Pink and S

Basically my little brother's 9th birthday was today (I'm 13)

He had this awsome party that we planned LAST NIGHT because he suddenlt decided he wants a party. He took NO part of the planning, he didn't help AT ALL!

Anyway, I had to watch some stupid movie with him and 6 other 9 year old boys. IT WAS HORIBLE! We almost got kicked out of the theater for bad bahavior.

Anyway... he gets a gift from everybody, and my dad gave him $200!

The big deal about that is, my dad never gives anybody gifts, doesn't really care about birthdays. When its MY birthday my day starts with a list of chores to do... and then my dad remembers that its my birthday like a few hours later.

Anyway, long story short, my brother gets this GREAT party, bunch of presents and $200 from my dad.

On my birthday, nobody really remebers about it until I bring it up myself... and I've never had a party...EVER!

Am I right to be mad...?!?!?

Rant #2:

My little brother is kissing up to my parents all the time like asking random questions about world war 2 and stuff... and they are like
"Wow, our son is so intelegent"
but reallly he walks away being all like "Hahah! I dont care about that stuff, I just want the attention"

Ugghh

Any tips, ideas, anything to help me?? He always steels all the attention!

I have sent my husband (on deployment) alot of packages and im starting to run out of things to send him....i need some help pleeeaaseee!!

Answer
Someone here needs to get a life. Get your own answer and stop copying and pasting my ideas and answers. If you are at least going to "steal" it, change the words around. This is not directed toward the person asking the question but someone who answered the question.

Anyways, have you tried certain sites to let other people adopt him. Trust me some people will send some werid and/or funny stuff. I have a few older ladies that have adopted my husband who is deployed and he laughs sometimes at what they send.

Someone seemed to put the websites that I put down for care packages. Those sites have some neat ideas about carepackages and what to include in them.

Does your husband like Cakes and cookies and brownies. How about sending him Cake in a Jar (with the holidays coming up this would be perfect.) After the jars have cooled, you can then decorate them with stickers or markers (permenant) and attach a cute card to the top. This is something my kids love to do. Here are some websites for receipes and such:

http://www.razzledazzlerecipes.com/christmas/gifts/jarcake.htm
http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/getrecipe.zsp?id=48510

I have an attachment of 11 pages worth of themed Care Packages. This is something I have put together by what I have found online and what I have used to send my husband over his deployments. I have also found these websites:
http://www.girlposse.com/talk_talk_talk/themed_care_packages_0605.html
http://www.4militaryfamilies.com/articles/carepackages.htm
If you like these websites then you might like the attachment. I also have an attachment on ways to ship the Cake in a Jars. Email me and I will send them to you.
This is a cute one:
"I Love You" Care Package
-A List of 101 (or more) things you love about your partner (make it personal: from you to him)
-A homemade CD of lovesongs
-Love letter for your partner
-A copy of your favorite love stories
-Knick-knacks that say "I love you" such as a teddy bear holding an "I love you" heart, a keychain, a picture, etc.
-A mushy card

Also what about putting together a photo album for him. Take lots of pictures of everyone and anything that he likes. Even include his "toys" like cars, video games, etc.,. Get old pictures of him as a boy and of his family and include them in there. Put them all together (you can write words with almost every picture). You can have family members and friends even write a little something in there for him and then send it to him.

Also what about taking some of those really important pictures and putting them to music. Songs that mean something to the both of you or to him. You can do a wedding one (over the years), do one of just him, do one of just you, do one of just his other family members, do one of just the kids, etc., This is a good website to use:
http://www.onetruemedia.com/
You can also buy certain programs to do this yourself at home.

Have his hometown schools that he went to or where he lived, adopt him. School Kids love to write to soldiers deployed. I have gotten both the elementary and high school that my husband went to, write to him. On one trip back home, my husband went to the elementary class room and visited them and they thought that was the best thing ever.

Hope these help.

GottaLuvMy

I want to make all my christmas gifts this year, not for financial reasons but because I want to give meaningful christmas gifts. I was thinking of making all the women jewelry in their favorite colors. Is there any other ideas? Also, what are some crafty christmas gifts for men?

Answer
Bake them some sweets. Everyone appreciates food, and it's homemade.

I do like the jewelry idea, although that can get extremely expensive.

What are some inexpensive gifts that I can buy for my friends?

I have 20 people I want to buy christmas gifts for. There are 2 teenage boys, 2 adult men, 12 teenage girls, and 3 adult women. I want to buy some inexpensive gifts for them that are thoughtful also :) I was thinking bath and body works lotions for the girls, but that was my only idea.
Any more ideas?
Thank you!

½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon ground allspice
½ teaspoon grated whole nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper (optional)
1 cup packed brown sugar
5 tablespoons butter or stick margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
½ cup regular oats
Cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly spoon flour into dry measuring cups; level with a knife. Combine flour and next 7 ingredients (flour through pepper) in a medium bowl. Beat sugar, butter, and vanilla in a large bowl with a mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Stir in flour mixture and oats.

Drop by level tablespoons 2 inches apart onto baking sheets coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes or until crisp. Cool on pan 2 to 3 minutes or until firm. Remove cookies from pan; cool on wire racks.
