I'm Christmas shopping online, and all that I have left are a 4 year old boy and a 6 year old boy. They both love spiderman and all of the characters associated with him. I want some good gift ideas that would make their Christmas special. They already have the costumes, and I would like to stay away from the "toy" thing (they have plenty of spiderman toys). I plan to spend between 50 and 60 dollars on each child, and get them at least two gifts. Any ideas?

What to bring as a gift to my host family in Germany?

I will be participating in a student exchange program, and I need to bring gifts for my host family in Germany. My host family consists of a 16 year old girl, 6 year old boy, and their mother and father. I live in Indiana, and so far they have requested that I bring peanut butter, a picture book of the US or Indiana, and clothes (of American football and Indy 500 logos.). Do you have any other ideas of stuff that I can bring as gifts?

Definitely bring American things. They are participating in this exchange program because they want to learn more about your culture.

Their suggestions are a good start for culturally U.S. things. You might also look for puzzles that relate to the U.S. (map style, or photos of landmarks). You could bring a band t-shirt and CD for a band that's popular in your area. Candy is another thing that tends to be fairly region specific, so things like Sour Patch Kids and Swedish fish may be different than what they have there.
