divide dough in half.
Roll out to desired thickness. I make mine almost 1/2 inch thick. Most people
make them 1/4 inch thick.
Cut in shapes and place on cookie sheet. Reroll the dough with the rest of the dough.
If you do not plan to ice the cookies, sprinkle with sugar. Otherwise, leave plain.
Bake at 375°F for 6 to 12 minutes, depending on how thich you roll them. They should be lightly browned around the edges

BROWNIE ROLL OUT COOKIES
3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup lightly salted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa
Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Whisk dry flour, salt and baking powder in bowl and set aside. Mix butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla and cocoa in mixer. Gradually add flour mixture, and mix until smooth. Wrap in plastic and chill for at least one hour.
Roll out cookie dough on floured counter. Cut into desired shapes, brushing extra deposits of flour off the top. (It does disappear once baked, though, so dont overly fret if they go into the oven looking white.) Bake on a parchment-lined baking sheet for 8 to 11 minutes (the former for 1/8-inch thick cookies, the latter for 1/4-inch cookies) until the edges are firm and the centers are slightly soft and puffed.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool.

Peanut Butter Cut-Outs
Yield: 36 Servings
4 c flour
1/4 ts salt
1 TBS. baking powder
1 c creamy peanut butter
1 c butter; softened
1 c dark brown sugar
2 eggs
2/3 c corn syrup
Preheat oven to 325øF.
Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together. Set aside. In another
bowl, beat peanut butter, brown sugar, eggs, and corn syrup until
smooth. Slowly add flour mixture, and blend to form a smooth dough. Wrap
and refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours.
Divide dough in half. Working with one half at a time, roll on lightly
floured surface to 1/8 inch thickness for thin cookies, 1/4 inch for
thicker, softer cookies. Cut with cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased
cookie sheets for 8-10 minutes. Decorate with piped chocolate, royal
icing, or powdered-sugar icing, or enjoy plain. Makes 3 dozen.

Gift ideas for boyfriends 21st birthday?
Q. My boyfriends turning 21 in october and i want to do something special for him. we're both in college so i don't want to spend a lot. i'm trying to keep it around $100 or less. I'm not 21 yet so i can't take him to a bar. We've been together almost 2 years so sex will definitly be part of his present. i'm looking for other unique ideas.

A. Plan a bbq with your closest friends at a park or lake. Or for a romantic touch, plan a picnic just for the two of you, without him finding out, pick a secluded spot in a nice park, make a nice lunch, get a small cake, get some birthday balloons and spend the whole day at the park. You can surprise him and keep it really nice and under a $100, you can even get him a nice gift like cologne or gift card to his fave store with a music CD, or even purchase matching claddagh rings to wear - they are inexpensive, I got mine from Amazon and both rings cost $36 and they are very pretty and don't look cheap at all!

What happens when you turn 20 years old?
Q. Ok my birthday isn't for a while but on the next, I'll be 20 y/o.

That seems like a lot. I will no longer be a teenager which is a cool thing I guess. Yet, I don't feel like I'm actually that old. I still feel like a kid. I don't really feel my age. Others my age seem so "adult".

I'm not sure...just yeah, 20 y/o.

A. Not much. I'm 36 and still tend to act like a teen at times. On a number of birthdays in the last few years, I've had to very firmly instruct my family and friends that there will be no birthday parties with canes, black balloons, bottles of geritol, prescriptions from my brother for viagra and a jar opener from my father.

At 20, we celebrated with a case of beer, my suitemate at school funded a bottle of Jack Daniels, (I had the fake ID,) and we used trays we'd stolen from the dining hall of the college to go tobaganning down the down the gras on the hill in front of the ruins of the Old Main building.

At 21, I burned my fake ID, the person I'd been dating took me to my favorite bar, suggesting that "Tonight would be the night," and I wound up passing out and waking up still in my clothes, in my own bed, alone.

At 25, my auto insurance rates dropped. I celebrated that with friends at Sharky's Bar and I learned something; some of my friends should not be allowed to play darts after we've gone through five pitchers of beer. Do you have any idea how much a dart in your butt cheek when you go to get your darts hurts?

At 33, I wound up at a shrimp boil in West Bank, drinking too much again, living in a travel trailer on a golf course, and eating Hooah! bars and drinking coffee as I drove back ito the 9th Ward to put another day's work into the cleanup of New Orleans.

At 34, I was on the lake, in mid November, freezing and wakeboarding with friends, eating well, if not healthily, and having a ball.

35 and 36 both sort of passed quietly. I got some gifts but pretty much just took myself to a movie with a flask of bourbon and wondered if I could get away with strangling the noisy kids in the next row of seats.

The only thing worth really noting is that as I get older, I sound more and more like my father at times. I realized this a month or so ago when I barked at some kids in the neighborhood for walking down the center of the street at midnight. No sooner had I said "Are you unclear on the concept of a sidewalk?" than I realized that I was sounding just like my father.

In advance, Happy20th! You're only as old as you feel, birthdays are just mile markers on the highway of life, and enjoying life is what matters most.

To qualify that last statement, I watched my father take up skiing at 56. And 14 or so years later, I had to pick him up at the airport after he'd been distracted by a pretty girl on the slopes and somehow failed to notice he was heading for a tree. He hit with sufficient force to break a calavicle and dislocate his shoulder.

