What do you give to a 7 yr old girl.?

I am Hispanic, and recently moved to an all American neighborhood. They are all very friendly and they welcome us to their neighborhood. My next door neighbor has a daughter that will be 7 this weekend, and I do not what to get her as a gift. Please I need your help.

As for the first post, Harry Potter is waaaay over the reading level of all but the very brightest seven year olds... when I was seven, I could read on a fifth grade level, and I've read all of the Harry Potter books now, and I think they would have been over my head at seven. But other books might be a great idea!

Girls at seven are starting to appreciate cash, so a (small) cash gift is fun for them. I generally don't like to give cash only... it's fun for the girls to receive something like a new purse or wallet (they run $5-10 for a little girl) with a ten dollar bill inside.

I have a LOT of kids to buy for this year... I'm hoping I can find some crafty or cheap/creative ideas. I want them to get something they enjoy without breaking the bank. Please help!!
9 year old girl: girly girl, monkeys, feeling older
7 year old boy: into soccer, out doorsy stuff... wants to be an "army guy" like his uncle
7 yr old boy: into detectives, horse riding, soccer
6 year old girl: loves horses, horse back riding, ballet, country music, jewelry, feeling older, girly girl
4 year old boy: loves transformers, Cars, action figures, etc
3 year old girl: okay.. she's a toughie.. she's a BRAT ... the kind who shakes boxes and says with disgust "OH.. its clothes"... she likes ducks
2 year old boy: likes sticks, trucks, noise makers
six month old boy: ... books, noise makers

*SIGH* They're all pretty wealthy.. so they'll be getting big expensive presents from their parents (my brothers and sisters) and my parents. I want them to enjoy the presents...but not kill myself. It could be a general gift for all of them, or specific to them. Whatever you can think of... for all of them or for ANY of them. HELP HELP HELP!
I'm willing to get crafty and spend time.. just give me some ideas!

So far only phoenixellen has the right idea... barbie dolls, cds, and the like.. even from wal mart add up REALLY fast. Plus they're already getting expensive things from others. Who wants a cheap barbie when you already got 10 expensive ones?
I think I will go check our hobby lobby/michaels for craft kits.
What about the younger kids? 4, 2, and the baby?

I think your idea of crafty is great...it keeps them busy and allows them to use their imagination. When my children were young...and now when I buy for "Adopt-a-Family" children from Salvation Army for Christmas, I like to get them all different types of paper (white, colored construction paper, etc) and coloring materials--crayons, paint, markers, safety scissors, glue stick...you can get "kits" at Michael's (or Wal-Mart, Target, etc.) for $3 and $5 and add coloring books that are age specific or color by number/paint by number kits or instruction booklets on how to draw, etc. If you have more money and want to get something more detailed for the older ones, you can get sets to make beaded jewelry or bracelets with embroidery thread (for the girls) and model cars or planes (simple ones) for the 7 year-old boys.
