i need gift ideas for runners like on a xc team,,for under 10 bucks!! any ideas..i wanna make it special..its like secret santa and idk what to get for gifts..especially runners???

We have secret sisters for state/region in cross country.
we make them signs and get them gifts before regions & state.
any ideas about what to get my "sister" or any good locker sign ideas?
I'd like to not just give her candy but im thinking like maybe some cute gifts
as for the signs -- im thinking of writing Good Luck and putting some cool running quotes??

As far as the gift goes, the reusable water bottles are great and something she'd probably use. They're fairly inexpensive and just a good gift that runners use. For posters, just say something like push it in or something and have a sweet animal on it. Everyone loves disney too, so you could always just do a princess or something that doesn't relate to running.

collars for dress, scarves, set of motifs for dress, jacket, wrap/stole, friendship bracelet/band, belts, hairbands, scrunchies, skirts, jean embellishments,
kitchen veggie scrubber, laces for towels, etc.

frst make a list of the people you want to make stuff for.
add their likes/dislikes/needs/preferences...
then choose the best gift project for each.
see how much time & effort will be reqd to complete all. accordingly, change a few gifts so as to be able to finish all in time.

with left-over yarn you can make little motifs or laces to use while gift-wrapping.

My hubby turns 40 soon and is very excited for an Xterra triathlon he's doing this summer. It will be his first tri, so he doesn't have much in the way of gear. It's a lake swim/mountain bike/trail run race. I'd like to get him something for this event or training. Any ideas from someone who does tri's?

Mother's Birthday Gift Idea's ?

I'm 19 and I need help for my mothers birthday gift for tomorrow I'am seriously out of ideas of what to give her... and my brother said no flowers.. and plus cause i gave her flowers last year.. shes turning 38 by the way...so any suggestions?

Well, my mom always loves clothes, shoes, jewelry, gift cards to her favorite store. She also is a runner, so I get her running gear and apparel - so if your mom is into a sport or a hobby, get her something to go along with that.
Being 19 myself I don't have much money to spend, so you could try handmade stuff. Like, make her her favorite type of cake from scratch, or a home made dinner. Or you could take her out to eat, or take her to see a movie and pay for the dinner/tickets. You could try planning a picnic or a day out somewhere (Ex: one year i took my dad zip-lining, and this year we took him tubing in a river by a old German tourist town). Sometimes, you just have to be really creative about the presents if you can't think of anything.
Surprising my mom with a few balloons, streamers over her door, etc., always makes her appreciative.
Also, if she enjoys gardening, buy her a fruit tree or fruit bush or something. If you live by the beach you could invest in bachi ball.
If you notice something of hers that she uses frequently is getting worn down, you could buy a replacement for her as a present (ex: slippers, jeans, hair straightener).

A. A tablecloth or runner for the table might be good, or some simple but elegant centerpiece might be nice if she wants to have the table looking stylish when it's not being used.

I've noticed that you can get some good deals on vintage table linens in antique stores, thrift shops, or church fairs. I got a really pretty cloth from the 1930's with a neat art deco print. It had never been used (still had the tags on it). You might be able to find some high-quality linen or embroidered cloth that you could wash, iron, and tie up with a pretty ribbon.

You might also get a very simple glass bowl for a centerpiece between meals. Clear glass with some polished rocks or marbles might set off the table. A nice basket to hold fruit would be useful and decorative.

Or you could make her a runner for the table. Just get some nice fabric (a couple of yards of some interesting textured fabric, maybe?) and either hem the edges or finish them with some decorative edging.

I think you could also get a set of place mats, trivets, or hot pads to insulate the table from hot dishes for under $50. Those would be useful and also protect the the table.
