- Bake him a heart-shaped cake
- A big heart-shaped box filled with whatever he loves: DVDs, fishing gear, guitar strings and picks, etc
- Cut out 100 hearts of various colors of paper. Stick them up all over his room, office, car, or garage door. Write conversation heart sayings on some of them (like �Be Mine, Luv U, My Guy, and so on.) Or make a racier version.

Gift cards are great b/c the receiver can use them over a period of time. Don't worry about the "thoughtlessness" that some (like my mother) associate with this kind of gift - he'll love it. If not, you can come back and punch me in the nose.
I'd take a gift card over any other gift, given the timing of the move.