The next season, when he bough his helmet for skiing with, I had but one comment. "Good idea, you ain't gettin' any younger, and the trees ain't gettin' any softer." He hit me with the helmet,

Live, love, enjoy!

i need christmas gift ideas and i only have a little bit of money! help?

Q. i have about 80 bucks and i want to buy a little something for my mom, dad, 22 year old sis, 17 year old bro, 13 year old sis, 12 year old sis, 10 year old sis and my boyfriend!! what can i do??

A. I would say for your mom or oldest sister, if they like to decorate their homes, get them an air plant terrarium. Air plants (also called tillandsias) are very easy to care for and don't require soil so they can be displayed in really unique ways. If your sister has an apartment or dorm they are great for that, but I got one of the hanging terrariums for my mother in law and she LOVES it and always gets compliments. I got it from Air Plant Design Studio, most of the kits are under $20 and many even under $10...but they look like they cost a lot more ;) They even have this cute sea urchin shell/air plant combo for like $9.

For the younger teen girls, how about a cool nail polish? Also check stores like Marshalls or TJ Max especially the clearance section as they often have fun designer cosmetics or little accessories for $5 or so.

For your boyfriend, how about a "gift certificate" to do something he would like to do with you. It could be a date to go somewhere fun and cheap, a dinner you cook for him with his favorite foods, etc...that way it's cheap, meaningful, and you get to spend time together!

For your dad, you could maybe give him a "gift certificate" to wash his car or help clean the garage -- something you don't normally do but you know he would appreciate.

Gifts for relatives?
Q. We have no idea what to buy our fathers as gifts. We bought both of our mothers jewelry already. Our budget is 1800 per father.

They both have several nice watches already, and for our budget even from tiffany's we would end up getting like three pairs of cufflinks, which neither of them wear anyway.

Also my grandmother who we have a budget of 1500. She doesn't really need anymore jewelry she has way way too much, like 2 standing jewelry cases. What else is good for an 80 year old woman?
No but we saved much more then we needed for our wedding about 115,000 we ended with a 75,000 wedding 20,000 honeymoon.

So we figured that this would be nice a nice opportunity to buy our family nice gifts and not go out of our yearly budget for gifts. We are a very exact type of couple. We have budgets for everything so they aren't getting things like this again haha.
Jessica C -
I am sorry if you think I am boasting I don't mean to, rather I am trying to get help with a problem I am having. I was thinking that's what this board is for.

Or is this only for people in a certain tax bracket??

But as long as we are swinging insults I donate about 15% of my yearly earnings to charity how about you?

I simply gave my situation and asked for some answers, and I sincerely thank everyone for their answers.

A. I kind of agree with the scrapbook idea-- I've always found that the perfect gift for someone who has everything is sentimental. But since you have a pretty big budget for spending, how about adding a few extra albums onto your wedding photography package? Or sending pictures to someone and having them make a professional scrapbook?? That way, it will look VERY nice, and you won't have to worry about duplicating a piece of jewelry, or finding something your 80-year-old grandma will enjoy.

What to get Mom for mothers day?
Q. Im 14 years old and all the past mother days have sucked. It would be like candles and a bunch of useless crap. And the reason for that is because she takes us to the Dollar General to find her a present. And this year I want to go to somewhere like Walmart or Target to find a present. Im not getting no necklace, flowers, none of that stuff. She has a B*T*C*HY husband who everyone hates and he does absolutely nothing for no one. Hes practicalluy a guest in the house. I want to get her a new phone, but then that requires me driving to the store with her husband who I HATE SO MUCH.

Any really good ideas? I guess I could possibly consider jewelery, but I dont want to go over like 80$

She usually gives us 25 dollars each, (me and my sister) but we always spend it sepratley. I have 15 dollars so that brings me at 35, but I plan on withdrawing 20$ from my account so I'll have 55 to spend on her. Shes a really deserving mother. And her life is hard (bc of her basta**rd of a husband) and I want to get her a really nice gift. Ideas??!!?!?!

A. I agree that candles, necklaces, and flowers are pretty typical gifts. Typical enough that they've become pretty undesirable to almost any mom, in my opinion.

About the phone... you could order one from online. For example, if you have AT&T, you could look around eBay or amazon.com for new phones that you don't need to buy a plan for. With Verizon, you'd have to look at their online store (since they don't have SIM cards), but request that the phone have your mother's number on it. (Make sure it won't be activated until she gets it for Mother's Day! Otherwise she may figure out what you got for her.)

You could also customize a pair of shoes on Zazzle.com, if she likes shoes. They have a ton of other things to customize too, like shirts, bags, necklaces, keychains, mugs, aprons, and more. Out of what I listed, the shoes would be the most expensive, but it should stay at your budget.

If you can't shop online, you could create something. Get a plush basket and add a few spa-type items, like bubble bath beads, scented lotions, you know, the works. Something like that.

And one more thing: you'll actually have $60 to spend on her. ;)

A. Buy some art supplies and make her a very personal card (from scratch) with pictures and stuff you've done together, to show your appreciation of her and how strong she is and has been as a mother, and how she motivates you to be a great person and that you wouldn't be where you are today without her strength. I think that would be more meaningful and more precious than any precious metals or gems.

OR you could give her a personally made coupon from you to do the dishes for a month or something like that, and pocket the cash (thats a joke because its not meaningful at all compared to the other idea)

What are some good ideas for low cost Christmas presents?

