Gift idea?

I'm going to be visiting a 99-year old former neighbor of mine who's in a nursing home. I'd like to bring her a present of some sort. She has no family for me to get ideas from, and I haven't seen her in quite a while. (I live out of state now.) I know she has no money because she had to sign everything over in return for a guarrantee of care for the rest of her life. There are probably some items she needs/would like that she can't get. Any ideas?

By the way, it needs to be something small and easy to pack as I'll be taking it on a plane.

try soap, under garments, night clothes,hair product,dvd's, pictures of you and oyur life so after you leave she'll have something to look at, like a photo album, personal product, my gramda was in a nursing home for a while and she had me buy her personal items soap exc...b/c theirs is crappy and maybe a t-shirt with your face or while your there have a nurse or someone take a picture of the two of you and go to your local walmart and have a printed photo t-shirt made for her its like 20.00 just did that for my grandfather of all my children and he loved it.good luck

Need a unique gift idea for a new nurse?

My niece is graduating on Thursday and will be an R.N. I want to get her something unique. I was looking at Precious Moments nurse figurines but that is so far from up her alley lol I want to give her something useful that she could use on the job but not something like a stethoscope since she already has 2 or 3 of them. Any help would be appreciated!

The last gift I bought for a new nurse was a nice tote bag with her name embroidered on it, nurses have lots of things to tote to work. Also a new watch with a second hand is a good idea.
