How does one give an inappropriately generous gift to a subordinate without sending the wrong message?

Q. I worked my secretary to the brink of hospitalization this year, so I feel she deserves to receive an exceptionally charitable Xmas bonus. In addition to a vintage fruitcake, I've also decided to throw in several Taco Bell coupons, good for one free Chalupa with the purchase of 10 Taco Supremes and a large soda.

I know, I know...it's a lot - which leaves me fearing that she may read too much into this obscene display of prodigality and misconstrue this as an act of affection. If that happens, I'll be left with no choice but to terminate her right before the holidays....and I *really* don't feel like breaking in a new lackey...I mean, "assistant" this 2013. Help!
@GreatGoogly: OK, so maybe she's not the most attractive beast at the petting zoo, but calling her a "troll" is a bit harsh.

A. You're in a tight spot. She may even slack off thinking you'll both share that Taco Supreme in front of a purple orange sunset. Disgusting, can't risk it. Hell, give her nothing and make her work Christmas Eve until 10pm, just so she doesn't get any ideas.

Does a bridal showers theme NEED to correspond with the theme of the wedding?
Q. This will be my very first time planning a bridal shower. It actually isn't till next may 2013, but when the bride told me that she wanted the wedding theme to be a barn wedding with sunflowers...usually I have ideas about stuff like this but sunflowers? They are beautiful flowers but to me, but can over power other flowers and don't go very well with other colors besides reds, oranges, blues, and purples. Which by the way are all colors the bride hates. I'm wondering if the theme of the wedding should be the theme of the bridal shower? Thank you!

A. The theme of a bridal shower actually has nothing to do with the decor. The theme suggests the type of gift the guests bring to the shower. Themes for bridal showers are kitchen shower, bath/spa shower, recipe shower, lingerie shower, etc. The hostess would ask the bride is there are particular things she needs and then a theme is chosen.

How do I open my christmas gift encased in steel?
Q. I need help!! My brother got 2 giant drill bits, about 5 inches in diameter, the commercial bits that are used for going thousands of feet in the ground. He inserted money on each end of each bit. He then brought it to a metal place who froze the bits, then pushed them together with a 100 ton press! Then when it warmed up the metal expanded and reinforced. When I try drilling with metal drill bits, they snap. I can't heat it because the money will burn. Any ideas how I get in this impossible metal gift?

A. Heat the drill bit one end (not burning hot, just enough to make it expand) and chill the other end. One will expand, one will contract, and you should then be able to pull them apart with enough leverage.

10 % fee, please!

Would I have to pay quarterly taxes if I had my own online business?
Q. I'm thinking about starting my own online business, of which I will be the sole owner operator. I estimate this business will never gross more than 36K per year. What classification would afford me the easiest way to pay taxes, both state and federal, keeping in mind I do not like the idea of paying quarterly estimated taxes (If at risk for penalty/fine, I would pay quarterly). By classification I mean 'LLC, Corporation, etc.".

I just want to keep in simple, legal, the less hassle the better.

A. And any taxes that you owe for the 2012 tax year are due to be paid quarterly during the year with the last payment voucher number 4 due by January 15 2013 for this purpose.