Q. I think crafts, maybe? For 3 yearold boy, 22 year old girl, 13 year old boy, 25 year old male, and two adult females.

Toys, fruit snacks, etc. for the 3 year old; toiletries, candles, ornaments, etc. for the females; and toiletries, socks, etc. for the male. Or you can make a snack, candy, baked goods basket for the adults.

What are some great birthday ideas for your boyfriend in the Philadelphia area?

Q. Every year I screw up my boyfriends birthday and this year I'd like to change that. Are there any good ideas for his birthday in the Philadelphia area that are moderately priced?

A. Giving an experience as a gift is always a great ideas for couples, because you get to share a cool new experience together. Here's a ton to choose from in the Philadelphia area.

My Wife's boyfriend's birthday is Saturday. What is a good gift idea for a really good guy?
Q. Last year for my 35th birthday, he got me tickets to the Chicago Cubs game against the Philadelphia Phillies. It was a really fun experience! Go Cubs. :)

As a gesture of goodwill, I'd like to get him something he might enjoy as well, since he's practically family.

My wife isn't much help in giving me ideas. I guess they don't actually spend that much time talking.

What are some ideas to give a guy for a gift to let him know you appreciate his friendship?

A. I got my husband's boyfriend a new Samsung 58-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV, and he's really enjoyed it. So, maybe electronics are the way to go? That way you'll both be able to enjoy the game together in hi-def when getting tickets isn't feasible.

Whatever you decide, I'm sure he'll appreciate you thoughtful gesture of friendship.

How would i go about having a picture framed?
Q. I'm in Philadelphia, and would love a picture to be framed as a gift to a friend. I'm wondering where to go and how much it will cost. Anyone with ideas please let me know!

Thanks

A. I can assure you that Philadelphia is not going to be cheaper than Maryland... that's about the going price for a standard size... $50 is reasonable to expect.

There are a number of framing shops throughout the Philadelphia area.

The problem with your question is that you do not give any information about the size of the image or even if it's been matted or not.

Assuming that it is just an 8x10 that you want framed, I would recommend Michaels or one of the other Arts and Crafts places. They would most likely be less expensive than a framing shop.

What should I buy my teacher who is leaving to Taiwan?
Q. So, I recently found out that a great teacher of mine is leaving to Taiwan. She is an amazing history teacher who has truly influenced my life and led me to make some great decisions. I am a very shallow person and I am not usually appreciative but I do feel as though she deserves something great. Any ideas for gifts that I could buy her? Btw. She moved to Philadelphia from Michigan maybe anything from Michigan she might appreciate?

A. Something with the saying "World's Greatest Teacher" on it would work,
such as a desk nameplate, a T-shirt, a little statue, etc.
With her having been a history teacher in Philly, maybe a miniature "Liberty Bell" would be nice.

PS: My HS history teacher still stands as a role model for me, too! :^D

ideas for 9 yr old boys army party indoors?
Q. Need great ideas for 9 yr old army party?
my son had a really hard year and has been really strong now it is his birthday and i want to throw him an awesome birthday party he loves army and has since he was 2
need food ideas, decoration ideas, games, gift bag ideas
also there is about 6 inches of snow here and he has health concerns and cant be outside much in the cold

A. My grandson has Army parties every year:) In fact, all he'll wear is camoflauge:) ..... If you have room, set up some tents. They might be happy just watching some movies on tv (Stripes; Private Benjamin - other comedies involving the military). You could serve Pigs in a Blanket in mess kits; with veggies & Ranch dip and chips - or pizza. Luckily, my grandson lives in California, and my daughter has his Nov. parties outside, with a firepit for them to sit around; and they spend the night in the yard in tents (my son-in-law sleeps out there too, and he just retired as a Staff Sgt). If you have a fireplace; and the tents; they could lay there and watch the movies; and just "be boys".....

Ideas for birthday gift for a bright 4 yr old girl. Would like suggestions for specific toys/games.?
Q. I'm her grandma. I give her lots of books. We have loved collecting Little People but I think she may be outgrowing them. I'm looking for something she might want to spend some time with and probably play with alone.
All your answers are SO great! Thanks so much! She has MegaBlocks which are like big legos. Of course, she has a Cabbage Patch doll and a Cabbage Patch newborn. I've gotten several sets of Fisher Price "Little People." (I love them too.) She does still play with them a lot. She has a great imagination. I'll give her mom a call to help me pick. Your ideas should help me with her birthday and Christmas. Thanks.

A. one of my favorite gifts to give to both boys and girls of ages from 3-8 or 9 is an art pack.

I begin with a fishing tackle type box and in the sections of the top I put in things like small rulers, stickers, roll of tape, colored pencils, pens/pencils, scissors, paper clips, and other assorted supplies. In the bottom or larger section I place things like various sizes of markers, crayons, notepads, other drawing tools like stencils . And then I decorate the outside with the childs name, and stickers.

then in another bag or briefcase(even the paper or cloth ones work well--and the child feels like a grownup when they use it. Inside I place things like assorted types of paper, colored(get good quality) drawing paper (get a few different types some for markers, some just for pencils, and some for painting) and maybe add an idea book or two (but no coloring books)

All of these ideas should also be based on the age of the child. and should be used with adult supervision until you are sure the child will use them correctly and safely.

I have been told fequently that these are sometimes the favorite gift that a child has recieved at a bithday party...it allows them to explore different types of art mediums and gives them good self esteem about their work and encourages them to take care of their things.

