Gift Ideas???

Q. What is a good "thank you" gift for a student intern to get for the boss/office after the internship is complete? My budget would be around $30.

Thanks!!

Answer
I think most people, men and women alike, enjoy a nice chocolate candy gift, whether it is a gift basket or a gourmet box of chocolates, or something a bit different, like maybe chocolate covered coffee beans. Usually, people love that kind of thing but rarely buy it for themselves. I know I'd love getting that kind of gift. There are some good chocolate candy gift ideas at http://www.chocolate-candy-mall.com/chocolate-gift-candy.html

It is very thoughtful of you to want to do something like this for your boss. I commend your good spirit!

My woman is pregnant with my first child and I would like to get her things that will make her comfortable. But what should I get what's the best of the best our doctor has a pregnancy spa in his office is that a good idea

Answer
Absolutely!! Depending on what stage she's in (if she's waddling it's a good time) a pregnancy spa day is an excellent idea! (BTW, if cost is an issue, you can do it yourself at home: soft music, candles, and real focus on her)

Hallmark also makes wonderful keepsake ornaments, get one for baby and let your wife unwrap it.

Any good gift ideas for office x-mas party?

mocisme2

-one of those white elephant things so i dont know whos gonna get it. (guy/girl, older/younger, ages 20-50's?)
- $35 minimum and i'd like to keep it under $50

Answer
Our office is limited to a $10 gift exchange that is wrapped and placed on a table. Everyone draws a number to grab a gift. If you are first and get a good gift, you won't keep it because someone else after you can steal your gift, then you get to choose again. If you get a stinking gift, you will take it home, or else drop it in the trash bin on the way out the door.

my friend is turning 21 and i dont know wat to get him...and no i cant get him alcohol because im only 19.

Answer
It all depends on you budget. If you would rather them decide, you can get him the Guy Gear Gift Collection Ensemble. It is a great selection of âboy toysâ for his workshop, den, office, and more. There are many other different themes to choose from and there is no price amount on it when you give it to him. Just an album of gifts for him to choose from. They just pick the gift, go online and say that is the one they want. They pay nothing. Just go to http://ribbon.arcameda.com and search around. When you go into an album, click on "View the Gift Collection" to see what the album contains. There are two ways to give them the gift, as an album with a gift card or just as a gift card. If you need any further help picking one, go to my profile to email me.
Some other ideas.
Luxury Gift Collection Ensemble which features a lavish offering of items for relaxing, cooking, fun, fitness, and more.

Delicious Gift Collection Ensemble that offers him a fabulous selection of delectable food items and handy cooking essentials.

Ribbon Variety Gift Collection Ensemble ($25) that offers a great selection of exciting items to make life more pleasurable, convenient â and fun.

and my favorite Ghirardelli Gift Collection Ensemble which is for chocoholics.

Brothers and Sisters, What are some good gifts to give at an international convention?

Kerika

Do you have any nice gift ideas and ways to give them my contact info while I'm there?
I asked this to some Witness friends on Flickr that I know. I'm looking for any additional input. Thanks so much.
Thanks Tropicales for those very great ideas. We're assigned to Hawaii, at the end of November.
Thank you so much everyone! I'm gonna write these things down and try to do several different ones for variety.

Answer
We have been to three different International Conventions.

We have given -

Postcards with the name of our state - with colorful outside scenes.
Special made "business cards" with our photo and address, email, etc.
Very brightly colored "glitter" pencils with "luminous" erasers and mini pencil sharpeners
Fancy ink pens and markers
Little notebooks with pretty covers. Mini size.
Ties - put in baggies to protect for them.
Toiletries - mini size
Miniature paintings - found at Meijers for 50 cents.
Hankies tied to little spray colognes.
State quarters representing our state.

We have received -

Home made beaded necklace
Congregation photos
Bookmarks - paper and embroidered with verse
Little homemade address books - 2 inch squares
Home made candy - shaped as a "sheep"
Cookies in baggies with foreign language tract attached.
Homemade book cover for Examining the Scriptures
Home made greeting cards

One brother from the German Bethel gave us a whole page size picture reprint of a magazine illustration of Jesus and the little children on thick paper - one of my prized possessions.

One child from Ukraine gave me his figurine toy. Of course, I had to give him one of everything I had!

We are going to South Africa in December and I haven't gotten everything together yet, but I have been looking as I shop.

We got the "business cards" made at Office Max, and they did a beautiful job. They were 2 1/2 by 4. Picture on card was 1 1/2 by 2.

When we went to Ukraine, we were asked to bring extra food to pass out. So we packed a suitcase full of non-perishables that was suitable for lunches.

But those were for special instructions for a special assembly.

They are grateful for anything that will remind them of you and the special occasion.

I'm running low on money this year, so I decided to try and make gifts for people. I'm looking for gift ideas for my friends and my mom and dad. I'm 15 so it can't be anything to childish, but it has to be something I can actually do by Christmas. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Answer
Make a laminated bookmark: find pictures or photos that they would like - animals, sports, flowers, favorite band, hearts, cars, pictures of family or you two - it can be a few small pics or just one, glue it to construction paper (you can make it two-sided), make sure you know how wide you want it to be before you start with the glue, then take it to Staples/Office Max, Office Depot or a store like that and get it laminated, then cut it. After hole-punch the top and put a ribbon or twine of some kind through the hole and tie it in a knot.

