Any suggestions for gift ideas for my husband to give the students he drives on the school bus?

Q. My husband drives school bus. He has a group of students that he drives for a private school ranging from Kindergarten to 11th grade. In the past he has given chocolate and candy canes. The district is now frowning about giving candy. I suggested a pencil, but he doesn't seem to like that idea. Any suggestions?

A. Jobs are hard to come by so he should be very careful and not violate the school rules. Sorry, but this is the world we live in. If he can say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays" and not get in trouble, he is lucky (and probably not driving a bus in NY or Calif.). If gifts are allowed, maybe he can give each kid an orange or an apple (nice and healthy and St. Nicholas, the original Santa gave gifts of coins and oranges). You and your husband do sound like nice ppl. Merry Christmas!

What would be a good gift idea for a class of kindergartners?
Q. I volunteer in a kindergarten classroom and I want to bring something small to give the kids at the classroom holiday party. What would be a good idea?

A. Food is out because there are many children that are allergic to numerous things. A short story for each student or a Christmas ornament, Christmas pencils.
Blessings

What's a good farewell gift for a kindergarten class?
Q. I'm a student teacher and Friday is my last day of placement at my kindergarten class, and I would like to do something special. I was thinking something like a game with little prizes, or making cupcakes and letting them put on some decorations. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

A. As you know well, kindegarten kids are too young to understand farewells, but they do love to have fun. Anything bright and colourful that involves a game is a good idea.
How about a little favour for each child (like a ribbon or sticker with their name on it), and wrap them in different layers of a pass-the-parcel.
Just remember when you are playing pass the parcel, who you need to stop the music for!
Lots of cheering when each child gets their favour makes it a lot of fun.
The final parcel could be for your mentor, or the regular teacher.

good luck!