My own children also recieved similar gifts from me and always bring them up when they talk about gifts they have enjoyed the most....my youngest hated having to give up her "box" when she went to college--it had been with her since she was about 8 and she kept all of her "special" art supplies in it and hid her favorite pens and pencils in it to keep them from her sister.

When should I buy chocolate candies as gift for Christmas?

Q. I'm done with my Christmas shopping and this week I'm shipping all of the presents to my family in California.

Do you think it's a good idea to buy candies online (Godiva and see's candies) or buy candies at the store and have it ship along with the presents?

Beside that, I want to add candies to my nephew's stockings but I don't know when should I buy them. Can I buy them now? Would they melt before Christmas?

I have my heater on, since it's really cold and snowy outside.

Thanks people.

A. I LOVE SEES. LOVE IT TO DEATH! I've been eating Sees Candies since the 50's so that's been a long time. I just spent $170 (not even including shipping priority) at the Sees Store 2 weeks ago and I sent boxes to my loved ones in Boston. They do not have Sees there, only at the airport.

I do not buy pre-packaged Sees. I pick my own. I bring a list (by looking at the online selections) and I choose my own selection. They always love what I choose. I choose truffles, nuts, caramels, soft centers, so take your time, best to go when they first open so you're the first customer and there's not a long line behind you. That's the trick. The Sees store here at the mall always has tons of people. DON'T FORGET TO GET THE CRANBERRY ORANGE truffle. It's only around for Christmas and oh-so-delicious.

Sees will not go bad for weeks, and THEY ARE FREEZABLE, just tell the people you are giving them to that they can freeze if not eaten right away. I wish someone would send me some Sees. I'm already broke. :)

Bring a lot of $$$ because Sees is now $16.50/pound (?) Spendy but worth it. I used to live 30 miles from the factory when I lived in CA. It's truly the freshest candy and truly the best on the planet.

Have no fear getting it early. Better early and beat the crowds. Like I said, come when they very first open in the morning.

Good luck.

Where to host an event for 100 in Boston?
Q. I'm looking for a venue to host a workshop in Boston. The speaker dislikes hotels so I'm looking for something a bit more unusual. He's held seminars in garages and the like. Any suggestions? Thanks!

A. WOW, he hates hotels. That makes it very hardto put on an event! But you can use this to your advantage. If you show him creativity or that you are paying attention to something that is important to him, he will be impressed. Read his bio and do a little more in depth research on him. If he is willing to do it in a garage, it is good because he does not have the "big speaker" ego problem. He cares more about getting the message out, than he cares about ego. But you're never gonna fit a hundred people into a garage. You can fit alot in rented warehouse space, but you're also gonna have to pay for chairs and make sure you have bathrooms and temperature.

If the event is coming up when it is warmer, why not in tents outdoors at a park or at a area of cultutal or historic importance. Since you are in Boston there should be tons of these. How about a tent or even just a cordoned off area along the "freedom trail". This can be very inexpensive, tent rental is cheap, but remember "bathroom" facilities they are expensive. How about a scenic site near the water, how about the public gardens, the esplanade or quincy market?

I have held several events at our local science museum and art museum. I remember you guys have a big aquarium. This gives are real "classy" experience because you're tied in to the "big" charities in the area. The guests also find it fun and usually tour the museum before and after. I set up a docent (guided free tour) for the guests before and after. Museums give your guests admission with the cost of the event. You have several VERY classy and prestigious museums in Boston. The cost at the museum is only slightly higher than a hotel would have been, but if it is a subject that they care about, you could ask them to cosponsor. Your real issue is that if you have it at a museum, the guests are going to expect "gift bags". While you can usually get those free from local businesses, it takes ALOT of time and effort.

I've done several events at churches. They have all the amenities like break out rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, air conditioning and heating. Also it helps open "diaglog" to have it at a church. I coordinated a countywide workshop on addressing homelessness, several teaching events, several leadership events at churches. In some cases I have made donations to offset their costs, in some cases I have actually had them compete with each other to give me the "best" location free and all the amenities.

If you're on a budget, most local libraries can seat a hundred easily and this will be very cheap. But you should try to "dress up" the room. I invite a high quality local artists to do a showing on the same day I did an event at the "best" library in my area. Again libraries have all the amenities, bathrooms, AC or heating, and even small kitchens.

I''ve done events at city hall, but only before 9/11. I wouldn't even try now in a big city, but maybe in a suburb.

Don't forget to make sure your location has enough CLOSE parking. Don't forget to ge extra toilet paper, even in places you'd assume should have enough . I've seen seminars crash because of of this.

Good Luck! Post more details and we can probably come up with even more creative ideas.

How would one get in contact with the charity rep for the Boston Red Sox?
Q. I'm not sure how to go about finding valid contact information of a charity representative for the Boston Red Sox team.

I'm interested in contacting someone who may be able to have a baseball signed by the players upon my request for a friend as a gift.

If anyone has any information that might assist me with this, it will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance ~

A. I have no idea, sorry. Maybe ask on Boston Red Sox forum, there will be a lot more people that might know that then on here.

What kind of dog should I get my grandparents?
Q. My grandparents just lost their ranbunctious dog and want a small dog with a good personality. I've looked and researched but just didn't find what I was looking for. They recently had a border collie but she had to be put to sleep last summer. I have a boston terrier(7) and a crazy lab-irish setter mix who is about going to be 1 on August 31. Obviously my grandparents didn't like her as much. Please help.