Make a 'love jar' and fill it with origami hearts, flowers and slips of paper with notes of appreciation written on them or 'I love you' written in different languages (on the back write which language it is).

Use an empty jar or soup can to make a pen/pencil holders - take the label off and wrap them in fabric or colored paper and decorate them with pictures the two of you or other pictures they would like.

Quick Banana Chocolate Chip Bars

1 Medium Ripe Banana, peeled
1 Cup Whole Wheat Flour
¾ Cup Brown Sugar, packed
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
½ Teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
¼ Teaspoon Salt
1/3 Cup Olive or Vegetable Oil
2 Tablespoons Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1 Egg
¼ Cup Chopped Nuts
½ Cup Chocolate Chips (or what feels good)

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray small rectangular or 9x9 square baking pan with non-stick spray.

Chop or mash banana. Combine with flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, oil, milk, vanilla and egg in large bowl. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips to this mixture OR save them to add as topping, sprinkling on top of mixture after poured into the pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

Isabellas (Oatmeal Cookies)

1 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cups flour
1 1/2 cups oats
Dash salt, optional
Powdered Sugar

Cream butter and sugar until light. Mix in vanilla, then flour, oats and salt. Chill thoroughly, about ½ hour in the refrigerator. Shape into small balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet. Flatten with a fork, crisscrossing. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-18 minutes (depending on your oven). Sprinkle with Powdered Sugar

Jumbles

3 large bananas, mashed
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup chopped dates
1/3 cup oil
Dash of salt
1 tsp vanilla extract

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients, let set 15 minutes. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Spicy Oatmeal Crisps
Pepper may sound like an odd ingredient for a cookie, but it complements the other spices well (although you can omit it if you prefer).
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon ground allspice
½ teaspoon grated whole nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (optional)
1 cup packed brown sugar
5 tablespoons butter or stick margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
½ cup regular oats
Cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour and next 7 ingredients (flour through pepper) in a medium bowl. Beat sugar, butter, and vanilla in a large bowl with a mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Stir in flour mixture and oats.

Drop by level tablespoons 2 inches apart onto baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes or until crisp. Cool on pan 2 to 3 minutes or until firm. Remove cookies from pan; cool on wire racks.

What are some creative gift ideas to bring to a holiday party?

We are sure a lot of you are attending some fabulous holiday parties. Whether it's a work party or a friend's party, let's give the community some creative gift ideas to bring. We'll give 50 extra points to the most creative idea! Thanks for participating!

Answer
An idea for the single guest that would work for both an office and family party would be to offer to take pictures of party goers as they arrive, alongside the host. Guests would be at their best looking when arriving, and the photographer gets to meet everyone in a festive manner.

This could suit every budget, since one could use a camera or phone, make prints or send as texts or emails.

One could go crazy and make a back drop, or get crafty and make a memory book, or just send them to the host's phone the next day to enjoy.

My best friend is graduating this year and senior night is coming up for his ice hockey team. What are some good gift ideas for his senior night?

Answer
At the moment, I can only think of the most neutral of gifts....a big pack of balloons, a congratulatory card, and a Visa gift card....

Is your friend going to university/graduate school? Perhaps you can buy some college gear or a "survival" kit.

If there isn't any more school, then perhaps you can give something a little more sentimental, like a photobook of your favorite memories together.

Another idea: My parents once bought a gilded gold frame for a cousin who was graduating so that he could hang it in his room/office.

I have a new website at
http://www.specialhomeproducts.com
Check it out! I have many new home decor and office decor products, as well as great gift ideas for every special occasion....just need ideas as to how to market this without it costing an arm and a leg....am working on a limited budget. The idea is to MAKE money with it, NOT SPEND every dime I have just to get it marketed and ranked on the search engines. If anyone out there has resources for excellent internet marketing, that is reputable, NOT SCAMS, and is easy to understand for the beginner, let me know! I know amazon.com has several books you can get, such as "search engine optimization for dummies", or "keywords for dummies"...may have to go with that for now, to save on my expenses...already put TOO much into this project to give up on it....getting several hits a day to the site, but still no significant sales....any help I can get out there would be greatly appreciated. debs3

Answer
You can do it for free no problem but it will require a little time on your part.

First you need to get two books from the library:

Designing with Web Standards http://www.zeldman.com/dwws/

Don't make me think http://www.sensible.com/buythebook.html

Reading and understanding these two books alone will put you ahead of 99.9% of webdesigners.

Then you need to read a free, reliable and up to date SEO tutorial. There are only two of these on the web that are considered worth reading.

That's it! Read, learn and implement.

Good luck!

Any brilliant ideas out there for office gift exchange?

Q. We are having an office Christmas party and gift exchange with a $10 limit. Any ideas for creative wrapping or a memorable gift idea? It's a very conservative office, but they love creative gifts. Please help!! I really don't want my gift to be the last, lonely one in the pile again this year.

Answer
When I used to work corporate, we did a secret santa. We hung stockings around the office in our dept. and planted little gifts in them throughout the month.. then we had a holiday luncheon and gave our person their gift.. costing under $20. It was so much fun getting things in the stocking..
