I need to buy my god-daughter a present for Christmas, she's at an awkward age and I just can't get a read on what to buy her...What do 9-year old girls like these days?? Help!!

Every year we struggle to figure out what to get our niece for Christmas. She has always enjoyed the princess line (ugh) but now shes getting old enough that she isn't as much into dolls. Lately however she has started enjoying doing models, so I thought we would do something different this year and instead of getting whatever princess game/movie/clothing... we could get her something more hands on that she could construct. Any ideas or suggestions on a set that could be built, but is still girly-ish (I think she would prefer something that was pink)? Or other suggestions in general. Thanks a lot.

What about the round knitting looms? I have many children who really love them and they can make things for gifts. It comes with a hat pattern & they make many other things too.

I want to give, as a token of gratitude, something to this young female and to these two children, a 9 year old boy and a 7 year old girl, who will help me prepare a psychological report posing as subjects. They will be asked to perform several psychological tests as well as to fill out questionnaires and forms with intimate and maybe critical personal information. They are assured that this information will be kept confidential although it will be supervised, and I will make sure that this report actually ends up with them.

I had to do this when I first started grad school. I administered a lengthy cognitive test to a 9 year old and had to write a report. Before the test, I did a quick interview and discovered that the little girl really liked art, so I got her a little art case with crayons, pencils, paints, and pastels. So, maybe you can ask the boy and girl what they like and what their hobbies are. It will help you build rapport and you'll get some gift ideas too.

Plus getting other presents from other family members which would probably be toys or clothes. I wanna get them something they could need in the future like a savings bond or an interest increasin savings account. Yet i don't really want bond because they are worthless and i don't wanna open savings accounts for someone elses kids. Please some 1 give me some ideas!

Personally I think Savings bonds are a great idea. My parents got me one every year as a Christmas gift and when I got older I used the money towards my first car.

My brother-in-law and his fiancee have asked my daughters and my niece to be "gift attendants" in their wedding. The girls are 11, 9 and 9 years old. They said that the girls do not need formal dresses like the flower girl will be wearing, and that they can wear whatever they wish. I'm just wondering what their responsibilities will be during the ceremony. This isn't something I've heard about before, and I don't know the bride-to-be very well, so I feel uncomfortable asking. Any ideas?

Gift attendants are for the reception. They are in charge of looking after any gifts that are brought by the guests. They also help put them in whatever car the gifts need to go in to go home. Btw, this sounds a bit weird that they have asked children to do this?

I'm doing a Giving Tree project, and I was assigned a 9 year old girl, and on her wishes list she wrote clothes and an Ipod. There's no way I can afford to give some stranger an Ipod, but I feel like I should give her more than just a new outfit? Any ideas about what she might like?

If your doing this as a Giving Tree, first make sure that the kid you select is actually the kid your giving to. An Ipod does not seem like a gift that should be given to someone on a giving tree. Most giving trees are for needy kids, so clothes would be first on the list. Maybe a few stuffed animals would also make her day. There are a ton of hand-held games

So I'm starting my Christmas shopping and I'm looking to buy some nice gifts for my boyfriends 2 girls. One of his daughters is 6 and the other is 9. I've already got the 6 year old covered but I'm clueless for the 9 year old. I can't spend to much money on them but I do want them to have a nice Christmas. the their dad could read to them (quality time is always special).
Or you can get her a great movie, like Tangled so she can watch it
