What would a 13 yr. old girl like for Christmas?

Q. A woman at work had her husband just abandon her and her two children, ages 9 and 13. A couple of us are buying gifts for the kids... I have some ideas for the 9 yr. old boy, but what do 13 year old girls like these days? I have absolutely no information about her other than her age, and don't want to ask the mother what the little girl would like, for fear that she'd be embarrassed about her situation...we're not really supposed to even know about the husband leaving! Help!!

A. What lovely work mates you are so thoughtful.

Thinking of a list don't expect you to be buying them all just some ideas:-

Hair products
perfume
make-up
necklace/chain
watch
clothes
bath products
smelly's
socks
slippers
nightwear

I think she a bit old for high school musical stuff

Just some things my 13yr got on her list for Christmas

Hope my friend would be like you lot if anything happened to my marriage

What are some unique homemade xmas gift ideas?
Q. Creative, afforable, unique gift ideas and crafts???
i need help-i have less than 100 bucks to spend on these ppl:

1)My mom who loves handmade and unique things(she gets 3 gifts cause of her birthday)
2)A picky 9-yr old sister(something huge and affordable)
3)A outgoing and energetic grandma that likes to collect everything especially dolls)
4)My 2 friends that i work at the library with(ones a rocker boy and the others a christian girl)
5)The elders at the library(something simple, something that they can put on their desk maybe)

A. 1) Make her a blanket that she can keep on the back of the couch. If you go to a fabric store or Walmart you can get fleece anywhere from 2.00 and up. Then just fringe the edges. You can be as creative as you want. Then grab a mason jar some epsom salt, food coloring and concentrated liquod potpouri (in a scent she would like) mix the salt with a few drops of food coloring and scent. (not to much on the color or scent, it only takes a little bit) Mix it in a bag until the color and scent are mixed well with the salt. Pour into the jar and tighten with lid. Add a small piece of material and ribbon to make it cute and add the tag- Add a handful to a hot bath for a relaxing break. For the third gift, make her a homemade gift card for a couple peaceful bath time breaks. That should make her happy.
Cost 10.00-15.00
2) Make her a photo board. Grab a thin piece of board. Something that is like 3ft by 3ft. But very thin. Just a little thicker than cardboard. Put something you can stick tacks in. Cover it with a thin layer of batting, and her favorite color of matierial. Then take some cute cloth ribbon and run it back and forth to make a criss cross shape (like tic tac toe, or a chess board # kind of design.) Then tack the ribbon in place with cute little tacks. Start her out with a disposable camera. Then help her arrange the pics when they are developed. She can add her school friends and other photos.
Cost 10.00

3)You can make Grandma a mop doll. Their really easy.
You can get the mop and the pattern at most fabric shops. She will love it. I made a few of them. The more creative you are the nicer they are.
cost 10.00-15.00

4) Get them stockings of goodies. You can make them special for each
Cost 10.00

5)Since you see them daily (most of them right) Make a big plate of cookies one day and some punch. Give them each a card telling them merry christmas.
cost 15.00

Hope some of it helped.

Any ideas for 9 yr old boy sleepover party?
Q. I'm looking for fun ideas for a sleepover birthday party for about six 9yr old boys. I don't want them to just sit in front of the PS2 all night. Any ideas for fun games, activities, gift bag treats, etc?? Both indoor and outdoor game ideas would be appreciated. Also, any tips or advice from parents who have lived through one of these parties? lol

THANKS!!!!

A. I've hosted my share of sleepovers despite my young age (lots of brothers and I'm the oldest). I would recommend if it's warm where you live, to let them loose with water guns or balloons, if that's not your sort of thing I always thought foods make or break a sleepover. Something I used to always do was buy the ingredients to make mini pizzas and then let the kids make their own, they really enjoy it. At the end of the night though some of the best memories they'll have is being in front of that PS2 with their friend(s) so don't take that away completely.

I am Having a hard time finding a gift?
Q. I have to buy a gift for a 9 year old skater boy and a little evil 3 year old that has everything. Does anyone have any suggestions.

A. It really depends on your price range, but here are some websites you can find gifts:
For the 9 yr old skater: www.360skate.com, www.plusskateshop.com another option is a skating video game, like Tony Hawk: Proving Ground, it's available for most game consoles or a bongo board.
For the evil 3 yr old: There's always coal, j/k. ToysRus.com has a guide for ideas for kids of specific ages, he might enjoy a monster truck or pirate ship playset.
I hope this helps. Happy holidays!

Please help me come up with ideas for kids christmas gifts!?

