My friend is having a baby and I want to get her a gift, but I don't want to leave out her 3 year old son. Does anyone have any ideas for big brother/little brother gift ideas besides shirts??

Big brother books are always a good idea. It introduces them to the idea of being a big brother and shows them how they can help mommy around the house. Also, activities for big brother to do on his own so mommy can tend to the newborn. For example, coloring activities (AquaDoodle is awesome because it is coloring without any mess at all).

A barbie, doll, or a toy that moves or talks! Little girls love that kind of stuff! Or simply give her a bunch of junk food, they love that too!
