6 Month Anniversary gift?

Sarah

Alright, so coming up in about 2 weeks will be my boyfriend and my 6 month anniversary. I know typically this is a "big" anniversary and people tend to get each other some sort of gift. I've never actually been in a relationship this long, though, so I've never really gotten to the gift giving part. My question is, what do people usually get for each other?
Details: My boyfriend and I are both 18. Although its only been 6 months I feel like I've found someone I want to be with for life. Unfortunately, we are in two different states right now and will be on our anniversary because we're off at college.
Ideas for gifts? What have you all done before? What do people typically get one another?
@Tim....he's 1001 miles away. Sex isn't gonna work out....
and I don't have the ability to spend tons and tons of money..
if it helps he's a huge hockey fan/player as a goalie and he's a drummer.

Answer
Think of something that is useful and he can treasure forever. I suggest you get him an accessory box where he can store his stuff. Not just a great gift, it's unique and help him organized too. My sister got me an accessory box from MarqArt and I love the design! Until now I use it to store my stuff like watches and keys. Check their collection, awesome stuff and very classy.

So at first I agreed with the girl above me
But then judging by the guys response under her
I totally agree with him

What if you end up seeing your gift from her?
That spoils the whole surprise...the gift and everything is a great idea
I just think you need a different approach for giving it to her

please help- 6 month anniversary present ideas!?

ali a

it's going to be 6 months with my boyfriend soon, and i'm kind of stuck on what to get him. we're in high school so it can't be too mature or anything. things he enjoys are muscle cars (he has a thunderbird and likes camaros), lacrosse, me :) , penguins, thrice, incubus (the bands).

i tried getting thrice tickets and D1 lax game tickets but neither worked out. any help? i want it to be sentimental because i love him, so any ideas are helpful it doesn't only have to be about the stuff i listed. thank youuuu!

Answer
hmmm... maybe a new CD, a model car (the ones you paint and put together) cologne, something for his car - new seat covers, any of those would be great.

also, gift cards are always a good bet!

clothes, DVD's, new speakers (for car), day at the spa - getting a nice massage.

confused?

Saturday is our 1 month anniversary and I have no idea what to get him? He's 16 and I'm 15. Any ideas are appreciated :) Thanks

Answer
Hello,

Let me help you with this. The general point of an anniversary gift is to make sure that it has MEANING. You don't want to get something superficial (like a gift certificate, for instance) on this occasion.

Here's some ideas:

1. Couple's jewelry is great, and you can engrave both of your names on it- here's an example: http://www.gordonsjewelers.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11492089&camp=GorGoogle&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=11492089

2. A poem that you wrote for him, and fold inside tickets to go to a show (maybe his favorite band), or horseback riding.

3. If you enjoy baking, make his favorite dessert and follow it up with something extra such as a nice watch or bracelet.

4. Take him hot air ballooning.

5. Get him a gourmet gift basket with all of his favorite foods or chocolates, along with a special note for him on the inside. Edible Arrangements makes a wonderful basket if he likes chocolate dipped fruit.

6. Take him to a couples massage at a day spa.

7. Get a custom printed coffee mug, shirt, pen, etc, with a nice picture of the two of you on it, along with a note you wrote for him to go with it.

8. Take him out to a romantic restaurant and share a dessert with him. And if you can prearrange it, have the waiter/waitress hide a small ring on the inside of it. Not an engagement ring, but a men's ring (maybe with his birthstone on it), that you know he'd like.

Q. I love him so much, and these past 6 months have been the best. I want to give him a really creative and homemade gift. Or a gift I can personalize online for not much money. We agreed on no big presents. And if you have a homemade gift idea, give a website if there is one? it helps :)
I want our 6 month perfect with an amazing and unique homemade gift!! Thanks!!!

Answer

What are some gift ideas to get my boyfriend?

Q. Its going to be our 6 month anniversary soon and i don't know what to get him. He means so much to me and is a huge part in my life. Ive known him for several years because he is my brothers best friend, so we are close. Hes 16 by the way. I want to get him something meaningful, but not too much for just a 6 month anniversary. Any help would be great. thanks

Answer
I'd suggest getting a neat little box or basket (baskets may be a little too girly, but if not, opt for a basket) and fill it with some good, but quick and easy snacks. You may think about a bag of chips, a box of granola bars, a bag/can of hot chocolate or coffee mix, some homemade cookies, maybe garlic bread, or some pepperoni sticks. This will depend entirely on his taste. You could think about leaving him a gift certificate for a nice restaurant as well; you two could go on a nice dinner together, and hopefully have a good evening together.

Another good idea is to go to a craft store and buy a plain box. Decorate this box with any decorations you see fit, and title it "Coupons" - Use construction paper and cut even coupon cards; you can write cute little I.O.U's on each coupon, and let him use them when he's having a rough day. Some coupon ideas: "Three kisses." or "One back rub" or even "Will help you tidy your house!" You can stipulate rules if you'd like, "You may only use three coupons per day." or you can have a free for all, but don't be surprised if he uses them all right away. ;) If you have extra construction paper, you could also include an envelope titled "more coupons" - This is a thoughtful idea, plus he'll appreciate all the hard work & free kisses. ;)

If you talk to your boyfriend online or through text message a lot, print off your favorite exchanges of words and throw these all into a "book" - When you two are fighting, missing each other, or simply want to go over some memories, he can go back through this book & read those encouraging words.

If you're thinking about going the "cute" route - you can find a bottle from any craft store, or even at the grocery store (Find a sauce bottle you like, pour out the sauce, wash the bottle, and you're good to go.) You can choose to fill your bottle halfway with sand (colored or not) if you'd like, it's not a requirement. Take a piece of paper and write a note on the paper, or in your case, maybe you should use your love letter. Roll up the letter & stick it inside the bottle. There you have it, a message in a bottle.

Put together a little movie night package so that you and your man can have a wicked night in the near future. Go into a local video store and find out if they have gift certificates available, if they do, purchase one, but just enough to get a couple of movies! If you'd rather go the other way, you could purchase two DVD's, preferably ones that /he/ wants to see. Add a bag of microwavable popcorn, a couple of cans of pop, and a few other munchies. Your boyfriend will love it.

He's bound to love anything that you're going to do for him. Good luck!

Anyone know of any ideas of a good gift to get my boyfriend for our anniversary/him moving?
Q. My boyfriend and I have been together for almost 6 months and we care a lot for each other. He unfortunately is moving and is upset and I'm going away to school in a few weeks and I want to get him something for our anniversary and for him going away so there will always be something there to remind him of me. I just can't think of the perfect thing to give him. I desperately need help. He moves in a week. Anyone have any good ideas?

A. Here are a couple of ideas to consider:

Firstly you could get a great photo of you two and get it framed for him to take when he moves. It would be even better if you have a photo that was taken somewhere that means something to you both - for example at the place where you had your first date, or your favourite hangout.

The other option is to go with a jewllery item. This will of course depend on whether you think it is appropriate and what your budget is... There are some great male rings or even a silver dog tag that could be engraved with a message, or a date.

Good luck!
