Does anyone know any good bay area gift ideas for meetings?

Q. I am hosting a meeting out of state for a group of health and information technology professionals. I wanted to get San Francisco/Bay Area specific gifts for this group with a budget of $10 per person. Anyone have any ideas? This group really likes cookies, coffees, teas, chocolates, and anything edible. Since it'll be out of state, the gift needs to be non-perishable. Thanks for any suggestions you have.

A. Something specific to San Francisco would be great. Ghirardelli Chocolates, a key chain with a cable car, chocolate dipped fortune cookies from China Town, or a loaf of San Francisco sour dough bread and some suggestions that might work.

Here's a few websites that sell this type of thing:

Since Napa Valley is nearby, you could buy Napa Valley wine. There are some under $10.

Hope this helps.

I need suggestions on creative ways to get new clothing donations for a non-profit. Any ideas?
Q. I work for a non-profit in San Francisco that helps adults with kids and families get off of drugs and rebuild their lives. About 35% of the people who come into our programs come straight from a jail, prison, or hospital and have no clothing excpet for what is on their backs. We want to start a clothes closet, so that when these people arrive, we have at least one new set of clothes for them. Unfortunately, we can't take old clothes because we had a bed bug infestation that was traced to a bag of donated clothes.

So, other than calling up Target and such and asking for donations of new clothes or gift cards, do you have any ideas?

It'll earn you some good karma points in addition to your Yahoo Answers points if you have a good, plausible suggestion!! = )
Ok, I can honestly understand why you would think that the clothes were not handled properly, but it shows how little you know about how easy it can be to transmit bed bugs, or how fast those same bugs can get transmitted in a group residential setting. Precautions were taken, and that is why we only can accept new clothes now.
Besides, not all companies are quite as heartless as the second person would like to make them seem. Plenty of corporations are willing to give to charities, even if it is only to make them seem warm and friendly when they really are not.

A. Here's what I am thinking..
Call the outlet stores and ask for donations in return you can offer PR, also check into the trendy clothing boutiques, they have to change their clothing lines quite frequently, and lastly shame on you for not having the used clothes properly cleaned before handing it out.

A. You can try going to some kind of headshop, or place in the mall, spencer like, and getting some strobe lights or black lights and a set that goes with it, and giving it to her. Shouldn't dig a hole though, in case you can't find a way to cover it up :p

Best gifts for someone who misses their hometown?
Q. I want to get my friend a gift for christmas and I want to incorporate her hometown, San Francisco, into her gift. She talks about it all the time and about how she misses it so much. I, of course, can't send her to California so I want something that will remind her of it. Anybody know of any ideas?

A. You may create his portrait (or photo with town) as a photomosaic which will contain images with his favor (San Francisco landscapes and photos of this). Year ago I create one poster for my friend with screenshots of the game "Halo" created using photomosaic software from Artensoft. Look at the examples of photomosaics and collages below.