A. Take them with you to a local shelter or rescue. It would not be a good idea to just bring one home to them. They need to pick out which one THEY fall in love with. Many dogs that are given as gifts end up in shelters.

Does anyone have any ideas for designing a card for a long-distance relationship?

Q. I am currently in a long distance relationship with a girl that I love very much. I'm planning on sending her a gift, which I already have, but I need a creative idea for a card that will show her I care. Any suggestions?

(So far I've been thinking of a "You are here, I am there" directory sort of thing; on the inside I was going to write "...but we'll soon be together.")

A. I'm also in a long distance relationship, and every now and then we send each other things in the post (as a surprise mostly). Myself, I study art/photography so sometimes I draw a picture of us both when we've been together, or sometimes just doodles lol. He's sent me long letters of how he feels and I've done the same. In one, I remember this being a favourite, he attached a piece of paper where he simply drew around his hand and said he wished he could hold mine, so I drew mine on top (I've got small hands, he's got big ;p ) and sent it back to him.

Do you have any private/inside jokes between the two of you? If so find some ideas which may incorperate those. Are there any things you could send within an envelope which she may like? Perhaps a small piece of jewellery even.

What else can I give my mom for her 50th birthday?

Q. Ok so I was thinking that i'll give my mom 50 things for her birthday. I'm going to start from something big and start going down to something small. Can somebody give me some other gift ideas that a mom will love? Please. Thanks.

A. Organise a spa day for her and a few of her close friends, then send them to a salon and get their hair and make up done and then send them out for dinner. This might be a bit expensive, so you could split it with brothers, sisters and your dad maybe?

Get her really nice things for her room, like candles, a bed spread, cushions, a rug, a plant etc.

Get her a photo album and print all her favourite photos that she hasn't got printed yet.

A surprise party with all of her friends and family, you can do this for fairly cheap if you organise it properly.

If she's got a band or artist that she loves, buy her tickets to see their concert.

If she reads, get her loads of books that you think she'd like.

If she's into fashion, you could hire a stylist and send her shopping with a personal stylist for a day
You could also send her on a shopping trip to New York, Paris, Milan or London, depending on where you live.

If she's into music, but her a giant iPod and spend time getting all the songs she'd love and organise playlists and stuff.

What to give a foreign exchange partner as a small gift?
Q. I am going to stay with a Russian family on a school exchange. My partner is 15 and said she would like something english. Anyone got any ideas. Not too expensive.
Thanks

A. You could bring a CD of a local band that has not yet made it internationally.
Maybe a book with a lot of photos and a little text, maybe about your home area, or a calendar.
England has many tea towels, nicely printed ones with funny texts or nice pictures.

Some sweets, not the packaged brands that are internationally known, but the old fashioned kind out of a small museum in your area.
If you can not find anything else, a brand kind of sweets or biscuits in a decorated tin with the name of the brand printed on the outside.

If you can find a bag, shopping bag, hand bag, make-up bag or even a pencil case, doesn't matter, with a map of England or something typically English like a double decker bus or the map or the London underground that would be a nice item.
Even if it is a cheap paper bag that people use to pack things in souvenir shops, or like the shops of National trust, the tourist information office or Past Times, use it to wrap whatever you buy as an extra present.

And you are right, not too expensive, you do not want to show how rich you are but just that you like to stay with them. Just one of the items above alone will do to show that.

Gift ideas for my childhood friend and her parents?
Q. I am looking for Christmas gift ideas for my best friend of 12 years. She is 21, in the army, has a two year old son, is very tom-boyish, and I have no idea what to get her for Christmas. I am just stumped. I am also looking for ideas for her parents, who have been like parents to me. I am really bad at choosing gifts so I am turning to you, Yahoo Answers, for some much needed assistance.

A. How about a Posh Mommy necklace? If she is tom-boyish, go for the mini dog tag. Have her son's name engraved on it. http://stores.jewelryninja.com/-strse-Collections-cln-Posh-Mommy/searchpath/79517759/start/13/total/43/Categories.bok I don't know about her parents... that one seems a little tougher.

What was the most thoughtful gift someone got you when you were pregnant?

Q. My sister just announced that she is expecting. I would like to get her a present, not something for the baby, but something just for her. She is still very early on in the pregnancy, but she already has a ton of books, so those are out.

A. The most thoughtful gift I have recieved this pregnancy is a gift certificate for a pregnancy spa treatment and massage. There are many local spas out there that do it and it can be relatively inexpensive. It is especially relaxing when your muscles ache or back aches from the stress of carrying a baby.

Another great idea that I did for a friend of mine was we went at night (around close time where they wouldn't be busy or have any fumes) and we got pedicures and a manicure. It was simple but she got her feet massaged and legs and was nice cause she was far along that she couldn't reach her toes! Then we went and got smoothies (ice cream will do the trick too) and rented some movies for some down time :)

What is a good Christmas gift for a pregnant woman?
Q. My sister-in-law is pregnant with TWINS and I don't have any idea what to get for her for Christmas without seeming like a Baby shower gift. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!
She's only 4months and doesn't know what she is having yet.

A. Get her a really pretty locket with room for two pictures inside. She will cherish it forever.

Best baby shower gift ideas and baby shower games?
Q. Hello. We are planning a baby shower for my sister. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanks!

