My daughter drew a 14 year old boy's name out of the secret Santa hat at her Kung Fu class, and I have until next Sunday to buy him something under $10. My daughter is only 7 so she doesn't know anything about him.

Open to any ideas. Whoever's idea I go with will be best answer. :D

Well, he's 14 so, i wouldn't go with a toy, because he's probably to old for that.(I'm a 14 year old girl). You could get him a tee shirt, or maybe a soccer ball? You could get him a box of chocolates? When I done secret Santa I got a guy and our limit was 15$. So, I got him a gift card for McDonald's and a chocolate orange, or you could a 10$ one, from like Tim Horton's or another cafe? Another option could be an itunes card, if he has an ipod or iphone. Baseball cards, Star War cards, a pkg. of 3 hot wheel cars(you can get at Dollar General ) for a $1.00, he might like stickers too, but for a boy,like(sports),motorcycles, cars,etc.You can get all of the above at Dollar General, and it won't cost that much.

I would like to take him a little gift to let him know im thinking about him..I thought about taking him a little tub of ben and jerrys ice cream but thought i would see if anyone has any other better ideas. All 3 of my children got there tonsils out...I would say take him a quit activity it gets boring sitting there they have these cool science kits you can buy for like 10 dollars at the stores! He is going to get bored! Or coloring books and crayons something like that:)

I think the little ones are so much easier to buy for. Wait until you have teenagers and you have no idea what to buy them anymore... so I'm rather surprised with this question.

You can get him anything from...
- craft supplies like crayons/marker sets
- stuffed animal of his favourite animal
- colouring and activity books
- electronic toys & games (like plug and play games that you plug into your TV)
- since it's winter... think sleds or "saucers", or if any of his parents skii or snowboards... think about getting a mini snowboard or a pair of skiis to get him started.
- i know little guys like lego, or even k'nex are great fun.

Should I buy a gift for the people I babysit for?

I've been babysitting 1-2 times a month for one family for 1 year, and the other for 2 years. Should I get the parents something, or the kids? If so, any ideas for presents for the kids who have everything? There are 3 year old boy & girl twins in one family, and a 6 year old girl and 10 year old boy in the other.

What a thoughtful thing to want to do!
I wouldn't buy them anything, you babysit to earn money, and it isn't a lot. I would give them a gift however.
The best present, and also the cheapest, would be to make an assortment of home made biscuits for each family.
Everyone will be able to enjoy them, and they will be thrilled to know you went to so much trouble for them.
Put them together in a large cellophane bags, and tie up with red ribbons and holly leaves, or baubles, and they will look really festive. Don't forget to give them a card as well.

Q. Anyone have any fun gift ideas for a 10 year old boy that is financially disadvantaged. He is already receiving the necessity gifts (e.g. new coat, gloves, hat, clothes, etc.). Obviously, if he is in financial need he should get the necessities, but he's a 10 year old boy and allowed to want things other than those gift ideas. Can anyone think of something a 10yo boy may like for Christmas within a budget of $20-25?

A. Gift cards a always a good idea. You could ask the parents if there is anything there children want. I know from being a 14 year old boy myself that gadgets are always welcome (Note not all gadgets are electronic like people think) You could get these gadgets from all sorts of shops like TESCO (USA) G4 (England). Quite often i find that presents can be found just by looking round shops and seeing if anything takes your eye. I hope this helps.
