I have zero interest in playing these games and would like to trade them for another game someone else is maybe not interested in that I would play. I did one of the objectives and it told me to look in my steam inbox. When i looked, it said 0 invites or gifts and a Portal 2 tab appeared( i don't have portal 2 ). After i checked my games and there was nothing new, just my old games( don't have a lot) so i'm confused.
How do you claim your gift? because every time i click on the gift pile thing it tells me i completed the same objective and i should look in my steam inbox for my gift, but everytime nothing is there....

I've been through so much in my life to be so young. Im a 23 year old woman and i just celebrated my two year anniversary of being a cancer survivor. I had Leukemia and one of the chemotherapy's i received was possibly able to make me infertile. I finished chemo June of 2010' Everything was fine. i began to move on with my life I met an amazing guy who knows my story and loves me through my flaws my life was coming back to normal again slowly but surely and I was still continuing to have my regular periods until one year later June 2011' they suddenly stop. I thought i was in the "safe zone", because the doctor said the younger you are the better chance you have at over coming the infertility issues of the chemo. At first i thought I pregnant but nope. I was just missing periods for months at a time. Me and my amazing husband got married and we both just thought it would come back because i've been off chemo for over a year. So we waited, and waited, and waited and it never returned. I was emotionally devastated i couldn't give my husband his first child can you imagine? i already had a daughter from a previous relationship (being hot at a young age paid off lol jk) I seen how everything happens for a reason God gave me a child earlier because little did I would soon be facing fertility issues. Although my husband was very supportive I know deep down he waited to have his own child. So christmas passed, we had a party drinks, friends, laughing gift giving, ahh just what I needed. I didn't know that i would be recieveing my my gift early the next moring. I went to the bathroom and I HAD MY PERIOD AGAIN!! after 6 long dredful months! i never thought i would see the day i was happy about blood down there lol. soo It's been over a week non stop bleeding... i think im about over the excitment now, as much as i prayed for this i got it i think im able to conceive... i think.. but my menstrual is going and going and going im a bloody mess literally. what to do? from the 26 til today help! lol im thankful and all but damn! Im ready for sex and horney as ever but my blood won't leave lol help me and give opinions please! Happy new years and God bless sorry about the length i just wanted yall to feel me! and my situation completely

Also, a seasonal scent of antibacterial hand cream from Bath and Body Works is nice- something you don't really buy yourself, but would love to receive- nice to keep in your purse. What I mean by what is an engagement party: I mean is it a party that you announce it for the first time OR that u have already announced and you are just celebrating it. Do u do invites? what can I do for mine?

An engagement party has a specific purpose and that is to formally announce the engagement of Mary Smith to John White. The party is usually hosted (planned, organized, and paid for) by the girl's parents. And if the girl's parents are unable to host the party then it can be hosted by the boy's parents or a close friend or relative. The party should take place within 4-6 weeks of the presentation of the engagement ring or proposal of marriage. The couple should NOT host their own engagement party unless there are no other alternatives.

The formality of the party can range from a three course dinner in the banquet room of a hotel to a backyard barbecue at someone's home. Printed invitations with a RSVP should be mailed out at least two weeks in advance of the party.

An engagement party is not a gift giving event so the couple should not be registered with any wedding or bridal registry until after the party has taken place.

It's fine to host your own engagement party, as long as you make it clear to anyone who asks that you do not want gifts. These aren't for gifts to begin with, even when a parent throws it. As to what to do, I've never been to an engagement party with games and music. That doesn't mean you can't do it, but you might have trouble getting ideas. Also, they are usually on a weekend night and very similar to a casual dinner party.

Also, just as an fyi since you say you're new to all this. You don't have to have one of these unless you want to. Most people don't do them, since the original reason for them was for the parents to meet and both sides get to know the wedding party. People are too separated today for this!

what about a family tree dvd. copy it and give each member a copy to add their own family to it. i got one of these from an uncle some years ago. he put it together using old photos. starting from my great grandparents up to my youngest cousin. now i have to add my family to my copy and pass it on when the time is right. cheap to do. just collect all the photos you can and tell people you will return them, but dont tell them what they are for. then surprise them when everyone is together at chrimbo. if you can, copy it for them, if not they will be delighted to wait till after xmas.

I don't know if this is in with young teens these days, but when I was around that age I know Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul was a really great book to read through tough times. It covers a lot of topics and issues that teenagers face including death and many other things. So even after coping with her loss she can reference back to the book to deal with things such as puberty, dating, peer pressure, stress of school, family, friends... I mean just lots of things you go through at that age. I strongly beleive that this book might help her. There are also more version of the book each starting with "chicken soup for the(insert specific topic here)" but I would say go with chicken soup for the teenage soul. It'll be perfect for her.

I went to Starbucks and got a lot of really cute things. I've seen a lot of really cute and inexpensive boxed jewelry at Fred Meyer stores. I bought my niece for her birthday at Trader Joes these French Truffles and her mom a cute little box of cookies from there and they loved them. Not sure where you are located but I love the store Ross and Kohls. They both have cute scarfs and beanie hats for super cheap you could pair up with some cookies or candy :)

My parent's have 8 children and I need a suggestion on how all of us can start saving for our parent's 50th wedding annversary party. They just celebrated their 45th anniversary, so we have 5 years to save. I want to set something up so everyone can contribute $10 or $20 a month, so it won't be a hardship and everyone can feel like they have contributed. If you multiply that times 8 children and 5 years, we should have a good chunk of money for the party. What's the best way to save and collect this money without calling everyone every month to ask for money?