Q. The children are:
5 yr old boy in kindergarten, smart, likes video games (but has too many already)
3 yr old girl, spunky, into her baby dolls and make up/hair, rambunctious.
9mo old boy.. has everything from older sibs.
Family has a verrrry limited budget... Only spending $40 per kid. Thank you!

A. Your little boy is proably way into video games and things that control...if he doesn't already have one, I would suggest a remote control truck or car...just a small one...I think they are under $20!
If she doesn't already have one, your little girls sounds like the type to want a "make-up' hair doll. where you comb the dolls hair, and do her make up...
A 9 month old usually likes things that are noisy, but if you don't want noisy toys, get him somthing to play with that won't roll away...unless he's crawling or walking...then I'd get something that will help him walk.

A. Go to www.gifts.com. When you get there, you can use the shop by personality option which lets you pick whether you are shopping for a man, woman, girl, or boy & then it will take you thru a series of questions to get an idea of what kind of person he/she is. When you get thru that a lot of gift ideas will pop up. Even if you don't find exactly what you are seeking, it'll help get your ideas flowing. Good luck~

ideas for 9 yr old boys army party indoors?
Q. Need great ideas for 9 yr old army party?
my son had a really hard year and has been really strong now it is his birthday and i want to throw him an awesome birthday party he loves army and has since he was 2
need food ideas, decoration ideas, games, gift bag ideas
also there is about 6 inches of snow here and he has health concerns and cant be outside much in the cold

A. My grandson has Army parties every year:) In fact, all he'll wear is camoflauge:) ..... If you have room, set up some tents. They might be happy just watching some movies on tv (Stripes; Private Benjamin - other comedies involving the military). You could serve Pigs in a Blanket in mess kits; with veggies & Ranch dip and chips - or pizza. Luckily, my grandson lives in California, and my daughter has his Nov. parties outside, with a firepit for them to sit around; and they spend the night in the yard in tents (my son-in-law sleeps out there too, and he just retired as a Staff Sgt). If you have a fireplace; and the tents; they could lay there and watch the movies; and just "be boys".....

Ideas for birthday gift for a bright 4 yr old girl. Would like suggestions for specific toys/games.?
Q. I'm her grandma. I give her lots of books. We have loved collecting Little People but I think she may be outgrowing them. I'm looking for something she might want to spend some time with and probably play with alone.
All your answers are SO great! Thanks so much! She has MegaBlocks which are like big legos. Of course, she has a Cabbage Patch doll and a Cabbage Patch newborn. I've gotten several sets of Fisher Price "Little People." (I love them too.) She does still play with them a lot. She has a great imagination. I'll give her mom a call to help me pick. Your ideas should help me with her birthday and Christmas. Thanks.

A. one of my favorite gifts to give to both boys and girls of ages from 3-8 or 9 is an art pack.

I begin with a fishing tackle type box and in the sections of the top I put in things like small rulers, stickers, roll of tape, colored pencils, pens/pencils, scissors, paper clips, and other assorted supplies. In the bottom or larger section I place things like various sizes of markers, crayons, notepads, other drawing tools like stencils . And then I decorate the outside with the childs name, and stickers.

then in another bag or briefcase(even the paper or cloth ones work well--and the child feels like a grownup when they use it. Inside I place things like assorted types of paper, colored(get good quality) drawing paper (get a few different types some for markers, some just for pencils, and some for painting) and maybe add an idea book or two (but no coloring books)

All of these ideas should also be based on the age of the child. and should be used with adult supervision until you are sure the child will use them correctly and safely.

I have been told fequently that these are sometimes the favorite gift that a child has recieved at a bithday party...it allows them to explore different types of art mediums and gives them good self esteem about their work and encourages them to take care of their things.

My own children also recieved similar gifts from me and always bring them up when they talk about gifts they have enjoyed the most....my youngest hated having to give up her "box" when she went to college--it had been with her since she was about 8 and she kept all of her "special" art supplies in it and hid her favorite pens and pencils in it to keep them from her sister.

What do you get for a 9-yr old boy for a Christmas gift?

Q. I am trying to get a gift for my 9-yr nephew. He loves the Disney-Pixar move Cars, he loves cars period. I don't want to spend more on his sister than I do on him because their mother and her mother spend more on his sister. $40 is my gift limit for each gift. Does anyone have any ideas?

A. romote car is always good.

I imagine he has the movie, however, they make games as well with the cars theme.
Even traditional games, like monopoly and such disney themed.

But hotwheels has this toy that I love and I am getting for a 7 year old boy, if he has a computer, you just plug it in, and the cartridges for it, are little hot wheel cars.

This is only $20, then you can just give him $10-$20 cash as well, if you're into giving money. Or buy him an additional cartridge to go along with it.
HotWheels.Com Turbo Driver Controller it is called
