Q. Most sororities are having to change their reveal, because of a strict "no hazing" policy that is being adopted. We usually do the string idea, but we're looking for new ways so that the littles have NO CLUE who their big is!! Thanks!
A. The "string thing" is hazing? Is that the one where you trail yarn all over the house and the have to follow the string trail to their big? If not you could consider doing what I described. Use different color yarn and tie a few knots to delay the reveal a little.
Here is another idea we did in high school for homecoming queen reveal. Get four or five nice gift wrapped boxes all the same size (doesn't have to be the same color or anything). Mark one box on the lid so you know it is "the one" Put a helium filled balloon in that box and leave the rest empty. Then line up the potential bigs in a line and let the little guess. Ask each big is called she opens her box, when the little guesses the right big a balloon flies out. Yay, hugs and smiles. Then put the balloon back shuffle the boxes and do it again making sure the right big get the special box

The Big Sis' give their little the final gift on activation night. I thought I would give mine a sorority survival kit. What should I put in it? I have already thought of some cute things like scissors (to cut out the drama) and magnets (because sisters stick together), but I was also thinking of more practical things, too. Any ideas would be great.

A. In my house we did a similar thing for our "daughters." I made a tie blanket with the sorority engraved on it, put in some dollar movies from Wal-Mart, popcorn, soda, hand me downs and personal made shirts/other clothes with the sorority letters on it, picture frames, and paddles. That is the kind of stuff we put all in a bin. It was expensive, but they loved it.

A. when I don't want to spend a lot of money for a close friend, I get them a gift bag of a few smaller items rather than one big one. This way, I've put effort and thought into the gift, but it doesn't drain my wallet. some ideas of stuff to include:
- DVDs (Gossip Girl Season 1, Mama Mia, The Dark Knight, Lost Season 4... all released semi-recently, depends on what she likes. going with a show is good because it's great for a rainy day or a sick day)
- gift certificate for a manicure or pedicure
- a nice journal (even something as plain as a Moleskin or something more ornate) or an organizer if she keeps busy
- digital picture frame
- slippers or robe
- some Starbucks coffee or a Starbucks gift card
- a fake Pashmina. the real ones are expensive but these are great! just get her favorite color or something neutral. they go with everything and are very now. (http://www.acomuenchen.de/Lager_Fake_Pashmina.gif)
- sweets - Milano cookies, chocolate oranges... again, whatever kind of stuff she likes, but try to go for something a bit nicer than a Kit-Kat. Choxie from Target isn't too expensive but looks and tastes great.

Any creative/unique Big sister (sorority) gift ideas?
Q. I need a gift for my big for initiation but i don't know that much about her. I know she likes crossword puzzles and I know I want to give her something nice that she'll really appreciate!
A. get pics of you and your big, picnik them, and make some sort of scrapbook page out of it, then frame it. its super cute i did this for my littles and my big for xmas presents this year! ( its also kind of cheap)
but if you still dont have any idea, ask your twin ( if you have one) or your gbig or anybody in your family for ideas, even if youre not that close to them, im sure theyd love to help you! thats what sisters are for <3
