Gift ideas for a 5 year old boy?

My son, Noah's birthday is coming up, and I just cannot think of anything to get him. I have been to numerous stores, searching for his "big present," and then I buy him a bunch of little things. A "big thing," would be something that costs less than about $300. And the small stuff I just get from the dollar tree. He likes cars and trucks, and stuff like that. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

I got one for my 4 yrs old son and he loves it. it has been his favorite to for over six months and for me it breaks all records.
you can stay in your budget and get him one at walmart for 189$ for a 4 wheeler or go wild and spend a little over 300 for the jeep.you cant go wrong and it make a very big gift.

Hi there. So my 3 year old tells me he wants Play-Doh from Santa - so that's covered. I'm drawing a blank on what else to get them. I need gift ideas AND also stocking stuffer ideas. For stocking stuffers I just have Play-Doh small pack and a cool toothbrush. All input is appreciated. :-)

Well I have a 1 year old daughter and a 5 year old niece. For my 1 year old daughter I am getting her the Fischer Price my first purse, Fischer Price tea set, books, Little Einstein DVD, potty traing potty chair, and some clothes. In her stocking she is getting Gerber Puff snacks, a new toddler straw cup, CD with children's songs, and a mini Disney Princess doll. My 5 year old niece is getting Dora the Explorer and Scooby Doo DVDs, books, clothes, and dress up clothes. In her stocking she is getting M & M's, play makeup and jewelry, coloring book and crayons, and Littlest Pet Shop toys.

For your 1 year old boy you could get him books, toy cars and trucks, blocks, clothes, pretend tool set. In his stocking you could put toddler snacks, sippy or straw cup, children's CD's. For the 3 and 5 year old you can get toys, clothes, books, DVD's, ride on toys. For their stockings get candy, fruit, CD's, small toys.

Birthday gift for a 5 year old boy?

I am going to a double birthday party this weekend for the 2 year old girl I babysit and her 5 year old brother. I already have the 2 year old's present picked out, but I have no clue what to get the 5 year old. He loves video games, but his mom has been trying to get him to play outside more so something for outdoor play would be nice. Does anyone have any ideas on what a 5 year old boy would like to play with?

Five year old boys are very into super heros. Anything Spiderman, Batman, even Star Wars related is typically a hit. Transformers and action figures are good, too. Board games are good for rainy days and family game nights. The 5 yr. old I nanny for is obsessed with the games Sorry!, Trouble, and Sequence for Kids.

As far as outside stuff, you could do beach themed items, sand building items, sidewalk chalk, scooter, tennis racket and ball, basketball, soccer ball....Target has a couple of great "outdoor geared" aisles in the toy section. Check there for some more ideas.

I don't want to spend more than $25 and am not really sure what he likes as far as characters, etc.

If it's really last second then I would recommend you to give his parents money or a gift card for that amount so they know what he likes and they'll take him to his favorite shop.

However here are some alternatives
1) An action-man figure
2) A teddy bear
3) All boys love cars :)
4) A police car or fire engine to play with


That's about as much things I can think of :)

I don't know what to get my boys for Christmas. They have to many toys. What would be good for a 5 year old boy besides toys?

Clothes--especially special things your might not normally buy for them like cool name brand sneakers.

What about science experiments that are age appropriate...a container for growing rock candy, crystal garden, an ant farm.

maybe put together a special gift with a coupon book made up for him promising 1 or more special things such as a dinner out with just you and him, a day at the zoo or other venue, one day without chores, extra bedtime story etc. That way not only will he get a cool gift it will last more than just for Christmas and you will be able to build special memories with him.
