What should i get my boyfriends parents for christmas?

Q. Im not looking to spending a lot, they are well off, and his mom has kind of expensive taste. His dad on the other hand, is the complete opposite. She loves to cook and try new things. I have been dating their 16 year old son for 5 months, and i love his family..They are great to me, and i just want to get them something thats nice, something they will use. Im not a big sentimental person either..I was thinking of getting his mom a bath and body works basket, but i think it will be easier to just get them together 1 gift, unless you have ideas for his dad! HELP PLEASE!

A. I think the B&B gift basket may be inappropriate because you haven't known them long(5 months) and also you are younger. For now, I think you should do general simple gifts and later down the line you can start giving more personal gifts. Try something Christmas oriented. What about a nice ornament engraved with the family name(Things Remembered or Red Envelope.com norm have a nice selection of these for under $30). Or how about making/buying a Christmas gift basket with nice chocolates, etc. in it. Good luck

Needing ideas for a baby sitting coupon for a gift?
Q. I'm going to Vancouver in December to see my boyfriend for Christmas. He shares an apartment with a friend / Co-woker, his wife, and their two children. They are expecting their third child.

To show them how much I appreciate them to let me stay there, I want to do something for them for Christmas. I've finally decided on a coupon, to let them pick a night to go out and we watch the kids.

I need ideas on what to put on the coupon / how to decorate it.

A. Here are some pics of coupon gifts:

The above two are pretty much the same, I think, but one for a boy and one for a girl. You may get ideas off either one (as to how it could look) so I posted both. You may or may not have Adobe Reader, but perhaps you can draw it as in the pictures.

Kind of simple, but you may find it useful.

3. Here's my advice:
You need:
- 1 nice greeting card envelope, (perhaps with gold leafing on the inside?)
- 1 poster card (or similar material) - for the coupon
- Set of paint pens/colored markers and/or colored pencils
- Nice baby print patterns to copy/follow

--- LOL, the last one wasn't necessary 8) But it was so darn cute! You get the idea I think anyway.

- Draw the baby print mainly around the edges, especially only around the edges of the coupon (as the message will be in the middle.)
- If you're having doubts about the letter, find a font style that you like from Wordpad or Microsoft word
- Just be creative!
- You could make the coupon as just a postcard, or as a letter - it's up to you.
- I hope that the baby print is okay. Here's some Christmas ideas (print-wise):

--- ANY Christmas gift card (laying around the house? or Hallmark...)

I hope this helps! Sounds like I fun gift idea! Should be fun to do.

What should I get my mom for her 40th bday?
Q. My mom is going to be 40 on the 17th. She is a mother of 3. My brother is 20, I am 16 and I have an 18 month old sister. Any Ideas. Preferably answers from mothers.

A. I wish your mother a happy birthday. I am also a mother 3, ages 15 months/ 3years/7years. I will be 35 next month and will be traveling with all 3 kids by myself (by plane) on the day of my birthday. Not exactly the present I was thinking of! I love my kids and every minute I have with them (well, almost every minute). However, the best present I can think of at this point is a weekend away. I would love to be able to eat a meal, shower, or read a book without any interruptions (from work, my kids, and even my husband). I think many mothers spend most of their time doing things for their family and often don't have time to take care of themselves. Think about what your mother enjoys to do, other than care for her family, and gift her the gift of time to do that thing. If you are looking for something more practical, I recently received a beautiful silver accordian locket. It is not too big (I don't like big jewelry), but it opens up like a book so that you can fit four pictures in it. It is called the Booklet Locket and was purchased from "red Envelope." I put all three of my girls' and my husband's pictures in it. As much as I wish for time to my self, I miss my girls when I am at work and like to take a peek once in awhile. If you have time, you can have locket sized pictures taken at Wal-Mart to put in it for her birthday. I hope your mother has a great day.

What tool or tools or technical gadget would you recommend for gifts?
Q. I need to figure out something to get my boyfriend for Christmas.
Thanks for your help!!

A. I saw this new gadget in a Red Envelope catalog, and it was really cool, and my husband really liked it, too. It is a solar-powered charger with a USB cable...so it can charge almost anything-like your Blackberry, a digital camera, laptop, etc. It's really cool, because you probably can just set it near a window (it's not very big at all), and it will just charge itself. HOW COOL!!!! Anyway, it's about $100, and a really unique idea.
