How do you entertain a house warming party?

Q. My husband and I recently moved into our first home and were planning a house warming party. Any ideas on what to do, IF anything at all? Are there any games or ideas you have seen or done?

A. All the housewarmings I've been to have been just a basic party. A thoughtful guest might bring something for the new home, guest towels, wine, etc. It would not be right to request gifts, that's just tacky!

No games, just a social hour with finger foods.

Instead you might have a friend who could sponsor the party, like a bridal shower, and set a theme for gifts. For example, "Kitchen gadgets under $25".

Wording for honeymoon shower/bachelorette party invitations?
Q. I'm throwing a shower/bachelorette party for my sister-in-law-to-be. She has already had a traditional bridal shower with toasters/kitchen gadgets. I want this shower to be honeymoon specific. How do I ask guests to bring gifts from sunscreen to sexy lingerie? Also, after the shower we are planning a girls night out. How do I let guests know they will be responsible for their own cover charges, etc.?

A. Just how many showers does your friend think she's entitled to? Presumably, the guests have already been to the engagement party, bridal shower, etc. not to mention the wedding and maybe a housewarming party. It's a lot to ask, and if you haven't sent out invitations yet, in my *honest* opinion you should really consider canceling it.

If you're not going to cancel it, and presumably this is a little shindig with her *closest* friends who *want* to bring more presents, you should do it verbally. Tell them that you're getting together at such-and-such place and that you think it would be a great idea if they bring sexy presents for the honeymoon. Mention the cover charge, and they'll understand that they're paying their own way.

What should I ask for for my 15th birthday?
Q. I'm about to turn 15 and I don't know what I should ask for. I am a girl. I might get a laptop or get my room redone but my parents want to know some other gift ideas. I might ask them to donate some money to some organization I like but what other things can little things can I ask for?
I like animals, arts and crafts, I recently discovered that I like baking

A. Ask for some baking stuff. Pans, recipe books, kitchen gadgets, etc. You can take them off to college later on :)