A. I hope this will help you, and good luck with the shower!

GAMES

Few of our favorite picks:

Dirty Diaper Game - Have mom-to-be change baby doll diaper. Use chocolate topping and tea to make the game more realistic. If it's her first diaper change, it may be a lot of fun :) /You will need diaper, chocolate topping, tea and baby wipes/

Blindfold Diaper Change Game - Sometimes very tired new mom needs to change diaper in the middle of the night with her "eyes wide shut". This fun game may be a time saver in the near future :) Watch mom-to-be or other guests make it right. /You will need a diaper and a doll./

Match The Socks Game - Put several unpaired pairs of different colors socks in a bag. Mix them well and give each player minute or two to pair them. Winner is a guest who at the end of the time paired the most socks. /You will need several, possibly 10 or more pairs of socks and some container to mix all of them/

Baby Food Game - Have each guest try baby food from unmarked container to guess what is it. Sounds pretty easy, right? Think twice... you will be surprised how many people will guess it wrong! /You will need unmarked containers. Put jars in warm water for 10-15 minutes to dissolve glue from the label. It will be easier to take it off . You may also use nontransparent paper and piece of tape to cover the label/

Baby Charades Game - is a word guessing game. It is an acting game in which one player acts out a baby word or phrase. /You need to produce list with as many as you want "secret" words or phrases. The guests attempt to guess the word or phrase based on the "actor's" performance. They can ask questions, to which the "actor" may give non-verbal responses, such as nodding in affirmation.

Name As Many Baby Items You Can Game - Have each guest write down as many baby products as they can name within few minutes. Sounds easy at the beginning, but it will start racking their brains for more closer to the end of the game. Give a prize to the guest who gets the most baby products named. /You will need pan and piece of paper for each guest/

Guess Mom's Tummy Size Game - Have each woman pull the yarn to the size they believe would fit perfectly around the Mother-To-Be's center of her pregnant tummy. After everyone cuts their yarn , compare the results to the Mommy-To-Be's actual tummy. Give a prize to the lady who is the closest! This is a long time baby shower favorite. /You will need few feet of yarn for each player/

How Well Do You Know Mommy-to-be Game - ( It's a great time for mommy-to-be to take a brake and refresh herself since she needs to stay out of the sight for this game ) Have each guest write down facial features of future mom ( for example: hair length and color, eye color or even what is she wearing right now ) /You will need pen and piece of paper with already written questions/

Drinking Game - Milk of course :) or any other favorite soft drink or juice - Have each participating guest drink it from baby bottle with nipple. First to finish provided amount is winning the game /You will need few baby bottles of the same size /

Baby Trivia Game - Make a list of questions about babies or parenting and make 3 different answers for each of the questions, where only one is true. For example: How much parents spend in the first year on diapers or how many of them will be used in the first year. Questions and answers can be found in many publications, including internet. Google is a good start :)

What Is It? Game - mom-to-be is blindfolded and needs to tell their guests what she has in her hands. It's even more fun if mom-to-be is told that these are items from around the house... /You will need some toys or baby items, blanket or bag to cover/hide the items/

Word Scrambler Game - One of the favorite baby shower games. You will need to scramble some baby words. For example: bottle = letobt , diaper = repaid or pacifier = ficipare /You will need pen and piece of paper for each guest. It's easier and faster if you have the scrambled words printed and each participant have to write the unscrambled word next to it/

What is the ettiquette for a baby shower for a second child?
Q. I'm pregnant with my second child and just found out it's a boy (my first is a girl). Do people have baby showers for children other than their first?
We don't need anything (or want to ask anyone for anything) and can afford to get what we need. I just know all my family and friends will get us something anyway so I thought it might be nice to get together and give them treats and whatnot. What do you think?

A. As I understand it, it is acceptable (according to "etiquette") for you to have a shower for your son since your first baby was a little girl :)

I have two boys and I wanted to celebrate the arrival of my second son as well...but seeing as I already had everything I needed for his arrival (and "etiquette" says no shower for same-gender baby number two) My sister hosted a "casserole" shower for me instead! It was a lot of fun and in the invitations she printed up a cute saying asking the guests to bring a freezable casserole instead of a gift :) It was a great idea!!

"What about showers for a second baby?

It is perfectly acceptable to host a shower for a second baby. After all, the parents will need a few new items. However, proper etiquette states that only family members and very close friends should be invited to the shower of a second child, although you can invite people who did not attend showers for the first child."

What are some good gift ideas to get your mother?

Q. Okay I need some good gift ideas to get for xmas for my mom.

A. It really depends, I mean she is your mom so you should know better then anyone. My mom loves the New York Yankees so she is pretty easy to buy for, she also loves disney. Does your mom have any favorites or hobbies? If not sentimental things are always good. You could get a nice piece of jewlery. Maybe a locket with a picture of you when you were younger and now when you are older..

What is a good gift for a son to get a Mother?
Q. I am in the military and won't be home for Christmas what do you think are some good gift ideas for a mom?

A. You should buy something local. Not only does it help the place you are currently resting your head and bring goodwill, it will be something no other moms will get.

Take a picture of you buying it from a local merchant and include a note. It won't get there in time, but you will get the picture of you buying it there in time for sure.

Moms with sons in danger are extremely sentimental.

Merry Christmas!

