My grandmother's 80th birthday is in July and my mom wants it to very special. My grandmother is Colombian and we would like some ideas on how to make a very sweet loving, oldies type birthday party. We are really desperate for ideas. Thank You for your time!! â¥

I think u should invite the most lovely friends to her whom are in her age and make this a sa surprise ... also u can draw some Beautiful pictures as she is sitting with u and write cool things on these pictures as " my lovely grandma".. "we love u"... "u gave us lots of love".... u can also use funny respected illustration and comments such as a grand bird wearing an eyeglasses with her children in the nest ...
Of course try to know what she is really need to buy and bring it to her as a gift ....

my mom still drives and loves to drive over 4 states to visit relatives as often as she can. We are having a surprise birthday party for her, looking for some good ideas.

Another idea, this will require a little more effort: ask other family members to collaborate and come up with "80 reasons we love you". Type the text into a book (using a coffee book table template, maybe?) or have it made in a digital photography store or something similar. Since she likes to drive, car rental places like Hertz rents Jaguars, Audis and the like for around $100 a day and unlimited mileage. It's a fun treat for someone who would never be able to afford a luxury vehicle, if the case. A less expensive option is a gift certificate for an oil change, lube and filter service (or even a full service) or gift card for free gas for a month or something similar. Well, it's useful for those who are always driving.