Good idea to start planning now. Even $10 a month, times 8 kids, times 60 months in five years, would give you $4800 - you should be able to throw a very nice party, with probably quite a bit left over for a gift for them, on that.

How to do it depends on how reliable those 8 siblings are. Could you appoint one person, and have everyone send them $30 every quarter and stash it in a bank accout?

Find out where her favorite(s) clothing stores are (at 17, I was all about Forever 21, Gap and Aeropostale, for example) and get her something like a cool hat/gloves from there. I had a boyfriend at 17 who made us matching friendship bracelets for my birthday and said "lets try to be friends forever, even when this teenage love falls apart" (we weren't naive, we both knew teen love was not typically lasting. We're still good home-town buddies to this day, as are his wife and I) and I still have it, one of the most meaningful gifts I have ever received. That Christmas he gave me a silver necklace with my birthstone in it...NO idea what happened to that...

So, I suggest you make it from the heart, OR, if you guys arent that "deep", make it trendy and sweet.

Perfume is also a great idea...I let my husband pick out my perfume because he is the one who is going to be smelling me. :)

VIDEO GAMES
A lot of teenage guys love video games. The whole video game business has several gift options for you to choose from. You don't always have to buy a random video game. I don't know what you stance on gun toys is some parents are against them and that's fine with me. If are are okay with it, how about a laser tag set for the whole gang. It's a great way to have fun and stay in shape. You could play boys against girls, laser tag, ya missed me(last man standing) or any game you could make up. What should I do for my moms 41st birthday?

Q. I missed out on doing something special for her 40th birthday and again for Mothers day. I thought about getting up and making her breakfast that morning but I don't know if I can get up without waking her. She wakes up very easily.
Also, what should I get her for her birthday? I need some fresh ideas...cause I'm all out. I cant even remember what I got her for her 40th birthday.

For her birthday, maybe make a collage with photos of her and the family.
Flowers, favorite perfume, favorite restaurant, gift certificate to her favorite store or hairdresser, massage.
What kind of activities does she like doing?

one of my closest friend's sister (who i have known for over 10 years) is throwing a party for her soon to be 3 year old daughter. my mom babysits her every-day so she's very attached to not only my mom but me as well since she's always at home before i go to school and after i come from work. she pretty much has everything--toys, lots of them and alot of expensive clothes. her dad buys her everything so does her god-mother, her aunts (she has 4 just from my friend's side) and a lot more family from her fathers.

this makes it hard for her in the gift department. for christmas i got her a rain coat and a tiny tote bag for babies and i wanted to do toys for her b-day but she seriously has a lot and hardly even plays with them--she's very active and barely stays still to play. I was thinking this bathing suit i saw at the GAP website, an adorable two piece for toddlers but not sure if that's appropriate? my mom says thats the kind of gift a grandmother or mother would buy not friend. WDYT? Any ideas..
thank you Dianna. The bathing suit is actually the little tank ones, but I love your other suggestions. I know for a fact that she does not have a tent, so i loved that idea!! She would love it. And maybe like a kids flashlight because she loves flashlights.

I wouldnt buy a two peice swim suit for a toddler that you dont know if her mom would approve...i dont allow my toddler girls to wear bikini like suits just ones with the longer top or a one piece. A lot of little kids have tablet now a days..my 4 year old does..if your friends daughter has one...or your friend has one that she lets her daughter play on..you could give a gift card to buy her some apps (most of my 4 yrs olds educational ones cost money). if shes actice have you thought of outside toys? maybe a kite, or a basket full of things like..shovels, and buckets, and sand strainers..and stuff like that. does she have a tent at home? my girls love their little princess tent i have set up in a corner of their room. books and puzzles are something she may have a lot of but you can never have too many of!! i hate when my kids get toys with lots of pieces(the box will say 3 plus and all ill think is really?? more like 5 and up)..so id avoid anything like that.just a heads up if you decide to get a toy.

Homestead, Fl for Children?

I am thinking to move to Homestead since you get more for your money if you compare it to miami. We are moving from Puerto Rico and we have a 6 and 4 year old. Education is very important to us since both of our children are gifted and they are into chess, ballet, piano, girls scout and taekwondo. I am a clinical psychologist and basically I am looking for a very relax, tranquil, friendly, family oriented community with a good elementary school near. Any ideas? I would appreciate any feedback about Homestead. My husband will be working in Medley and I heard that traffic is so intense that it can take him an hour and a half to get there from homestead is this true?

Miami Dade County has a mediocre public education system at best and the schools in Homestead are among the worst in the system. Probable reasons (this my personal view): They have a high proportion of migrant worker kids & the schools are such outlyers (far from the rest of the county) that teachers transfer out as soon as they have the seniority. The ONLY thing you get more of for your money in Homestead is housing -- because it is so far out. The best public schools are in the wealthiest areas like Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay or Miami Beach. If your kids' education is your absolute top priority then either move into one of these top neighborhoods or look for a private school.