What is the Super Fitness enrollment fee for Toledo OH?
Q. I want my grandmother to buy me a gym membership for my 18th birthday. I need to know how much the enrollment fee is at Super Fitness and other places around Toledo. I can't seem to find any of that information on their website.

A. You'll likely have to contact them. It will be a 1 minute phone call. "I'd like to sign up, but I don't know your enrollment fee." is basically all you have to say. But keep in mind most gyms require the participant be present when they get the membership for legal purposes you need to sign affidavits and give them your credit card information so they can take payments monthly. You might have to go with your grandmother, but it's a cool gift idea!

(I'd guess $75 - $150 enrollment / contract fee).

What are the main attractions at disney world?
Q. I am going this week for four days and I also so want to know what should I pack and the must see attractions! :D Its also my first time going there and I'm spending my birthday there. I was also wondering what things do you get if its your birthday?

A. On your birthday, you get free admission into the park. If it's already paid for, you get a gift card worth one days admission (so $75).

To pack - It will be hot. I am currently in Orlando and it's been hot and humid everyday. Also, it rains every day. Do not plan your days around the rain - you really can't avoid it! Wear shoes that are comfortable, but are good in the rain - like Crocs. Also wear breathable clothing, like cotton... so no jean shorts and stuff like that. Wear light colors (although white isn't the best idea because it will go see-through). Also, wear sunscreen, especially on your face and shoulders (they burn the easiest in this heat for me)

Must see attractions :
Haunted Mansion - Magic Kingdom
It's A Small World - Magic Kingdom
Pirates of the Caribbean - Magic Kingdom
Dumbo - Magic Kingdom
Splash Mountain - Magic Kingdom
Big Thunder Mountain - Magic Kingdom
Expedition Everest - Animal Kingdom
Kilimanjaro Safari's - Animal Kingdom
Mission:Space - Epcot
Test Track - Epcot
Soarin' - Epcot
Rock n Roller Coaster - Hollywood Studio's
Tower of Terror - Hollywood Studio's
Toy Story Mania - Hollywood Studio's
+ If you do the water parks, Crush n' Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon and Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach!

Anyways I hope this helps

what are good ideas for Christmas gifts for my nephews and nieces ?
Q. they are 2 girls - ages 6 and 11, and 1 boy age 8.

I would like to keep the price for each gift low, like $10 or less for each gift.

thank you for your help

A. A book is always good. It is a gift that can keep on giving. The six yr old would probably like "Junie B" books, and the 11 yr. old would like any real chapter books -- try something by Meg Abbott. For the boy - any book that talks about farting, underwear, or other gross boy stuff is always fun.

Another great option - gift cards at their local fast food joint. I buy Burger King cards - then the kids can buy themselves a meal from ordering to paying. It makes them feel older.

Q. My daughter is doing gift exchange in 3rd grade but it has to be homemade.I need some crafty ideas that are some what simple as she is the one who has to create it.keeping in mind what the other girl will like.

A. Familyfun.com has tons of fun and easy ideas. I've subscribed to the magazine for years. They have lots of items you can make with things at home. She could string a bunch of pony beads onto a piece of yarn or cord. My son is in Jr. High and a lot of the girls have bracelets made just like that.

Whats a good Gift for a Blind 7 year old boy?
Q. The little boy I babysit will be 7 next week . Last year I got him a kid songs cd and a stuffed animal . the year before I got him storys on disk , im not sure what to do this year , I am running out of ideas . What is a good gift for a 7 year old little boy that is blind ? Thank you !

A. Many Blind people are uncannily good with music. How about a harmonica, or a small guitar. Maybe a keyboard. People who are talented with music dont need to see their instrument after they are familiar with it. I can play my guitar with my eyes closed, or a keyboard too. A start in music at a young age might make a lifelong companion, and creative outlet for him. A decent harmonica that might last him can be had for around 20.00 dollars or less sometimes, and can teach someone a lot about music.

What are some gift ideas to buy a 10 year old female for her Birthday and Christmas?

Q. Ok, here's the scoop: My 9 year old neice will turn 10 next month, and subsequently enter the "tween" stage. She is extremely intelligent with a whole range of interest that a typical little girl partake in. Nevertheless, she is not athletic. She's popular and fashionable and have lots of friends at her elementary school. As her aunt, I want to buy her something very nice and if its a frugal gift (that's fine as well). I am 24 year old graduate student so you can imagine that I cannot "outdo" my siblings in buying my niece anything expensive for her birthday and christmas. Please keep in mind my budget is $150 and less on each occassion. Thank you in advance. :)

A. I had this same predictament not 4 months ago. I too have a 10 yr old niece (and many of her friends) around alot. Paying attention, I found a big interest for all of them is "THE CHEETAH GIRLS".
If you find this is one of your neice's interest; I found a mini karaoke machine at Walmart for $45 and then bought a few of the girl pop bop karaoke cds from one of the 2nd hand video games, cd's and more kinda places. Had her covered for less than $70.
Because of just paying attention specifically to her likes, herself and her friends, think I'm "cool" Haha!

A. Go to www.gifts.com. When you get there, you can use the shop by personality option which lets you pick whether you are shopping for a man, woman, girl, or boy & then it will take you thru a series of questions to get an idea of what kind of person he/she is. When you get thru that a lot of gift ideas will pop up. Even if you don't find exactly what you are seeking, it'll help get your ideas flowing. Good luck~

What is the average penis size?
Q. I am not asking for stats from other websites. From personal experience, meaning yourselves, and/or partners, what do you find to be the average penis size?

A. dicks i have seem were like my father's and some back when i was like 11 years old.... when i had 11 yr old i had no idea how big they were so... now that i have seen my dad's which mine is like double in lenght and girth when soft , i havent see none erected lol so i am thinking he had like 2.5 inches soft .. i have about 5..
Researchers from the University of California at San Francisco determined that the average erect size of the penis was 5.1" long and 4.9" in girth. A Brazilian study found the average length to be 5.7" and 4.7" in girth.

This is in my own writing, it wasn't copy and pasted, enjoy it, it took me a while to write it and hope is beneficial to everyone. Thanks.

Since I have answer to many of these question regarding penis sizes, i recollected most of my answers, read it and you make be satisfy with a correct answer.
The reported statistics vary, but some of the more credible measurements taken from a sample of college men in a large university town revealed that the average erect penis is between 5-6 inches when measured from the base of the penis to the tip along the top side. The vast majority of erect penises (>85% of men) fell between 5-7 inches. The erection of course was the great equalizer since the measurements of flaccid penis lengths varied considerably.

less than 4 inches is way below ! >4.5-5.0 moderate > 5.0- 6.3 (average 65% of any male u encounter are around this size!) > 6.7 (10-20% of popul) more than average > 7.2-9 less than 10% (gifted) > 9+ thats a big ******* story! ahhaah 0.1% of the male population *(Different web site and researches show these stat as the average penis 5.1, 5.7, 5.9, 5.877 from these numbers you can conclude whats average, since all those are say to be average, I guess they are diff because are taken in different regions, let say if u take the same test in china you would find out that 4.7 is average! and 6 is to big. well other internet survey say to be 6.2 so is funny because it does not match with true measurement, so self measurements adds more than 2 cm. Be proud of what you have, the average vagina is about 3-4 inches so there is no problem filling up that space! and if the woman loves you, there is no problem.. but everyone wants a bigger penis even I and i have 19.5 cm :) .... **** dont they say smaller pennis stand up longer? enjoy
you dont worry; I bet money that 80% + those that make fun of other with small organs have less than 6.6 inches! cuz only 10% of the population have over 7 inches!
do stretching it may give u a few cm
<proud!
will know ur final size when u reach 17... you will gain from .2-1.5 inches from that age up to 17!

BUT IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN KNOWING THE IDEAL AND DREAM SIZE, Here goes **

The ideal penis would be above average size (if you were given a woman what would you pick the same girl with smaller or bigger breast? yes is possible you pick above average and not to big either, is the same thing for penis..) what would that size be? hmm I would definitely say 7-8 inches x 6 inches of circumference..thats a bit bigger than porn actor though, most porn actors have between 6-7 inches but since their are bellow 6 feet their penis look bigger on them... and so there are porn actor with more than 8 inches...(note that those male actors on the internet with mega penis are mostly the same people...there arent many with over 10 inches...) like I said is preference some woman may prefer something smaller then 5 inches... or something bigger than 7 ... but at the end you will love a woman with small tities you usually never dump her for that.... it happens to be the same with women and our penis... Hope this helps..

forget the motion of the ocean.... sorry girls but a 4 inch guy can do what a 7 inch penis do ( if they know what they are doing of course)vaginas are 2-2.5 inches wide therefore a penis with girth of 6 inches will reach and stretch you so all ur nerves are receiving pressure, so is ur G spot everything is done by PRESSURE, NOT THE MOTION OF THE OCEAN learn that....a 5 inch penis can almost do the same thing but give the same person different sizes and u will see the different of course anything over 9 inches can hurt and less pleasure but anything from 7-8.5 inches is the BEST of sizes of course if it has 6-6.5 inches of girth

I had like 6.5 when I was 16 and now I am 19 it is 19.5 cm,.. Dont feel bad, try doing exercises like stretching! maybe u gain something in 1 month! keep going if u see any gain maybe instead of gaining 1 inch.. u gain 2-3!
penis sizes!
less than 4 inches is way below ! >5.2 moderate > 5.5- 6.3 (average 60 % of any male u encounter are around this size!) > 6.7 (10-20% of population) more than average > 7.2-9 less than 5% (gifted) > 9+ thats a big ******* story! ahhaah 0.1% of the male population

yo, u have 4 in so what? u can satisfy any woman, plus u are oriental so u may be with Orientals so u are in the normal size for Orientals.. even a person with 3.5 in penis could satisfy an oriental woman! try doing penis massages, i dont know if they work. I do them sometimes but have seen no gains but after all i dont need it, i am like 7.6 inches. :) ur orientals women have seen shorter penis than that i bet!

first measurement is soft(unerect, second is erect penis size in inches. Hope it gives you an idea.

My words are truly and not made to hurt anyone's feelings, I am just answering, I don't know you and probably don't know me either, so I don't win anything from lying.
:)

let the truth be told.

I found this site.... pretty good put ur size where it says ([pick your erection length) hehe see where you stand..
http://www.afraidtoask.com/members/mgeni... (the graph shown tell us an average of about 6 inches which isnt true, if u read what I wrote above averages range from 5.0-5.7 so, let say if u happen to have 5.25 inches and the graph gives u are bigger than only 10% isnt quiet true, you can be bigger than 20-30% and like if u have 6 inches u may be in the 60 -70% not in the 50% where the graph says. I just add this graph because I found it cool.)
